We are so grateful to Capitol Hill Hotel for the excellent customer service we received. We had an Airbnb fall through at the last minute and called Capitol Hill Hotel on a whim. Their price for same day in the summer was reasonable, and when we arrived, they gave us more amenities and additional discounts without our asking about them. We had a beautiful suite with incredible light. I'm a proud Hill resident who reserved this for family, and I absolutely loved the design details that really highlight elements of life on the Hill from a Hill resident's point of view. We even had dogs and the hotel was so dog friendly (in true Hill tradition). I would recommend this hotel to any friends or family who want a hotel in DC with unique personality and a true local vibe. Thank you for a great stay!…
Fantastic location in the heart of Capital Hill. Walking distance to Metro but valet parking available at hotel.Easy to check in, cordial staff.Spacious lobby area with hot tea/ coffee, water provided with plenty of areas to sit after a long day of sightseeing. Our room was clean, spacious with lovely bathroom.
Rooms were very clean and spacious. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is close to everything! The breakfast area has a large selection of items to meet every traveler's needs. Coffee is very good too!
My husband and I spent six nights at the Capitol Hill Hotel on Capitol Hill in Washington DC. We were in Washington DC to attend the American Inns of Court Gala Celebration of Excellence at the Supreme Court Building. We also did some touring. The hotel was a very attractive boutique hotel in a very nice area of Capitol Hill. All of the staff were extremely accommodating. Especially accommodating were the front desk staff, Lionel, Sean and Cornell. Every request that we had they immediately attended to in an extremely courteous and upbeat manner. Every time we came in and out of the hotel or passed the front desk from our room they were always extremely friendly and asked us if we needed anything. The hotel provided a very nice breakfast every morning with several breakfast items that you could choose from. They also provided snacks that you could take to eat later during the day such as yogurt, energy bars and fruit. They had a daily coffee tea and fresh water bar set up in the lobby. We asked for a late check out and they did not hesitate for a second but said of course that would be fine. Our room was large with great air conditioning which was a welcomed relief after the humidity. There was a kitchen area in each room with a refrigerator, microwave, sink, attractive utensils and dinnerware. We felt the hotel was fairly priced for what they provided. We would highly recommend this hotel and especially their front desk staff to anyone who plans to stay in the Capitol Hill area. Barbara and Jim Nolan…
Location is great, being two block from the Metro, Capitol, and Library of Congress. The staff extremely friendly and welcoming! Performance was lacking. Our room was reserved months in advance and reconfirmed less that two weeks before arrival date. At checking our room was not available. Instead the three of us were given a small room with a king bed. We returned after a long hot day of site seeing, to find the promised rollaway bed had not been brought in and made up. Had to walk down to the front desk as room phone didn’t work. 40 mins later bed and additional towels were squeezed into our small room. Finally around 11:30 were able lay down. Our bed was so close to the AC unit that we had to choose being hot or cold, no in-between. In the morning, we were promised our room, and that the sofa bed would be pulled out and made up. Upon our evening return, again after a long day, the room we had originally booked was available. But upon entering, the sofa bed had not been made up. I pulled it open to make up myself, but there weren’t sufficient linens, blankets or additional towels. I did however find a soiled face cloth on the floor at the head of the bed. After visiting the front desk again, room phone not working, staff did come up and made up the bed. At checkout, management attempted to make amends by not charging for our first night, which was appreciated, but still after our third stay I have to say it will be our last. In general the hotel rooms are very tired. Window covers, plaster walls, bathtubs, fixtures, furniture, doors and carpets are all badly in need of upgrading!…
I just stayed for 4 nights on business in D.C. and the Capitol Hill Hotel was awesome. The location was great not just because of the proximity to the Capitol, etc., but because it is in a lovely neighborhood with several restaurants within a couple of blocks. As for the hotel itself, the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. They helped me with all my requests with a smile and were just wonderful to interact with. They went out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable and that I had everything I needed. The spaces are inviting and chic. I wish I’d had more time to relax in the library with the 24 hour coffee, tea, etc. The rooms are large and have all you need, and had possibly the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. I slept better than I sleep at home. The bathroom was a little snug, but since it was just me it wasn’t an issue. It does have a large closet/changing area. In all, just a wonderful stay and if I have the pleasure of going back to D.C. I will certainly be staying here. G.W.…
The staff at this hotel made our stay at Capitol Hill incredible! They were always very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast provided had a lot of choices. Conveniently located with many restaurants within 2 blocks and Metro only 2 blocks away as well.
Spent a week in this small boutique hotel in Capitol Hill area in early June 2022. While rooms do seem a bit outdated - or maybe I was given a room that hasn't been renovated - the location of this hotel made it an excellent choice for my business trip to D.C. Nearest metro stop is a short, 5-minutes walk away; and there are several restaurants and bars nearby (even more if you're willing to take a short stroll down the 8th street SE). The hotel itself is on a quiet street which made quality sleep and rest possible. I do have to praise the staff - super helpful, super friendly and super responsive; keep up the good work, folks!
This hotel was top notch. Highly recommend. Our room faces the Library of Congress. We were one block from Pennsylvania Ave. room was extremely clean and front desk was excellent. David and Lyonel were the bomb and oh so helpful. Go stay there.
If you want a quality relaxing hotel on the hill, this is the place for you . Comfort and quality. The front desk staffers were very helpful and full of knowledge about the city and the surrounding area.
