This is a great location in a nice part of the city, a short walk away from some really charming museums. The staff was helpful and friendly, and I really enjoyed my stay. Rooms are nice and clean as are the common areas. Also wifi works great here!
This is my headquarter when I travel to Guatemala and is Always a pleasure to come back, to see the charming staff very approachable and helpful, knowledgeable regarding places to visit in Guatemala. Breakfast was really good. is quiet, and is situated near to numerous restaurants, and supermarkets, and within easy walking distance from the bars and restaurants. I highly recommend a stay at Quetzalroo.
I am a college professor. I worked with the Quetzalroo Hostel to support a several night transition stay for 10 college students in January. The Hostel staff and director worked with me every step of the way to coordinate a safe, secure and enriching stay for our students. The staff was easy to communicate with, and they were very prompt in responding and helping me to coordinate our stay. The Quetzalroo is well run and organized. The location is in a safe and quiet part of town and less than 10 mins from the airport. The Hostel is located in Zone 10 and the area is safe to walk around...there are numerous restaurants and shops and a large shopping mall within walking distance. The bathrooms, public spaces and amenities are clean, well organized and carefully laid-out. The hostel is set back from the main road so it is quiet at night, and you have the feel that you are out of the hustle and bustle of the city. Tom Lennon Massachusetts Maritime Academy…
I was travelling with a friend who was in charge of the accomodation reservations, in our 6 months of backpacking in central america and caribbean, this was the only place I had to leave before I intended to due the incredible rudeness of the staff/owners. Right off the path at check in, this rude lady talks to you as you were a 9 yeard old girl, making very unecessary comments, then after you check in they hassle you constantly trying to sell you tours and dinners and tickets and everything for a very inflated price of course, a guy at the front desk even had the guts to tell me it was cheaper than mc donalds... LOL you guys! Nowadays we are able to find better choices paying less online, I advised my friend to pay more attention next time. NEVER AGAIN HERE!
This might be my worst hostel experience ever. The staff was rude, called me ugly and kept on shaming me into doing their bicycle tour (which I didn't do because I was sick). The area was unsafe and they gave the worst travel advice I've ever gotten. My advice is: Stay away! Unless you like having staff bugging you like angry parents. The beds were uncomfortable and the dorm was mixed which came to a surprise for me. Honestly thinking about my experience at this place still makes me upset.
