Just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. We chose this hotel for the close proximity to Georgetown. We definitely chose the right hotel! It's all the little things that add up to make a great stay. From the valet to housekeeping to the restaurant- this hotel is service oriented. Post-pandemic it is difficult to find a hotel that offers housekeeping. This hotel offers incredible housekeeping! Our first day, we arrived back from sightseeing to find not only our beds made but our things placed in orderly fashion-shoes lined up, clothes folded, etc. The next day housekeeping had noticed I used two coffee Kcups, so they left an extra for me. This hotel's housekeeping staff is not only immaculate but observant as well. The host at the breakfast recognized us the 2nd day and welcomed us back. The lobby is beautiful- with a small bar and tons of tables and chairs for guests to sit with a drink and talk. We sat each day in the lobby to just chat about the day. If you are concerned about cleanliness- this hotel is too. I observed, on a regular basis, staff sanitizing all touch points constantly. There is a gym on sight as well. It is clean, well-staffed and has well-maintained cardio equipment, free weights and weight machines. In addition, there is a salt-water lap pool for swimmers. There are lots of little coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance. The walk to Georgetown is not long either and there are lots of shops and restaurants there as well. I would definitely stay here again.…
We enjoyed our stay a great deal. The staff here is INCREDIBLE! They could not be more welcoming. This is by far, my favorite hotel. It was really nice to come back. Our room was excellent, the food at the restaurant was terrific and the bar outstanding. Highly recommend!
We had a 5 day stay at the Fairmont and picked it mainly due to its ideal central location fir the 4th July. The room was excellent with another large bed for our 13 year old daughter. We used the pool which we could book at reception for an hour lane swim which was great as a family. The gin bar was increadible sitting outside till it got quite late in pleasant chilling surroundings. All the staff was courteous and helpful throughout our stay. We never ate at the hotel but the food did look exceptional including an impromptu BBQ. In all exceptionally good, and chilling introduction to DC.
I have stayed at this location many times and have had an excellent experience every time. My only concern is not able to obtain Reward points. I am registered for Fairmont as well as Accor rewards program.
The hotel is very nice and the accommodations are lovely but the staff left much to be desired. The check in staff seemed friendly enough to the couple at the counter ahead of me. They provided information about the area and things to do close by - but when it was my turn the young man seemed more interested in shuffling me on my way. I didn’t feel welcomed at all. He gave me my room key and I basically had to pull teeth to get basic information such as the location of the elevators and the hours of operation for the on site dining. That was frustrating and not an awesome way to start my trip. The bartender wasn’t much better. Not a jerk but certainly not friendly. Same with the wait staff at the restaurant for breakfast/lunch. I probably wouldn’t stay here again and again at that price point I just expect more. The young man delivering room service was very nice though. The pool also sucked. It’s basically an exercise pool. Not good for lounging and the hot tub was out of service. Overall wouldn’t book again…
I enjoyed two stays in June 2022 for business and found the location, rooms, and amenities to all be very good. I also dined at the Courtyard Bar and enjoyed the food and service there. My only complaint was the hotel was very unhelpful when trying to address charges/credits after my stay. I called and emailed multiple times and even spoke with the front desk in person but never got my issue resolved. While customer service during my stay was excellent, I was given the run around when trying to address my issue. It's not the service I would expect from this caliber of hotel.
I enjoyed staying at the Fairmont for the long 4th of July weekend. The check in process was very welcoming and efficient and my room was conformable and laid out well. I was upgraded to a balcony room and I must admit, ended up spending much more time sitting out on the balcony I would have thought I would - coffee in the morning, a glass of cava in the evening, It's something I would highly recommend. [Special note on the cava, there's a Trader Joe's less than 2 blocks away with a great selection of bubbly!] The location wasn't quite as convenient as I had hoped. Georgetown was an easy walk away but most of downtown and foggy bottom were a little to far in the July heat. One other thing to note about the West End neighborhood where the Fairmont is located is that there's more vacant business fronts that occupied. Of course that's completely due to covid, seems like a lot of businesses just didn't survive, but it was rather sad. In Fairmont's defense I was pleased to see that they had 3 food and beverage outlets (not counting the lounge accessible by those staying in Gold level rooms) that were available through out the day. Limited hours yes, but it was still nice to have options. Speaking of food, the short rib tacos at the Courtyard bar are probably the best thing I ate my whole trip. Truly delicious! Would I stay there again? Yep, I would.…
We were in town for a graduation dinner in Georgetown travrling with our dog. Needed parking and dog exercise area and convenient to Georgetown. Hotel has a wonderful private outdoor bar and dining area.
The hotel is amazing, and the food is terrific. The juniper staff is very kind and the lobby lounge staff is absolutely wonderful. The courtyard is also really nice to be in with a gin tonic. And the extra menu there is also very, very good. As well as the bartenders who really who what they are selling + provide excellent service. The young tall restaurant manager who was there everyday was very good and on top of the staff and the restaurant. Had an amazing conversation with him and a bartender and we kept it informal what I personally really like. The good thing that I saw was that he was only informal with the guest where he could be informal be. They are amazing in reading guests and what they desire. Kuddos for the whole team. The room was spacious and really clean. If I needed something like toothpaste, I got it really quick. I come here every now and then and I am not please by one front desk employee to say the least (tall guy with ginger hair). He is just rude to say the least. Made a mistake with putting my card on the card machine instead of in it. And he was really rude and told me on a rude way to put it in the machine as he said. When we ask him for questions he’s uninterested and basically wants us to leave as soon as possible. Even when there is no one. I Have no other words for this, but when I am paying $500+ a night I don’t want to deal with a rude, not interested person who is very mean. I expect better from Fairmont, way better…….. But the thing that annoys me the most is the following: I overheared a conversation of him to his female coworker that he doesn’t want to be here, and wants to leave and go upstairs or something like that. That annoyed me the most, that he was that uninterested! We’ll come back, but expect better service from the desk! For the rest is this hotel + the staff awesome and feels like home!…
We very much enjoyed our stay. We booked two rooms which they put together for interconnection which was appreciated. The place is beautiful and clean and smells amazing. Weird to say, but they actually have a feature scent that is very subtle yet very pleasant in the lobby. I honestly can't imagine I'd stay anywhere else if in DC. The "only" knock is after dinner, we came into the lobby and had a few questions for the gentleman behind the desk. After waiting for him to finish a call, he seemed a bit frazzled/impatient at our questions. He smiled and answered them but appeared rushed - no one else was there so it was just us, but we quickly realized he didn't have the time so we just went up to our room. He wasn't rude though. All that said - excellent stay and exactly the type of hotel I want.…
