I stayed here with my beau for one night. He drove up from the south, and I came down from the north. I got there much earlier than him so I was on my own for a while. It's in a great walkable area with restaurants and shops. I went to a cute spa and got the works. I saw what I think was 4 shifts. Every employee from housekeeping to the front desk was so knowledgeable and helpful. They were professional and really went above and beyond. They accommodated early check in and late checkout :). They have a happy hour dining. The room was immaculate. It was comfortable. Would absolutely recommend and would stay again. Cons: my TV guide stopped working, wifi was slow, and valet is so expensive. To valet 2 cars we paid 150 bucks with the taxes and fees. It's expensive but it's convenient and I expect to pay a lot in DC and NY for parking. If they didn't have the service and we had to find parking, we would have been spending the night in the cars. So maybe this is more of a "be prepared for" rather than a con.

Hotel's Favourite
My fiance (now husband!) and I stayed at the Royal Sonesta in DC for 2 nights for our wedding with our dog. We worked with Allie R. who was amazing at coordinating everything and made sure everything went smoothly. We stayed in a King Executive Studio Suite and were amazed by the large size of the room was and the gorgeous views we had of the city! The hotel room was spacious, exceptionally clean and they even included thoughtful touches for our dog such as a fluffy dog bed and 2 large bowls for food and water. In addition, all of the staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful whenever we had any questions or needed anything. The location is also superb - it is located on a very cute street with lots of bars and restaurants and in the heart of Dupont Circle. We can't wait to stay at the Royal Sonesta again!

Excellent accommodations and service but I will never stay again because of extra daily charge for things that are normally included or of no use to me. The extra $25 plus tax covered coffee in the lobby. That was only available until 10:00 a.m. It included wine in the early evening when I was never in the hotel. I do love that they have dispensers for soaps and conditioners instead of the tiny little waste of plastic, impossible to empty bottles.

Bruce and Kevin made me want to come back. First of all, this place was near my conference, with the same quality of room, but lower cost. I had a few issues with paying with my company card, and Kevin came to the rescue... pretty sure after his working hours ( I could be wrong on this one). Then, I kept getting confused on charges and receipts, and Bruce was calm and pleasant the entire time.. every phone call. I have never received such nice service when I was being a "Karen". I will be going back there instead of the Washington Hilton again.

It’s hard to give them a one as this is basically a Red Roof Inn charging 4+ star prices. Incompetent staff. Zero amenities. Nothing open. But more than willing to charge like everything is fully operational. I will never use this hotel or anything with Sonesta as part of the name

Hello JDBFL, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. Sincerely, Bruce
