Detailed Reviews
We stayed at Cocotal before and cannot wait to return! We will see everyone again in March. We cried when we had to leave last time.
Great location with wonderful accommodations & people.
We loved going to Paco’s Tiki Bar just a couple of doors down, Crazy Canuck’s for the crab races, the Truck Stop, Wayne’s World at Secret Beach, & kayaking out to the Mexican Rocks.
We pay a very nominal fee to have our clothing laundered on site which allows us to pack a lot less. We also rent our golf cart from Cocotal which is very convenient and assures us that it is always clean and fueled up for us.
Using Tropic Air for the quick flight to San Pedro from the mainland is worth every penny!

We rented a one bedroom beach front casita with fully stocked kitchen, living area, etc. Very nice pool, quiet, private, area with walking access along the beach to a number of bars and restaurants. We rented a golf cart which allowed easy transport to San Pedro town to the south and Secret Beach to the north.
We fished two days and snorkeled two days and were conveniently picked up and dropped off at the CocoTal dock for each excursion.
Ben and the staff are knowledgeable and will do whatever they can to make your vacation enjoyable. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay with our teen/tween kids. The location was great for anyone wanting to be a bit out of town but not too far away. Ben at the front desk was so nice and helpful. He assisted us with everything we needed, from arranging taxis and trips and getting us set up with our golf cart for the week. They'd cheerfully set up the hammocks or bring a kayak to the water. My kids loved the friendly dog, Jeff, who lives at the property. One tip - when checking out make sure to look in the hamper and drawers, as when tidying up the staff helps by putting things away in places where you may not have stored them. Really a great place to relax.

When first planning this trip, I was concerned about "distance from San Pedro town". Now we know Cocotal (@ 2.5 miles north of bridge) is perfect distance. There are restaurants nearby but the drive into town is only 10-15 minutes (depending on traffic). Town is crowded, dirty, lots of traffic and exhaust. It was refreshing and nice to get out and go back to the hotel.
The cabanas were well appointed, clean, large and had lovely large decks with chairs. The pool is super and clean.
The campus is clean and very private with bikes and kayaks and their own dock.
The water was not swimmable while we were there (too much sargassum). But most places on Ambergris Caye had same issue.
The staff were very accommodating, polite, kind and friendly. Ben does a great job!

Ben was extremely helpful with answering all questions, arranging transfers, golf carts, snorkeling adventures! Location excellent and pool was great! Use of bikes and kayaks a plus. Unfortunately we had lots of sea grass and couldn’t access the ocean but it is affecting all the islands at this time. I’d return here!

Can’t say enough about this property. The location was ideal, close enough to town to be convenient but far enough from town to still be quiet. We traveled the whole island and didn’t see a single place that we thought we would’ve been happier at. We stayed in the one bedroom ocean front cabana for 10 nights and it was perfect for what we wanted/needed. The full kitchen was nice and clean and allowed us to stay in a few nights and cook for ourselves.
As good as the property is, and as great as the location was, the staff was what really made it stand apart. Ben, the on-site caretaker, was amazing. He was always available, always helpful, and always smiling. The Cocotal Inn is lucky to have him. The entire staff was great.
Without hesitation I would recommend this property.

Absolutely spotless and beautiful accommodations. Wonderful, friendly staff. Ben and Yahaira were incredibly helpful from planning, booking, arranging transportation, suggesting places to visit to helping with our departure. We loved this self-directed and peaceful haven and just a short golf cart ride to nightlife when we wanted. Please remember to spoil the dog Jeff, if you visit. Great service!! Can’t wait to go again.

Our room at Cocotal Inn was really beautiful! We appreciated the stunning view every morning from our porch and that it was a short distance north from the hustle and bustle of San Pedro, yet still super easy to get all over the island in our golf cart! Our taxi driver had an emergency the day we were to catch the water taxi out and Ben was kind enough to drive us in his personal golf cart so that we made it on time! Thanks for making our trip great, Cocotal team!

We absolutely loved our beachfront cabana at Cocotal Inn and Cabanas. The location was perfect for us. It was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of San Pedro, yet close enough to get to town within 5 minutes. Ben and his crew were fantastic and do an excellent job of keeping everything spotless. The grounds and pool were cleaned everyday. The pier was also beautiful, with a brand new hammock to relax in and enjoy the breeze off the water. We would definitely stay here again.

Hi Yahaira, We have just heard from Ben and I have sent the information. Looking forward to travelling to Belize in 2022!

No She died before we arrived! They have a new Boxer pup, wh is full of energy!
Definitely rent a golf cart while you are there. We have been stayed at Cocotal 4 times and always do. Its nice to be able to drive into town on a whim, visit Secret beach and check out the different places to eat. BTW, if you havent booked at Cocotal yet, please do!! Its the best place to stay on the Caye!!!
