I joined motorbike trip, organized by travel agency, route Sweden-Poland-Lithuania-Latvia- Estonia-Sweden.

The Lugne hotel has good location, walking distance to attraction in the city. The rooms were so so but who cares when your motorbike has safe parking. We bikers need safe parking for our vehicles and we got it. Breakfast was better than our rooms. The wi-fi was working perfect and was for free, it’s always welcome. Whould I stay again? Yes!

I noticed that this hotel has received mixed reviews and I understand why. From my point of view I thought that the hotel was fine for one night, maybe two at the most. The room was spacious, very hot with no air conditioning and a bathroom that was in need of repairs (e.g no door in the shower cubicle) .

The design of the hotel with its many art paintings was not to my taste at all, however I have read that many travellers found this decor nice.

The hotel is centrally located, a 10 minutes walk from the town centre (go left on leaving the hotel) and about 15 minutes walk to the old ferry terminal where you can take a ferry for the beautiful Curonian Spit. (5 minutes crossing for under 2 euros)

The outside of the Hotel has less to do with design and art, yet as one is entering the Hotel it is a bit like entering a different world. The internal Design is very interesting and for those who like to look at things, will have nearly always something to watch and think about.

Yet i had a short stay, the room and location of the hotel is suitable for a longer stay.
There were some damages in the room which had been reported, now it is to see if they fixed them. Yet in generaly it didn't had much impact on the overall design.

The hotel is close center and one has a max 15 min walk to be in the center/Old Town. Neraby there is a local market during some days,

To mention if you plan a stay, the Hotel parking isn't the one located next to the hotel, that's a public one and you may be charged if you station your car without paying the fee. The Hotel parking is located directly behind the Hotel but has limited space around a 12 to 15 Cars can park without bothering each other.
Also if you want the quiter side, use rooms directed to the backyard, the street is mainly quite but somethimes there are celebrations in the Hotel (mariages, birthdays etc) At this Moment the Hotel bar isn't available for other guests. Also as long the people stay in the special room, your nearly here no noise or music, just if the people go for a smoke or just about to leave, you will hear a bit of the happy party community. Yet this may still be around 0300 clock in the morning.

The breakfast is buffet with a normal choice.

So considering all togehter and considering it will still receive a very good note. hopefully with the necessary attention they will improve over time and handle the smaller mistake.

Stayed here for two weeks - breakfast only egg, bread, cheese slice and some meat slice. All two weeks. Only good thing - coffee 24/7! If you ask for cleaning the room with vaccum, big eye roll. Spider webs everywhere, thin walls, you can hear when others use the toilet.

This hotel, located in a nice place on the edge of Old Town and on the corner of Marketplace, tries to present some "cosy" style and to hide bad one, but does it with a lot of clichees - shelves of old books from 70-80-ies, very mediocre "modern" kitchy paintings etc. Breakfast is also mediocre, reduced continental. Seems that furniture was just moved from some other style hotel, so be aware: bed is 1 m high (definitely above sea level). All the design lacks one thing: attention (or love) to visitors. But staff is friendly and helps very much.

Double bed- two single beds putted together, with wooden frames in the middle.
Not good.
Bed broken, asked to be fixed- replay: no one available on weekend, and we are fully booked. Had to move out after second night, and find another hotel.
Shame

When we came to Klaipeda, lots of hotels were full and overbooked so we really didn't have many options.
Lugne was the best option we had.
Although, comparing it to some hotels we stayed in, it is too expensive for what you get.
The hotel is ok, but nothing special. Rooms are big, actually we had bedroom and a small "living room" and a bathroom. All that sounds great but there was no need for such a big room.
The room was decorated in old fashioned way and everything seemed pretty old, from Soviet era.
The room and the bathroom were clean. The room was a bit noisy because it looked on the street.
The bed was comfortable.
There is actually nothing to complain about, it is simply an average hotel which requires lower price, in my opinion.
There was breakfast included in the price and it was pretty good.
Firstly, they told us that they served breakfast from 9:00 to 10:30 but when we asked for earlier breakfast they let us go earlier, which is positive experience.

Two ladies at the reception were nice and helpful.
The hotel is some 10 minutes walk to the centre...although Klaipeda is a small town and everything is quite near.
To conclude, Lugne is not a bad option, it is good place to stay for a night or two. There is something missing about the hotel....soul...atmospehere...or something to rank it better.

Hotel is in a good location (near old town). Lobby is very cozy, with a fireplace.
We had a luxury apartments, so it was 2 quit big rooms with TV in both of them. Interior style is interesting - with a drawings on the walls. As we had a gift voucher for this trip, we have found candles and rose petals in both rooms :)
Bed was comfortable, not a lot of noise from the outside on the weekend. Till... Monday morning when the builders came from 8:00 to continue changing the roof. From that moment it was impossible to sleep...
Also we did not like the bathroom: toilet seat was cracked and every time you are standing up, it "bites" your butt. The water mixer was very shaky, sink cracked also.

We liked this hotel and the rooms and the 'art' aspect of it is quite lovely. We had visions of vibrant bar, stunning artwork some artists hanging about, music etc. The bar was closed when we were there - both nights. It just lacked any atmosphere at all.
