The worst Hampton Inn & Suites we've ever stayed in. Our room was dirty, not clean, carpet did not even look vacuumed, unable to sit in chair by desk as it was full of stains and what looked like crumbs but not sure if that's what they even were. Pulled sheets down to go to bed and found a crumb which looked like a piece of a Dorito in the sheets. The shower door would not close and was off the track so my husband had to fix it and get it back onto the track. To top it off, our room was right next to the outdoor patio so guests were keeping us up until after 10:00 while we were trying to sleep, so not able to sleep and one of the guests a floor above us was making very loud noises with their nonstop feet stomping on the floor as if they were walking back in forth in their room. Overall disgusting stay and not worth the overpriced rate we paid per night.…
This was a very nice place to stay! And he staff was very helpful. We had had a rather unpleasant experience in Iowa City at the Hampton Inn and I did not know who to contact about this. David at this hotel helped me by giving me the correct person to contact and assured me that my concerns a bout that property were valid. I really appreciated David's insight and was able to make contact with the correct person.
We waited for assistance, on the freeway for 4 hours, in the middle of the night. Finally a big truck came by to pick us up. We had a lot of luggage and a piece of marble. The driver had a Chiwawa who sat on my lap during the ride to the Hampton Inn in Ames. Ian the overnight manager, Jeremy the hotel manager and Tyler at the Front Desk were welcoming and very helpful. They were able to get the marble out of the truck and safely stored at the Hampton Inn in Ames, IA. My partner had been at a marble carving workshop in Marble, Colorado. The next morning the Hampton Inn staff again helped get the marble in to the rental car and we were on our way. We only stay at Hampton Inn's when we travel.
About two miles away from the ISU, easily accessible. New and very nicely kept hotel. Nice and professional service, plenty of parking space. Close to the highway and the gas station. Priced reasonable.
The Hampton Inn & Suites Ames is a well maintained property with modern decor and amenities for everyone. My children enjoyed the pool. My wife utilized the fitness facilities. The front desk staff was polite and professional. Housekeeping did an excellent job of cleaning the rooms from top to bottom. There was plenty of parking. The hotel was conveniently located near the highway and several restaurants. I strongly recommend staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites Ames.
This has been my home away from home for over 3 years as I have had a client near by. The staff are cordial, caring, and truly get to know you as a person and friend. I ended up getting extremely ill and needing emergency care during one of my stays and when I returned to the hotel they made sure I had what I needed even though there is no restaurant. Emily at the front desk is outstanding as is Gary who is responsible for the breakfast area. My work life is changing so I will not be staying as I have in the past but I would recommend this hotel. It is clean, a good value for the room rate, and extraordinary people.
We stayed only one night, we actually chose this hotel based on the reviews. We definitely chose the right hotel for our stay. The front desk person was very courteous. Our room was clean and comfortable. Room did not feel crowded. The complimentary breakfast was not extraordinary but had a good selection of protein loaded food. We definitely stay again in this hotel.
Not a friendly place to stay, the couple of times that I have stayed there it has not been friendly, the warm breakfast is lacking. Expected way better from the manager towards a Diamond member. Just find another place to stay and you will be much happier.
Just passed through. Chose due to location - close to 35. Very nice property. Got takeout from the Mexican restaurant across the street. They supplied a list of restaurants. Good breakfast - the scrambled eggs looked real, had bacon, etc. Had a nice looking pool which I did not use.
Hampton Inn in Ames Iowa is a great convenient place to stay when in Ames. Right off the HWY 30 and close to most of Ames and ISU. Dining is on next exit but soon the exit will have more development and restaurants.
