Thompson is so nice! Brian at the Valet station was super nice and helpful not only with our parking but with info on the area and where to grab a bite to eat! The hotel was perfect and the location was great! We would definitely stay here again!
I’ve stayed at several Hyatt brands and the Thompson is one of my favorites. The hotel is centrally located. It’s walking distance from the Nationals baseball stadium, restaurants and bars. Only a short 10 min drive to all the famous DC sites. The only huge disappointment is the hotel does not have a microwave. As a traveler, you naturally frequent several restaurants during your stay and will have left overs. You receive many perks as a Globalist member, including free parking when you use points/rewards, upgraded room (based on availability) and breakfast. I arrived late due to a delayed flight, but my balcony room was ready for me. The views are amazing. I recommend this Hyatt property over any other located in DC.
It was an amazing experience the entire stay. The valet gentleman named Bryant greeted me and welcomed me right away made me feel at home and the rest of the staff was exceptional as well. I stayed in the junior suite and it was beyond accommodating. Super clean super nice. The morning coffee and afternoon fruit infused water was amazing!
Won’t stay again as simple requests weren’t honoured. House keeping staff KEPT knocking on my door while I was trying to sleep despite the “do not disturb” sign on the door. No one helped me with my luggage (4 large suitcases). Saw me struggling but no assistance offered.
I haven't stayed at a Hyatt in awhile so not sure if this standard for their hotels, but there were a lot of missing "must haves" for me that were lacking. Housekeeping was not provided for a two night stay unless requested a day in advance (was not advised of this). Wifi was spotty at best. Breakfast buffet of $15 was barely edible. Room did not have a microwave nor coffee maker. Bathroom sink faucet was so low and large you could barely get your hands under it to wash. Vanity space was minimal - barely enough room for toiletries for one person let alone two. The sink did not have a stopper so goodbye contact lens! There is a master light that controls all other lights so if you want to leave a light on the bathroom so you can see in middle of night you have to have this switch on. Unfortunately this also turns on two overhead bed lights which can't be turned off. The bwd had no top sheet so you you had to sleep with comforter on which was broiling hot - only way to get cool enough was to turn AC way down which made it freezing when getting out of bed. Additionally the main reason I chose this hotel was for the rooftop lounge which was unfortunately closed for renovations (again not told when booking). Only plus was hotel was clean and staff were friendly. Extremely disappointed - would have expected much better for this price.…
Clean, Polite, & Crisp. Staff was pleasant and precise, rooms were updated and spotless. Will stay here again. Every time we visit DC, we stay near the Navy Yard and this is by far the most recommended.
Highly recommend staying at the Thompson. Everything as advertised plus more. Shout out to Bryant who was incredibly professional, kind, and went above & beyond . Couldn’t have asked for a better stay.
Bryant was exceptional and he was amazing with his hospitality. Made me feel really welcomed and extra friendly before I even could walk into the building. Such an exceptional stay. When I come back this is the only hotel I will stay at.
This is my second visit to the Thompson Hotel and it was actually the best ever. The staff addressed me by name and made sure I had every amenity available to me. The icing on the cake was Bryant from the Valet desk. I contacted an Uber. When it arrived he literally ran to me and he graciously took my bag to the trunk and opened my door. That meant the world to me. It reminded me of how I deserve to be treated. This is now my choice hotel for DC travel. That made my day!!!
A beautiful new property at Navy Yard (within eyeshot of the Nationals Stadium.) Not your usual chain hotel, and close to both the METRO and Washington National Airport. Highly recommended in an up-and-coming area.
