Enjoy staying at this hotel a lot — great bathrooms, comfortable linens, an excellent lobby, and my favorite coffee shop in town because of the wonderful people who work there. I live one street away, but love finding reasons to stay here — I happily offer overnight company my space, grab my bag, and head for The LINE DC.

First, I’ll say I loved the hotel. I thought the vibe was cool, the room was cozy and I loved the large common space in the restaurant. Great neighborhood location close to restaurants and bars. However, the service was just OK hence the 4 stars. Girl at the front desk when we checked in was very unenthusiastic and unfriendly which was disappointing because I was so excited to stay at the hotel.

My son and I stayed here as part of a family gathering and picked the hotel because of its proximity to our family’s get together. We absolutely loved the hotel and would wholly come back here. It was my son’s first time ever visiting Washington DC and the hotel graciously gave him a cookie at check in along with a bottle of their water. He was so happy and the cookie was delicious. The rooms are boutique-like with upper tier amenities and comfortable furnishings. The bed was soft, shower water was hot, and daily housekeeping did a phenomenal job. As others have mentioned, theirs a pay as you go breakfast option in the lobby that was about on par with what you’d spend at a local restaurant in the area and the food quality was good (I.e $6 for a medium latte and $12-14 for a breakfast sandwich). The staff was all supremely nice and accommodating. The only downside to the hotel itself was on the Friday night we were there, there was super loud music, which kept my son and I up until about 100am, followed by the drunk guests hollering in the halls on their way back to their rooms. The hotel is safe. There’s a small park where the local addicts hang out, but it didn’t detract from the hotel and is common to DC these days. Overall, we would happily stay here again and definitely would recommend it.

The Line DC - a hotel that’s lost it’s soul. We recently booked and stayed at The Ned, London (part of the same group as The Line) - so had exciting expectations - particularly after reading the website. On check-out, we’re able to look back on our stay: Welcome/ reception: - This is a soulless space by the car park. It doesn’t reflect the character of the hotel. - The reception staff are the biggest challenge. All polite, but completely lack any form of service and hospitality - the pandemic truly sucked all life, energy and welcome from these people. Really disappointing! - in general, service is poor and lacks any hospitality Facilities: - Half of the hotel is closed. No rooftop. Only one restaurant/bar open. No bikes available. - Water is something the hotel takes the opportunity to make money on. Charging at the bar for tap water and only offering bottled (mini bar) spring water at cost in the room. We’ve stayed at basic hotels who offer this basic need as a complimentary offering. Room: - we booked a monument view room. - don’t bother spending the extra money. You could certainly see something from afar, but certainly doesn’t reflect the difference in money from a room without a monument view - the showers have a combined temp/power mixer - you’re unable to get a powerful cold shower. Only hot - pointless in the hot weather! - although it comes with shower wash etc. there aren’t other toiletries available. I would expect this as a standard from this type of hotel. The Restaurant: - Excellent food and service! - Food is sourced from within 100 miles. Service was knowledgeable and prompt. - I’d thoroughly recommend booking here! In general, the life seems to be sucked from the hotel, lacking in any ambiance, character and soul. Maybe this is due to the pandemic? A hotel is made through its people, the small touches, details and how residents are made to feel. The Line DC don’t understand this and aren’t delivering at the moment. We’d rather stay at another hotel on our return to DC. Don’t bother staying - just eat at the restaurant!

We stayed at The Line last spring for a conference and appreciated the comfortable yet simple design of the rooms as well as of some of the common areas. We were way less impressed by the lobby, which could go down in history as the plainest, less inspired lobby in the history of boutique hotels. As this was our first impression of the hotel, we were concerned but relieved to see it did not reflect the rest of the property. Food and drinks were very good, if repetitive over our conference/stay. Great neighbourhood, especially to run, but a bit out of the main area (a plus or a minus, depending on what brings you to D.C.). We spent more time in cabs, Lyfts, etc... than we would usually would.

Stayed her for 2 nights on a work trip and I thought it was decent enough. My room was very bare bones I thought. But maybe that's the point? Room was not cleaned on my 2 night stay. In fact I left food out in the front hall and it remained there for an entire night and day. The room itself was very spacious and the location is great.

Stayed at The LINE as part of a weekend in DC to celebrate a friend's milestone birthday and had a great experience from start to finish! Loved the location in Adams Morgan and the well thought out aesthetic of the hotel, which was in a cool historic building. Our room was bright, spacious and well appointed. Upon checking in, there was an issue locating our booking (via a 3rd party site) and the front office manager Rachel was so incredibly kind and helpful. She went above and beyond to help us, which was much appreciated.

I stayed here for five nights in early July and loved every moment. The room decor was chic and had lots of nice touches—books, original artwork, great linens. The water pressure was outstanding, and the air conditioning too. A great escape from the 90 degree temps. I'd planned to do a lot of work in my room, but the stunning lobby ended up being so comfortable - lots of chairs, mellow music, and killer coffee from the little cafe there (See Diamond - she makes the best lattes), that I was even more productive there. I highly recommend the hotel for corporate meetings/retreats btw. Lots of private conference rooms and a gorgeous bar. The neighborhood is artsy and hip. It has every kind of cuisine imaginable and little shops. Check out Lost City Books - an independent book store I also never wanted to leave. Finally, the staff at the Line DC are complete pros. Yani at the front desk was especially wonderful. She was really helpful when I had some transit questions and needed a few more pods for the Nespresso machine in my room, and had such a positive attitude even when she had to deal with an impatient guest (who walked away smiling himself after she helped him). She was professional and poised but also sincere and friendly. All hotels need a Yani!

Really nice personnel at the reception. They will try to make your stay go smoothly. Personally I think the hotel needs to be renovated a bit although the rooms are quite nice its old fashioned. Bed are extremely comfortable and AC works amazingly which is a plus.

The staff at the line hotel are amazing. Everyone did a great job of making you feel like you were a king/queen. The restaurant manager, Autumn, introduced herself to me. The food and drinks are very good! I loved the historic hotel. If I had to pick on one thing, it would be the gender neutral restrooms! I am old fashioned, I would rather pee without women around me.
