Hotel was great! Food and Staff was awesome! However, the bar was phenomenal! I was attended by Mrs María José. What an outstanding young woman and profesional. I’ve traveled the world and had cocktails served to me that were very good. However I have to say she is Top Notch! I admire bar tending a lot. It takes a special kind of person to do that job. In my humble opinion I believe that The Westin Camino Real hit the jackpot with Mrs. María José. Beyond Excellent!! She deserves 5 stars!
The hotel is one of the best you’d visit in the world with keenness on details for the comfort of the guest. The hotel requires using a mask in all public places except for food and drink places. The room is already equipped with amenities and you can request others in case needed (e.g. dental kit or slippers). The bed is comfortable with nice pillows and the room temperature control is ok. All of the bedside and desk lamps are old fashioned with the power button inside the lamp which is not so convenient to control; in other words you can’t control all lights from a central location but you need to pass by one by one of the desk/bedside lamps to turn on/off. I received couple of worn out towels which I didn’t expect from such a nice place. There’s an ice machine in the corridor. The hotel is huge and has a nice outdoor swimming pool. Information about opening hours of the reception/front desk aren’t updated; they operate 24/7. There’re couple of restaurants, an ATM, underground parking and some shops withi m’n the facility. Prices are quite high in comparison to an average Guatemalan income but similar to a 3-4 stars hotel in Europe.…
Checking in at reception was fine, and I was thanked for my loyalty. I think this property is old and tired. What I really disliked most was the musty smell and stretched out dirty carpet. A space for a refrigerator was empty, no glassware, ice bucket or bath mat were present. Linens and towels were dingy and did not feel fresh. I would recommend a new or newly renovated property.
This hotel used to have one of the best coffees in town, now it is terrible, so sad when the coffee is bad, specially in a country that grows good coffee! With a business group we have breakfast there once a month.
Loved my stay here. The breakfast buffet was great! The variety of juices and items offered were American and locally authentic. Front desk was nice and spoke English. They did print a few pages for me without an issue. In my room I wasn’t able to hear traffic or the very loud nightclub across the street. I didn’t use any of the great amenities, but the pool and gym looked great. My co-workers raved about all of them.
Friendly and courteous service from the lobby security throughout the hotel. Upon checking you in, Luis offers a warm smile and suggestions during your stay. The restaurant staff are attentive, friendly and treat you with kindness. Javier and staff are extraordinary. On the 9th Fl lounge area, Daniel makes everything glamorous and is attentive to your needs. Love staying in this hotel where I am treated like family. I highly recommend it to all my friends visiting Guatemala.
After having a negative experience trying to book with Hilton Guatemala City, we decided to call Westin Camino Real. Our experience was very positive from the moment making the reservation up until we left the hotel. We stayed two weeks and I have nothing but wonderful things to say. Everyone was courteous and attentive. The hotel is beautiful and extremely clean. The location is perfect as it's in a safe and beautiful part of the city. There are shops and many restaurants you can safely walk to. This was important to us because we traveled with our three young children. I highly recommend this hotel! Thank you to all the staff for making our stay memorable!
Recently stayed at this hotel, very bad experience, (definitely not 4 or not even 5 star ) i was stayed here pre-pandemic (numerous times service was ok). This stay was disappointing they don't speak English only a few, and does not have enough staff. I came to the bar to ask for something to drink and food and it took a while, so I decided to go to the pool, the very kind waitress told me that she would take the food to me as she is a few steps away, but after 45 minutes I had to go see what happens, not only do they have no staff, not speak English and I have to use my friend to translate, she was talking with the boyfriend and when I ask about my food she tells me that I have to wait , my food arrived cold and the attention was very very bad.
Not a bad hotel. However, due to pandemic service we’re not offered like lounge. Breakfast was ok not the best that I have had it before at another Westin hotels. Halal was not offered at all around Guatemala, atleast I couldn find it. It’s get very dark at night if you are willing to walk around the hotel. I would recommend Uber.
Overall, disappointed. Staff was ok, but definitely not 4 or 5 star. Nobody went out of there way to be helpful, had to wait frequently for pool service. Very few English language TV channels available. Wifi was slow & inconsistent & had zero security. Breakfast buffet was uninspiring. Jacuzzi was only Luke warm & jets were infrequent.
