District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.

We stayed at The Prestige Hotel last weekend on a weekend break. The hotel is in Pest and is in an excellent position by the Szechenyi Bridge giving easy access to all of the tourist attractions in Buda, and all other attractions in all of Budapest either by walking, the metro,

Very nice hotel in a very good location. Almost all the landmarks are walking distance. Chain Bridge and St. Stephen’s Cathedral are only about 5 min walk or less. The Parliament building is also very close. The interior of the hotel room is very modern and pretty. You get a

We picked up a taxi on arrival at the airport, however, I would recommend using the hotel, as they are simply fantastic at arranging anything you may want ! Enjoy your stay at the hotel, it’s the best.

We used the official taxi booth, it was quick and convenient.

Hi we also took a taxi from the airport. It was very well organised and didn’t have to wait too long for the taxi to arrive. The hotel arranged our taxi for our journey to the station and it was also ok.

We are huge fans of arranged transfers. Yes they usually cost a bit more, which I am sure is the case here, but they are super convenient and hassle free and isn't that what a vacation is all about? I can only comment on the transfer to the airport as we came to the hotel via a transfer arranged by the river cruise line. The hotel made the arrangement, the car was waiting for us when we were ready, the driver was very polite and professional and got us to the airport in a timely manner without incident. Now I'm sure that the same could be said for a taxi and many would argue that it isn't worth the added expense but I personally felt more comfortable this way, especially after I had read so many negative comments about taxis in Budapest. I also felt that if something did go wrong the hotel might provide some backup and, although I cannot confirm that, based on the service we received from the Prestige I am almost certain they would have our backs. Good luck and enjoy Budapest, we certainly did!

We booked a taxi transfer through our airline Ryanair. It was about £27 one way, and was straighforward once we landed, a taxi rep had a board with our name on and our taxi was there in a few minutes after that. Easier than getting our own taxi at the airport as quite busy. The hotel arranged a taxi transfer for us back to the airport which was just slightly more. we c
