We loved the Waldorf in DC. The location is perfect as we were able to walk to several nearby attractions and restaurants. The lobby is gorgeous and was the backdrop for several photos (something our teens loved). I would definitely recommend taking the tour to the top to visit the bell tower and to learn the history of the post office. The views from the top are amazing. We had two adjoining rooms which were nice and gave us more than enough space. Will definitely return when we go back to DC.

Hotel's Favourite
The hotel is in what was the old post office - a mighty fine historic building in the middle of D.C. A great location - a metro station just around the corner and a 5 minute walk to the national mall. The main entrance and reception is stunning. It’s like a plaza - there’s a bar and seating with a restaurant. It is so grand and a massive American flag is hung on one wall. Simply stunning. Through out the hotel the decorations are fantastic. The staff were also really great - the breakfast and bar staff amazing and the door staff. Really great people. The room was very comfortable. The king bed was heavenly. In our room we also had a desk with a chair and a big cabinet with a huge tv on it with bedside tables each. There’s a wardrobe with a safe in it and a steamer. We had a great sleep. The bathroom is stunning. Double sinks, a huge shower and the biggest bath I’ve ever seen. Their toiletries are fantastic. Hair dryer available too. With our deal we got money for breakfast included. It’s not the cheapest breakfast but it is fantastic - the pancakes and bacon with maple syrup I can’t stop thinking of and the salmon avocado stack was also delicious. We also got some room credit which we spent on cocktails in the evening - some great choices. The bar is really well presented. You can normally go up to the tower which is not run by the hotel but due to covid this was not possible. We had an absolutely super stay. I know that it is being sold and I hope that the grandness of the hotel remains.

I have recently visited DC and a friend of mine suggested to have tea at Waldorf Astoria DC. I can’t describe how amazing this experience was. The Harpist and the calm ambiance along with the incredible quality of the food and Service . You really need to ask for Mustafa as a Server. Thank you for raising the bar

My family and I visited D.C. at the beginning of the Cherry Blossom Festival. We had a phenomenal trip visiting some of the Smithsonian Museums and cruising through town on Limes seeing the sights. What made it even more special was the amazing staff at the Waldorf Astoria. Dennis, the bellman, took special care of my young children; noticing when they had a need, offering them water and asking them about their experiences so far. I’m always impressed with kind people, especially when they show kindness to my little ones. Thank you Dennis!

I took my mother to the Waldorf for her birthday. As I was preparing for bed, I realized that the pillows were all down (and for some odd reason there were no hypoallergenic alternatives in the closest like most hotels). I called the front desk, room service, house keeping , NO one answered. I went down to the front desk where there was an attendant and politely asked for new pillows. 30 min passed, and no pillows, I made the calls again, and NO answer. Went back down, found 2 mangers standing around chatting, and the same woman at the front desk (odd that no one was around to pick up my call). Told the two mangers my situation, and 30 min later, pillows were finally sent up. When I checked out the next morning, the front desk attendant asked about my stay, which I explained was not the best of circumstances, he gave me a partial discount on our morning room service. Which was fine, I guess. Later in the week I got an email from the Waldorf asking to rate my stay, which was poor at best, A day later I got call from a manger, Cara, wanting to make things right. She said to ask for her or Jacob. When I called I spoke with Jacob, who said he was aware of the situation and that corporate was mailing me a voucher to be used for future stays. The voucher never came, I have called a couple of times, and have been assured that I would receive a follow up, but only received silence. For a 5 star hotel, the days inn would have shown better hospitality and customer service. Don’t offer vouchers and compensation when not even competent to deliver such gestures. Save your time a and money, go to the four seasons, where then appreciate your time and patronage.

Experience was fantastic. The waldorf name speaks for itself but the staff makes the difference. Check in was very easy and Danish and the valet team were awesome. Best location and staff in downtown dc. Restaurant/drinks were well priced and service was top tier.

Stopped in for an evening drink in the bar dressed too a tee in a tux and my wife was wearing a stunning dress. Waited 15 minutes for someone to come to our table to order a drink, waited another 15 minutes to receive the drink and the server never returned when we asked for water. Service was abysmally slow and not very friendly.

We had a lovely stay here. The staff was nice and the restaurants were all good. The room was spacious. The cellist in the forum was great. I want to come back for afternoon tea. But we enjoyed listening to the music from the bar. You can also go to the top of the old post office. We will come back.

We visited Friday morning for a special breakfast for our last day in DC. We were very disappointed with the food and the service. Pastries were dry - maybe from yesterday. Avocado on toast tasted as from a can. The Granola was bland and uninteresting. They forgot a smoothie we ordered. And finally on the bill one of the dishes was 30 instead of 25 as stated in the Menu. We didn’t even bother to tell them because everything had been so mediocre. Find somewhere else for breakfast ✨
