I have been a Marriott customer for over 20 years, and stayed at their hotels all over the world. I have been a platinum & gold member of their customer rewards program for most of that time. Now Marriott puts an "incidental charge" on my credit card each time I stay there, and holds this for five business days. For this stay they put a $140. charge on my credit card. I'm sure other guests have stayed in the same room during this five days, so it can't be a "damage deposit". What a scam, Marriott! I'm guessing you must hold millions of dollars in an investment account with this money. If you are just beginning your traveling career find some other hotel chain. Marriott Corporation has really gone sour. Wyndham, Hilton, and others have equally nice hotels and locations. Customer loyalty and history means very little to Marriott these days. I regret having bought into the Marriott brand.…
Excellent, well-managed hotel. Everything is kept clean. Breakfast was wonderful. Frequent wiping and cleaning after people use the breakfast facilities. Wide range of foods in good condition. No easily available or convenient places to eat besides hotel.
My family and I booked same-day on a last-minute side trip to Great Sand Dunes National Park, mostly based on reviews from TripAdvisor. From check-in past check-out, the hotel staff was excellent and helpful. We had late check-in after traveling much of the day and it was prompt and the desk staff (Ellie?) was super-friendly and helped me get my laundry needs sorted. While check out should have been at 11am, this wasn't going to work with our plans. The front desk staff was gracious enough to not only allow us another hour (giving us time to check out the national park without much rush) and then let us stay in the lobby eating area to have our lunch after we checked out. Breakfast was free, and typical of most chain hotels. I would definitely recommend Fairfield Inn & Suites Alamosa if ever in the area. The cost is higher than it should be due to supply and demand, so expect a higher than normal price per night for this hotel. Also, note that the hotel is about 45-50 minutes from the national park at the far end of Alamosa.…
First. We splurged at their empty hotel pool and the hot tub. Within ten minutes, we had to get out with red eyes. Either it was over chlorinated or they used a cheap chemical. My children were coughing through the night with irritated throat. I wish that was the worst part. The walls of the hotel are super thin. It’s like you share your personal space with three families. Till ten pm, children over our heads kept running. We could hear all their convos, dreading all the stuff we had spoken in our room. Then the couple walked and walked and talked and talked till midnight. When my husband called the front desk, I am like why? It’s not their fault. They were not having a party up there. At five am they awoke again. That’s how thin the hotel walls are. You are not supposed to know when your neighbors whisper first in the morning. The beds are nice. But we left sicker physically and mentally from this hotel. We didn’t touch their complimentary breakfast. Because I had the word of the front desk when I had called on their covid 19 precautions around the buffet, ‘ma’am there are no covid measures and restrictions at the hotel.” While that truthful statement was enough for me to cancel and look for another lodging, nothing else was available. I am writing this review to save another the nightmare we called one night at the Fairfield inn at Alamosa.…
We had a wonderful experience here on our National park travels. It is only 30-35 min drive to GSDNP, and located near many stores to restock if you are on the road. The room was really clean, and we had a suite that was very spacious. There is a keurig in the room which was convenient. The breakfast was very good, and HOT. (Eggs, bacon, turkey sausage, waffles, etc) The pool area was nicely kept, and it had a small but doable fitness area. (Better than most I have encountered) Lastly, the staff was friendly, and if we had to come back, we would stay here without a doubt
