Jessica is great with customer service and suggesting places to eat. Terrell is a smiling face, and extremely helpful. This was my first trip for business to DC, and everyone was extremely helpful and friendly! The hotel was nice, but understand the rooms are smaller. For my stay, it was great.
From the moment I walked into the lobby, until the second I departed five days later, EVERY employee--every single person--was friendly, inviting, generous, sincere, welcoming, helpful, accommodating. I felt like family! They treated me like a welcomed friend. Each staff person engages in casual conversation, asks about YOU and seems sincerely interested, and works to ensure you are comfortable and satisfied with your stay. No one was distracted, never too busy, always attentive to what guests might need, and seemingly intuitive to what guest might want. These folks are professional and should be held up as models for how accommodations staff should provide guest service. I was a little cautious about the location; in years past this was not an ideal neighborhood. But things have certainly changed; the years have been good to Chinatown, and it turned out to be safe and convenient. And although the rooms are small, the bed was comfortable, the shower was terrific, and there was little to no outside noise. I HIGHLY recommend MOTTO! The Crimson Cafe is, again, expertly staffed. I tried the burger with PEANUT BUTTER and was not disappointed. The rooftop bar is wonderful, even on hot steamy Washington evenings when a light breeze feels like air conditioning. And while I'm not a whiskey drinker, the downstairs whiskey bar had a great band (not too loud) and relaxing atmosphere. For those who imbibe, I believe there are more than 400 kinds of whiskey! So, if you're reading this review and debating, stop right now and book it! The Motto employees delivered superior guest service and I am eager to return, even if just to visit with these amazing people: Receptionists Brooke, Jenni, Raquel, bartender/server Angel and hostess Angel. Spectacular service!…
An overall 5 of 5 rockstar experience. Location is perfect in the heart of DC, good amenities, cozy scale. The best part had to be the staff, specifically Alexandria and Kristina!! They would always greet you no matter how busy, had exceptional restaurant recommendations (kept handy in a little notebook with GORGEOUS handwriting), and never disappointed when I needed something. This hotel is the gold standard in customer satisfaction.
The front desk customer service was top notch from check-in to check-out and everything in between. Thank you Hellen and Kristina for your help and local recommendations. Note that these are micro-hotel rooms (but not as small as the ones you might see in Paris) and efficiently designed, making it comfortable enough for a short stay in DC. Water filter systems, baggage concierge, and a coffee shop downstairs are just a few amenities that made my stay especially great for my walking tour of all the major sites. The private rooftop bar overlooking the lit up city (to include the Washington Monument) was an impressive late night surprise. So don’t miss it. I didn’t get an opportunity to dine at the restaurant or whiskey bar, so see separate reviews for Crimson DC. I would definitely stay here again, so maybe next time! Note that this hotel is located in Chinatown across from a subway station and a metro bus stop where people tend to gather, day and night. As a solo traveler, I took comfort in knowing that there was plenty of extra security patrol in plain sight.…
Our stay at the Hilton MOTTO was awesome! The staff were very professional and friendly especially, Martin, Terell, and Shalon. Delsi at the cafe was also wonderful and a friendly face to see in the mornings. There is a metro station right across the street which made it really convenient for site seeing and visiting family in the area. We've already said we would definitely stay here again! :)
The receptionist (Hellen) was amazing, kind and attentive! She made us feel welcome. Our room was clean, nice and comfortable. This is our second trip at this hotel. It’s in a nice area of D.C. and within walking distance to many restaurants!
Hosts were so extremely kind, caring, and respectful it’s nearly unreal. We were lost around the city, so we stopped in to get direction and they went completely out of their way to help us around. Wish we could have stayed for the night but they were sold out. In addition, it is beautiful inside—I would absolutely recommend this hotel for any stay!
This was my first time in DC and I would definitely recommend Motto as a hotel to stay in. The Chinatown location has great restaurants and is very close to the Portrait Galley. I was able to walk to many great places. Hellen, Martin and Jessica at the front desk were great. Would definitely stay again if I’m back in DC.
Rooms *are* small but you know that going in. I had not realized how rough this neighborhood has become, and it quickly becomes obvious. Mostly panhandling, hustling and so forth but it's only barely tolerable. The rooms and staff are nice but I will do it again in the future ...
This was our first time staying in a Micro Hotel and I loved every minute. We booked last minute escaping a nightmare DoubleTree Experience and we’re greeted with a warm welcome by Hellen at the front desk. She was able to check us in early which we know wasn’t guaranteed. We had a full sized bed in the room, and although there’s not as much space in the rooms because it’s a micro hotel - we had everything we needed! They designed these really well where there was plenty of storage and stuff wasn’t in the way. It was really the perfect size for two people. I know they offer twin bunk beds as well so if you’re two friends traveling to the city this is the place to be! The rooftop bar served incredible views. The functions within the app to control the lights and TV and Temp worked flawlessly. I’ll be looking for Mottos in other cities we visit in the future! Thanks Hellen for the welcoming and comfortable stay! Also to note - it’s in china town, but the door is locked only for peoples staying access so we felt completely safe and were close to everything and great food!…
