Stayed at the Morrison Clark while attending a conference just a block away. This hotel was lovely, quiet and everyone was very friendly. The bed was comfortable and I never heard anything from any of my neighbors. I slept better here in the past 5 days than any other hotel I've stayed in.
For seniors on a budget the Morris Clark Inn, was priced at $154 which included Parking. For anyone checking rates in DC this was a real bargain made even more Perfect by the service and lovely Interiors. Previously built as a private home by Asian Merchant everything about the property was understated yet elegant. The valet upon are arrival was attentive and focuses on our first impression The front desk attendant graciously upgraded us to a larger corner Room. The public rooms were all quiet during summer so we felt we had the place to ourselves. The Breakfast room could not have been more beautiful, what a Great place to start your day. American breakfast $15. This is considered a boutique hotel. We will be back next summer so should you.
Top level service! Up at 4am could not sleep. Needed coffee. Abdul the night auditor went and made me coffee! #NEXTLEVEL SERVICE!!! Many thanks to Morrison and Clark for having such great employees!!!! Great hotel and even better staff!!!!!!
I love this little inn!! It’s located in such a convenient part of DC. It’s close to the Metro making it maybe a fifteen minute train ride from Reagan Airport to the front door of the hotel. The lobby is quaint and very clean. I loved the shower in my room, hot water, rain shower head, beautiful white marble. There’s a beautiful outdoor courtyard perfect for reading or having a cocktail from the lobby bar. Again everything is very clean yet historic. Just fabulous…. Book your stay here and you won’t be disappointed!
The room is immaculate clean but not huge, nice large bathroom and serviceable tub. Bed was comfortable, decor is quite neat. The location is great (walking distance to the Dabney), and it has valet parking. The bar does use standard commercial mixers, but the bartender is engaging and smart. Breakfast was a bit simple, would have liked something besides Lipton's for tea and a bit more sauce on the Eggs Benedict, but service was very nice. I'd love to go back.
Nothing in life is perfect, but if you want a stay in DC that comes close at a reasonable price, you should consider staying here. I stayed for two nights in July, and it was wonderful. It is in a central location. Just a 5-minute walk from the Convention Center and a major metro stop (Mt Vernon Sq 7th St-Convention Center). From this metro location, you can travel around DC with relative ease. It was easy to get to and from the airport. The room was clean, neat, and cozy. The staff was charming, attentive, and willing to help at all times of the night. I will keep this place in mind the next time I decide to visit DC. If you check out and need a place to store your luggage, that is a service offered, just ask anyone at the front desk. Note: Valet parking is offered. There is a separate charge (~$45) to park.…
Wow! The hotel is beautiful and well maintained with a super helpful staff. There’s no question I’ll be returning to the Morrison Clark Hotel on my next visit to DC. Even though the valet parking was a bit pricey, they let me keep my car there until 2 PM on the day I checked out. PS- sometimes the stairs are faster than the elevator.
Classic example of value of Trip Advisor - would not have known about this place without TA. It is distinctive, very nice, large rooms, beautiful interior patio, nice bar in the lounge, very helpful staff, 5 minute walk from convention center. The building dates from the 1800's. During World War II it housed thousands of service people. But just to be clear, it has been substantially updated and is very attractive.
If you cozy up to the bar, you can have a bartender tell you about the neighborhood by the Nationals stadium, "which used to be real 'sketchy' and 'stabby', but now it's been all gentrified and there's a lot of great cool bars over there". Obviously, as a discerning, conscious Black person, I will never stay here again. I also work for an organization with 200 employees that has a local affiliate with about 500 staff and a national reach of 1000s - and I will be passing the word about what to expect at the Morrison Clark hotel.
We stayed at this hotel at the end of May and we weren't disappointed. The price was very reasonable and it is in a good location. We arrived VERY early on a Sunday morning but they had a room available for us, plus they gave us an upgrade and 2 vouchers for breakfast. The restaurant was lovely. The menu wasn't big but the food was very good and reasonably priced. We would definitely stay here again.
