I made my first ever visit to Guatemala and Hlton Garden Inn was a good hotel choice. There is a good restaurant and a delicious breakfast available as well. The suite was nice and the congierce staff friendly and helpful speaking good English. By walking are Oakland Mall and Plaza Fontanella Mall easy to reach. It takes around 10-15 minutes to walk to Oakland Mall. On the contrary the historical City Center may be too far away for many people to walk.
This is my 4th time at the Garden Inn. Joshua and Claudia at the front desk treat you like FAMILY. They are very professional and kind. BEST Hotel in Zona 10. I stayed in other hotel in the area "luxurious" but the Garden Inn takes 5 stars for service, yummy and world class food and accommodations. KUDDOS to you for the hard work! pd. I added the pic of the quesadilla and salad that we ordered. (BEST EVER) I splitted so no worries you would not be hungry ;)
I stayed here for four nights on points. Location to the airport is convenient, food and supermarket in walking distance. Zona 9 is considered as one of the more safe areas in Guatemala City. Also close is the metro bus service to Centro historico which I used several times. Just a credit card with tap functionality is all you need to get through the gate. Checkin was quick and efficient. I was told that my room got upgraded which didn’t show in the app. The room itself was more a small room with a connecting door letting the noise from the neighbors through. During cleaning I was able to see other rooms and I can tell, I got one of the smallest room. Just look at the picture for the room view. Internet was free, not sure if it was because I am Diamond or if it’s general. Speed was really slow with 4mbits in down and upload. Not recommended if you need to work. Breakfast was free as Diamond and the staff was very nice. Good selection on fruits, sliced meats and cheese, local foods, fresh juices and egg station. Although still no self service on buffet yet back.…
We chose the Hilton for its location and price. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms were very clean, the only negative thing we noticed was that the pool was a bit dirty and the water was murky.
Clean facilities, well maintained, very committed staff, always pending about the customer’s needs and desires. I sincerely recommend this establishment. Food is safe and nicely displayed, appropriate management of hygienic measures facing the pandemic. Suggestions for improvement are kindly welcomed.
We booked a room with points for 4 friends but accidentally put 2 guests on the reservation. We all walked up together to check-in (so we weren’t trying to hide anything) the “manager” andres said that we lied on our reservation so we have to pay extra for the 2 other friends. We explain that on the Hilton points it is the exact same cost regardless if we put 2 or 4 people. He says he knows but we have to extra because we have be honest on the reservation. We ask if we can cancel it and rebook so we don’t have to pay extra and he says yes but you still have to pay extra. It’s a simple human error that can be easily corrected instead he try’s to charge us extra and doesn’t attempt to find a solution. He than makes all 3 of the friends give their passport - which has NEVER happened before just so we can all spend the night. We ask what incentive we get for being a gold member and he says nothing but breakfast that only 2 of us can have since we only booked a reservation for 2. We ask about the other Hilton gold member incentives which the manager responds “you don’t get them, this is Guatemala things are different here. He made me and my friends feel so bad after a 5 hour drive to Guatemala over a simple human error that could be easily corrected.…
I stayed at this hotel for four nights. I was assigned room 304. Service - Everyone I interacted with at this hotel was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Some speak limited English, but it is fun to learn Spanish, so I like that part of it. Wait staff in the restaurant were all great. The security staff (always stationed outside of the front entrance to the hotel) were also great. Room - Room was large and super clean. Quiet. Super comfortable bed. Mini refrigerator. Safe. Great working AC. It made the room freezing cold, which I love. Great curtains that completely kept the room dark when sleeping in. Wi-fi was reliable and fast. Room did not have a view. Bathroom was fine. Adequate counter space for your toiletries. Shower water temperature got and stayed very hot and the water pressure was great, which I love. Hotel Information - The hotel has 109 rooms and five floors. Decent size lobby, with an ATM, little pantry for snacks and beverages near the front desk, restaurant / bar, business center, and fitness center. I did not have a rental car, so I am unable to comment on parking. Free breakfast buffet for Hilton Diamond members. Breakfast buffet was excellent with tons of fresh fruit, three fresh juice options, tons of hot and cold items, made-to-order omelets, etc. Due to COVID-19, they serve it to you, but it is AYCE. Location - I loved the location of this hotel! It is located in Zona 9 (one of the safest zones in Guatemala City). It is located one block off of Avenida La Reforma (one of the main boulevards in Guatemala City that separates Zona 9 and Zona 10). You can walk to restaurants (almost every US chain is within walking distance - Applebee’s, Burger King, Carl’s Jr, Chili’s, Cinnabon, Dunkin’ Donuts, KFC, McDonald’s, P.F. Chang’s, Pizza Hut, Starbucks, Subway, Taco Bell, and TGI Fridays). Great shopping malls are within walking distance (Avia Mall and Oakland Mall). Oakland Mall is beautiful, huge, and four floors. La Aurora International Airport (GUA) and Zoológico La Aurora are less than 10 minutes by car. Plaza España, Plaza Obelisco, and the many gardens, monuments, sculptures, and statues on Avenida La Reforma, Avenida Las Américas, and 7A Avenida are within walking distance. Most of my tours did not pick up at the Hilton Garden Inn. They only had three hotel options for pickup. One was The Westin Camino Real, which is only two blocks away in Zona 10. I used that hotel as a pickup and drop off for my tours. It was convenient. I highly recommend this hotel if your travels take you to Ciudad de Guatemala!…
I stayed one night on the final day of my trip at the Hilton Garden Inn. It is in the business district around many other big name Hotel names just off Reforma Avenue in Zona 9 near Plaza Espana in Guatemala City. A 10 minute drive to the La Aurora Intl. Airport/ La Aurora Zoo. This is primarily a business hotel with an express fell to it. It has clean rooms with Cable T.V. (nothing in English), a mini fridge, a closet with a safe, iron with board, the bathroom has a shower with hot water, soap, toiletries to hold one to their stay. The bed was very comfortable with a plush quilt. Don't expect great views from the room as most I saw just had views of an industrial building next door or the fire escape ladders. The rooms were somewhat on the dark side., there is a ceiling mount a/c -heater with a remote. There is a bar with a dining area in which they serve Breakfast at $18 USD, the lunch buffet was $30 USD in which was a little pricey for what there was offered. Other items were offered on the lunch /dinner menu at a more reasonable price. The food wasn't bad, room service is offered to between 5 PM- 10 PM (17:00 -22:00) at no extra cost. The hotel as a small business room in which you can use a laptop with a printer complimentary to guests, there are business conference meeting rooms ,a patio for special occasions in which outdoor dining is offered. The thing of this hotel was you had to pay as you charged not put on your room the pay at checkout. Good for overnight stay.…
Nice hotel pricey for not including parking garage and for not many amenities not much variation of snacks and drinks in lobby nice area to stay in lots of restaurants beds and pillows very comfortable
Clean and friendly. If it wasn't for COVID restrictions I think this hotel in certain rooms could be noisy. I was on the top floor in room 525 and could hear the music quiet clear. At this time the businesses have to close at 9pm. The bed is super comfy and the room clean. If you are challenged speaking Spanish like me you will greatly appreciate Kevin who is at the front desk. I would stay here again post COVID restrictions and get a room on the other side of the building or be downstairs with them partying.
