The hotel was ok. It is an older hotel that has been nicely updated. The rooms are clean, spacious and the breakfast is decent. The hotel does not have a shuttle and it is about a 10/15 minute walk from the park. The hotel is still stuck in "COVID precautions" and refused daily room cleaning. For the money paid and a three-night stay, I expect daily room service.
We stayed in one of the rooms with a King and a separate bedroom with 2 bunk beds. The room was great. The breakfast was wonderful with alternating menus each day. The staff kept everything well stocked and were super friendly and helpful. It is just a short walk to Disneyland Park from the hotel. The connecting restaurant, (Oasis) had good food, but I felt the portion to cost ratio was not a good value, but was very convenient with choices for everyone. The hot tub was very relaxing after a day of walking around the park. Overall one of the best experiences I have had with a hotel.
The room had terrible window covers that allowed too much light to come in at night time. The halls were always loud. The breakfast consisted of powdered eggs and day old food. Wouldn’t recommend in the slightest. There are better hotels both closer to the park and further from the park. Don’t get suckered into this 1 star hotel showboating as 3 stars. This is a glorified motel 6.
Great hotel, friendly staff, walking distance is less than 5 minutes to the Disneyland Parks. plenty of places to eat, Walgreens and cvs are just over the road. Free coffee in reception, collect refills of toiletries from reception as well. Breakfast was different every morning, great choice and friendly staff on the 5th floor.
We, like everyone else here, stayed due to how close it is to Disneyland. Cons: - no direct shuttle. Candy Cane right next door has a shuttle for its guest where after a 30K step day would be nice when you’re dragging your feet the walk home - no housekeeping. Using covid as the excuse. We had to call down for toilet paper, towels, garbage bags, etc and do all the general housekeeping ourselves like make beds exchange towels etc , which kind of sucks. - older hotel with a face lift, you can see it’s older and some fixes (like a light above the hotel is duct taped) are not quite fixes at all - bathroom had a slight sewage smell when water ran and toilet flushed, it passed fairly quick but was noticeable - free breakfast (is not a con!) but you cannot take anything with you, so if you were planning on taking extra for snacks during the day at Disney don’t count in it Pros: - free breakfast - fridge and microwave - 7/11 right next door (yes some homeless people around but they don’t bother you) - walking distance to Disneyland, we had a grade 1 and grade 4 children and they did the walk - hotel price was good - laundry for guests to use (nice with kids) - $6/one way Uber to target to stock up on snacks - kids liked the outdoor pool and we liked soaking in the hot tub after a long day at Disney Disney let’s you bring in your own drinks and snacks so the walk is short enough for a full backpack. You can see Disney from our bedroom window. But like I say, 30K steps a day when your dragging yourself home a shuttle would be nice!…
Utilized this hotel for a business trip as it is close to the convention center. Upon check in they had my name reversed, last name as first and first name as last. I assumed they corrected this but when I couldn’t access wi-fi I found they had not. When entering my room after check-in on Monday I found I could not lock the deadbolt unless I used force to lift up on the door. I called the front desk and they sent someone from maintenance and assured me it would be fixed. I did not check out until Friday and the issue was never resolved. Found out from the desk attendant rudely yelling to me that the gym does not open until 6am when I tried to access it before 6am. This may be feasible for leisure travel but certainly not business travel. The gym also has minimal equipment, 3 cardio machines and some free weights. There are no drapes in the hotel rooms, just wooden shutters that don’t close all the way and still allow light in. TVs are not updated, the guide/menu is a channel, and in order to get to different channels you have to scroll. And if you are placed on the 2nd floor, the main elevator does not access it. To get to breakfast you need to use the 2nd floor elevator to go down to the 1st floor, walk to the main elevator, then use it to go up to the 5th floor. Would not recommend.…
Very clean hotel,a 10 minute walk to Disneyland, all staff were very helpful and friendly, great shops and restaurants nearby, there is a alamo car rental next door,I will highly recommend this hotel, if you are planning a trip to Disneyland.
Stayed here for a Disneyland trip. It ended up being a great choice for this. Distance: Very close walking distance to the parks, enough that my party would go back midday for a rest and it wasn’t a big deal. Early check in has a $50 fee which isn’t great but since the hotel is so close to the parks it was fine leaving stuff at the hotel and going back to check in later. There’s only one street to cross and it has a crosswalk. Free breakfast: Breakfast is included. They have good options- muffins, doughnuts, omelets, waffle maker, fruit, cereal, etc. My party took advantage of this every morning as it was quick and easy and let us get to the park swiftly. Comfort: The hotel is far enough away that you don’t get the park noise. The beds and pillows are a little on the stiffer side but after a whole day in the park we all went right to sleep anyway.…
This was a whole family trip for a Christmas present. Our son, his wife and 2 daughters had a two room suite with one room having double bed bunkbeds - top and bottom - and an outer room with a King. Both rooms had their own TV's. Our other son had a room with a queen bed. We, the parents/grandparents had a suite with 2 queen beds and a living area with a couch, chair and a kitchen table with 4 chairs. There were also 2 TV's in our room - one in the bed area and one in the living area. Each room had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, safe, and hairdryer. The rooms were exceptional clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool area has a hot tub and both were clean and there were always plentiful clean towels. The pool is heated. The lobby is large and inviting and the staff were friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast is included. The room is kept clean. There were always hot meal items which varied from day to day. There is a waffle maker, a toaster with a variety of breads, cereal, fruit, yogurt and I am sure I am missing some items. It is a short walk to Disneyland, and there are restaurants in the area. The hotel has 'multi food types' menu but the restaurant it's self has few tables. The food is good and I gather most people take it to their rooms to eat. Across the street there is a strip mall with many food outlets. Walking toward Disney on opposite side of the street there is Tony Roma's, IHOP, Denny's, McDonald's as well as other's. There are other higher end restaurants withing a 3-4 block area as well. There is also a Walgreen's and a CVS across the street. There is also a 7-Eleven right beside the hotel, and a liquor, snack, and trinkets store beside it. The bus stop is right outside of the 7-Eleven.…
We stayed for a week on a family trip to Disneyland. The location is excellent as you are a ten minute walk to the parks, 15 minute walk to Downtown Disney, and a short stroll to Anaheim Garden Walk's shops and restaurants. It has fast food outlets and two pharmacies across the street. The room was comfortable with lots of useful items such as a safe, fridge, and coat hooks. The beds were also very comfortable. Only one slight issue was that I couldn't make local calls on the room phone. Customer service was very good and helpful throughout the trip. The main reason this hotel is a 4 instead of 5 is the breakfast. The choices were limited on many days. If you came down at 8 or 8:30am there would often be no muffins or donuts left. We eat vegetarian and most days the eggs had meat in them, so we couldn't eat them. There were quite a few waffle makers but they didn't always work that well and the waffles came out inconsistently. Most days there was only one type of bread to toast. The coffee was very good. And if you are still in the breakfast room at 10am, closing time, they turn off the lights. The pool looked nice, but we didn't use it. The lobby is very inviting and comfortable if you are waiting or need a place to eat. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning to Desert Palms on a future visit. …
