The folks there are so awesome... friendly and very helpful... they have pet friendly options... and the manager offered to help every time we were nearby... probably because we had 7 dogs between our two rooms... the place is clean and easy to find...the price is good although they do charge a pet fee. It is well lit, and well kept. Breakfast was yummy and they offered quite a selection!
I stayed for a few nights, room was clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. The price of the room was decent. It was quiet at night, their breakfast was good. Overall a good stay and I would recommend it to anyone!
Looked nice on the outside, well lit, clean and well kept and the breakfast area looked nice but it was 2am and I couldn't wake the front desk clerk so I guess we will try elsewhere. 😟😯🙂🤔😉🤪😊🤦♀️
The staff here was very friendly. The hotel was clean. If you're a light sleeper ask to be on the other side of the hotel (it runs along the interstate). The building is old but has been relatively well cared for. The bonus is the microwave, coffee and fridge in the room. Beds were decent ---- kind of a strange mattress -- yet didn't prevent me from sleeping. The morning breakfast isn't anything fancy. Yet I like hotels that provide something. If I was going to be spending more time at the hotel possibly in the pool or with family, I may opt for a different location. All in all - it was a good experience,
This Econo Lodge is clean and fairly quiet. I've stayed here many times for business and intend to stay again. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are what you'd expect for a hotel in this class.
Was pleasantly surprised at how nice this property is. It seems to have recently been remodeled. The room was nice, clean and very large. excellent shower. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was nice and the usual fare.
I was with a community college football team and we stayed at the Econo Lodge in Ames and I really liked the hotel the one, thing I wish was the tv was more clear to see but that is ok stayed for one night, If I am in the area I would stay at the Econo Lodge in Ames again.
The location was perfect and the room was just what we needed for a quick overnight stop. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our group with varying entry times. We had a emergency while we were there and the staff was immediate in getting us help and providing some much needed transportation.
The staff at the check in desk were pretty friendly. Regarding the room I stayed in, the carpet feels odd on your feet, it definitely is vacuumed but I did not get the impression of a regular shampoo schedule that would make sense. The room at first had a damp smell until I adjusted the HVAC unit. The pillows were decent, except I found a strain of someone’s hair on top of one of mine. The bathroom tub has a poor design and when showering, water pools very fast inside of the tub so a shower is kind of like a footbath. There are also some black residue in the corner area of the ceiling above the shower area. The hair dryer in the room was also not functional. Looked like previous spores that was cleaned off. The price is around market for the area but too high from the quality presented. The Desk staff were friendly but I would pay $30 more a night to stay somewhere else for better quality, or pay $30 less to stay her again.…
I was in Ames for a wedding and stayed at Econolodge, My check in and check out were both quick and friendly. The room was as was expected for the price. It was clean and bed was comfortable. The breakfast room was quite crowded but the food selection was quite good. Biscuits and gravy, mini muffins, toast, coffee, juices and cereal and milk as well as apples and bananas were the fare. My stay was pleasant and the staff very friendly. Good value.
