Hotel's Favourite
My family of 5 stayed At Sleeping Giant in early March. The lodging is secluded and astonishingly gorgeous. The flowers, trees, birds, creek, river and paths are stunning. The restaurants serve lovely food and drink with plenty of specials to keep it interesting. Excursions are excellently planned and we were so well cared for. I cannot recommend this enough. Everyone working there went out of their way to be friendly and accommodating. Super wonderful experience.

I would LOVE to meet the folks who designed this location. The grounds are meticulously designed with integrated water features everywhere you look. There is not a bad room on the grounds and each is uniquely designed to integrate the landscape, be it mountain, creek, river, or jungle. We had the Mountain View penthouse and it held our family of four perfectly with one king, one twin murphy and one full murphy. The veranda was wonderful at night, we got to hear the howler monkeys in the distance. The room also was well stocked with coffees, hot cocoas and cookies for the kids, and a fresh cold water dispenser. The restaurant here is amazing, the food was innovative, diverse yet local and perfectly delivered. The resort is on both a working farm and orange orchard so the food was incredibly fresh. Plus the kids enjoyed seeing the peacocks, bunnies and horses. Having the pizza place on prem was perfect for the night we did a night jungle hike. The concierge (Tristan I believe) would come by each evening and give us a brief in the next day’s activities. We did the hiking, zip lining at Angel falls and the cave tubing. Our kids 5 and 9 did all of them easily and thoroughly enjoyed all excursions, as well as the pool. There is so much to explore right in the property as well, from a mountain top lookout gazebo to a huge tree house with a net daybed over the river below, to river kayaking which turned into swimming with the curious fish. The drivers and guides (John and Rudy) were so informative and helpful. It was so nice not to have to worry about any rental car, the activities were all orchestrated to perfection. Hats off to the Belize Collection for putting together truly top notch accommodations throughout the beautiful country of Belize!

Sleeping Giant Rain Forest Lodge is exceptional! This was our first time staying in the Belize jungle and Sleeping Giant exceeded my expectations. We took the cave tubing and zip line tour. Marvin was our driver and he gave us an interesting history lesson on Belize, including the Mayan people. We also took the Mayan cooking class. We learned hands on how to make chocolate from cacao beans. It was very informative and fun. We also made corn tortillas to have with our lunch of chicken soup. We walked around the property to the top lookout tower and to the second swinging bridge. We climbed to the Nest, which also had amazing views. The food was excellent. Leibi made sure everything was perfect. She introduced us to the sweet, sugary mamey fruit and even went out of her way to bring me a whole one the next day so I could see what the fruit looked like. What a great way to care for a guest! Rene was superb! He was cheerful, attentive, and got everything right. On our first night, rain was pouring during dinner. We ate under the umbrella on the upper deck of the restaurant. Rene braved the rain to bring us our food, all while keeping his sense of humor. Doris and Alejandro were the concierges who checked on us and arranged the tours, and a pedicure and massage. They were both knowledgeable and efficient. They made sure the timing worked for what we wanted to do. Finally, Orlando, our driver on the last day to take us to the beach resort. He was a safe driver and courteous. He stopped at a store so I could get some new sunglasses. He loaded and unloaded our bags and made sure the new hotel knew we had arrived for a seamless handoff. Thank you for everything, Sleeping Giant. The room was immaculate. The food was so good, and the pool and grounds were beautiful. I loved all the blooming flowers.

Spent the first half of our honeymoon here and it could not have been more perfect for us. We hiked nearly everyday. Kayaked. Cave tubing and visited some ruins. The staff got to know us by name. The riverview room was gorgeous. We loved walking out to the deck and spending our mornings and even got a little body weight exercising in there.

Firstly - the pros: -Fabulous place nestled in rainforest valley. MV rooms are fab! Restaurants are great, except for a caveat below Now the big con: -Unfortunately, food poising hit me on 2nd day there. As Lodge is only place to eat, it was definitely from a meal i had there. Staff were great about it the next day, but they have no emergency contact after 8pm - made the night there pretty scary. This is a serious issue that should be addressed, so make sure you get emergency contact when you check in

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. We're happy to hear you enjoyed your room, but very sorry about the food poisoning that dampened your experience. Regarding your food poisoning incident, we're monitoring the situation very closely and have conducted thorough checks. We can confirm the water is clean and the pump is functioning correctly. Our Executive Chef and Head Chef are both aware of the situation and handling it. We would like to note that in the room directory in every room, there is a page with emergency contact numbers, including the Front Desk number which is handed off to Security after Front Desk closes for the night. We'll be sure to add this information to our check-in procedure. We're very sorry we were unable to assist you in a timely manner. Thank you again for taking the time to leave us a review, and we hope you'll give us another chance. Sincerely, The Team at Sleeping Giant

Amazing experience!! We stayed in the Mountain View Suite and were blown away. We were obsessed with our room. It blew our expectations out of the water! The balcony was just as big as the room with a warm plunge pool overlooking the rainforest. The service and property were fantastic. Shoutout to Doris and Alejandro. I also received a phenomenal in-room massage. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Highly recommend the pollo asada in the restaurant!

We absolutely loved this resort! There is so much to do and see. The lodge itself is gorgeous and it felt like "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" even though it was very reasonably priced (including the food and drinks!). The surrounding reserve is a playground where you can take bikes out (for free) and ride through orange tree groves and over small bridges over beautiful streams. There are lots of hikes into the jungle (we did a guided night safari for only $35 each) and saw a ton of wildlife. We also did day hikes on our own over suspension bridges and found some really cool statues in the jungle (one of the sleeping giant himself!). There was also an amazing treehouse called "The Nest" that we really enjoyed "hanging out" in, and a very nice yoga studio as well. We stayed 4 nights which we thought was perfect. The only thing I would say is that the resort needs to improve the lighting on the stairs at night (my husband took a fall one night and scratched himself up pretty good).

My husband and I just returned from a week long getaway and have only positive things to say about our stay! We wanted a good mix of relaxation and adventure and took advantage of so much the resort has to offer! The manager on site was Doris and she went above and beyond to help schedule, coordinate and prepare us for our daily activities. During our stay, we experienced the ATM Cave (so worth it!), Xunanunich Maya Site (amazing), Cave Kayaking at 5 Blues (way more intense than I expected!), horse back riding (great way to see so much of the property), massage and facial (Esmerelda was the best!), as well as many delicious meals at the restaurant (lots of vegetarian and vegan options). We stayed in one of the Creekside Cottages and preferred the layout and location to the other room styles. We already miss the jungle and hope to return someday!
