It’s was one of the best Motel 6 by far. The location is excellent and the facility and rooms are clean and staff super friendly. There is a market place and each floor have ice machine. They have a pool and spa located in there beautiful center courtyard. We will be staying here again.
I have to be honest this motel was chosen based off of their pictures on the website and the affordable price. What it didn’t show was the layers of filth covering every surface, the hairs in the sheets and bathroom surfaces, or the bug droppings along the baseboards. Evidence of bugs on the mattresses when my husband pulled the sheets back was the final straw. We spent 3 hours in the hotel total so I can only review on the actual room and the room of our other family travelling with us. We contacts the Disney travelling company we booked with and was given a full refund right away based on our experience and photo evidence. We were moved to the Howard Johnson. I would recommend spending a little extra to be elsewhere.
We had an amazing stay at Motel 6 Maingate in Anaheim! The room was comfortable and spacious, and it was just a short distance away from the Disney parks. The best part was the free coffee that was available 24/7 - it was delicious! Our stay was comfortable and convenient, and we highly recommend Motel 6 Maingate to anyone looking for a pleasant and affordable place to stay in Anaheim.
I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Our room had countless boogers wiped on the walls, sink and bathtub. The bathtub was full of hairs as if not cleaned. The toilet had several hairs on it…. the floor was sticky and not swept. There was a belly button piercing left by the toilet. There was trash and a lot of hair on the floor and the room smelled quite strange. I don’t believe the room was cleaned prior to our arrival. If you don’t mind filth, the walk wasn’t bad. About 15- 20 minutes from the the entrance.
This motel has gone downhill. There's no refrigerator, no microwave, and no place to lay out stuff. I know that Motel 6 is a no frills hotel, but these aren't luxuries. This used to be a nice budget option for Disneyland. It's now of my list of places to stay. Do better Motel 6!
We had stayed in Motel 6 Anaheim during our previous stay in 2020 where we had a rather enjoyable stay. Based on this, we rebooked for this years trip to Anaheim, but sadly we've had a very different experience that has led to us making contact with you. The first night's stay was fine, and we had nothing to be concerned about. The staff were friendly, checked us in with no issues, and we had a good night's sleep. The reason for contacting you comes from night 2 and our subsequent issues... The night of the 14th had us walk in on a live cockroach in the bathtub/ shower that I had to remove by hand as we had nothing in the room to deal with it. We also have a video of it moving though it looks dead in the tub (which is a concern in itself) as it flipped round and flew onto the shower curtain when I was trying to rid of it. I had to force it back down the plug hole (alive) covered in shower gel and then reattached the plug that seemed to have been removed entirely to stop anything crawling up the pipe further. Though I understand Cockroaches are a thing in the states, it's a pretty disgusting thing to walk in on and as they are synonymous with poor cleanliness- we were pretty appalled with the sight, having left the room with no such thing hours before. Please see the image below: Photo one attached Further to the issues in the bathroom, we had chewing gum all around the sink plug that seemed to have hardened meaning we could not plug the sink with the mechanism to run hot water to shave. See attached: Photo two attached The same night we were in bed with the AC on when the room was overcome with the smell of marijuana from someone smoking near the hotel room door being sucked in directly through the AC vent. The foul smell remained in the room for around an hour which kept us up late at night. Due to the type of room we stayed in, we were the second room in a "conjoined" room with a lockable dividing door. The room connected to us had a male in there who snored incredibly loudly keeping me up until around 02:00 am. Their bed seemed to be right next to the dividing door which vibrated and kept next to no sound out. I had to have the TV on to drown the sound out, but as it kept my partner awake and I was worried I would wake next door up, and to keep her asleep as much as possible, I had to run the AC unit at max which rattled (just not as loud as the snoring from next door). Though I understand the hotel cannot directly control the behaviour of its guests, it's not great having a bed right next to a dividing door (which seemed rather easy if one was to open it from the other side) which made us a little uneasy about leaving our bags there and any noises from or near the bed were very noticeable. All the above happened in 1 night... The final day was not as bad as before, but there was a real frustration with the way the hotel staff dealt with it, and how they stored our bags. As we had 6 bags, 2 of which were very small tote bags, we were told "we won't normally allow this so can you add this to one of your big bags as we only hold 5 bags". This seems rather strange as I can imagine with large families, they can store more than 5 bags surely? When I went to collect our bags, and as we were running late to get to the transportation centre to get to LAX, I walked down the hall to offer help to the hotel staff to collect our bags (she went down alone to get 5 bags) at the end of the corridor. After waiting for around 5 minutes, and having already given them the accompanying tickets to ID our bags, I have to physically point out the bags in the room (where there weren't many anyway) but the staff had to KEEP checking the tags without listening to me pointing out the bags AND the tag number on it relative to the tag in their hand. I was also NOT happy with other people's luggage seemingly clipped to our bags that I recognised from the couple checking their bags at the same time we did earlier that day (a small black backpack attached to my suitcase). Though we could have brought the list of issues up with staff at the time, we were wanting to be in the park for 07:30 and were not returning until 23:00+, so we were not wanting to spend our mornings speaking to staff (who may not have been the day team) and were just wanting to go to bed after an incredibly long day. We also wanted to get to the end of our stay to see if we would have a massive improvement, give them the benefit of the doubt, and scratch it off as a blip. It's a real shame to have to write this review and we've omitted another minor issue because we really do like giving people the benefit of the doubt, but because we stayed at this Motel 6 based on a previous positive experience, this stay was just not acceptable and really ruined a portion of a really special trip for us. However, after leaving my feedback with Expedia, which we booked through, Motel Six stated that due to us not leaving our feedback on the day or during our visit, they won't honour our complaint or take the time to hear about it and help us come to a resoultion. We weren't able to provide our feedback during our stay as we were doing long hours within the Disney parks - which was the reason we chose this hotel.…
My mom and I went for our birthdays. It just seemed dirty all around. The halls looked like the floors haven’t been washed in forever. Our room has a strong baby powder like smell that we almost couldn’t stay in the room. Our bathroom looked dirty, there were hairs in the tub and the floor was dirty. We were there a week and they didn’t even change our garbage. The large garbage bins in the halls were full so we couldn’t even take it there. The desk staff was a mix. Some were friendly and others were miserable to deal with. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.
The manager Diana Garcia was very unfriendly and does not understand situations or even care. She should get a new job and the hotel industry needs kind people. DO NOT USE this hotel and send a message that kindness and working with a customer is a better solution.
Booking with a balance of cheapest, closest to Disneyland, with the best reviews was hard. However finally settled on this one seemingly being the best balance of all three criteria. Was very happy with our stay - the room wasn't fancy but it was clean, very spacious, and comfortable. Walking distance to Disneyland and California Adventure, as well as food options for delivery and pick up.
