We stayed at ramada hotel and suits for 5 nights last week. Hotel is very close to the slopes and it has a room to store your skis so it is very convenient for a ski holiday. Unfortunately, the ski room is by the garbage bins of the hotel, in the car park, so it is not really a pleasant trip.
The rooms are very outdated, with red carpets, old curtains, beds and pillows. The most annoying for me was the lack of power sockets, there are two, one in the bathroom and one by the entrance door.. The bathroom was spacious and well looked after.
The hotel gives you access to the pool area by the ramada hotel which is very close by. It is really nice but please note that they charge 2 eur per towel, non refundable fee for each towel, they are not even nice towels.
Breakfast was nothing special, there are lots of fresh fruits, but the coffee on offer was really bad. Hotel is very close to the village and there are a number of good restaurants so we never tried lunch or dinner at the hotel.
Most of the staff is trying their best to be helpful, unfortunately, the hotel is very outdated, lacks any sort of ambience and warmness. It is quiet suprising as this hotel really looks neglected when compared with their sister hotel with its very nice reception / bar area with a fire place.

We love Slovenia, and this hotel is perfectly located to enjoy the beautiful Kranjska Gora and surrounding area.

Regarding the Hotel...

On the positive side, it is very well located with beautiful views (restaurant side, which costs a bit more).
Rooms are comfortable, although our beds were well worn, and could have done with newer mattresses.
Rooms were cleaned daily, towels changed if placed in the bath.
Tap water in the room is lovely, the cold was really nice & cool to drink.
Guests can use the large indoor pools and small fitness room at the nearby sister hotels.
Staff were very friendly.

Only one negative issue, we felt the bottled water at the restaurant was overpriced at €3.50 for 1/2 litre!

Overall, we had a great time. Thank you.

The hotel is simple and slightly outdated but perfect if you are out and about all day. The beds are extremely comfortable!

The buffet was standard with waffles, eggs and a honey bar. The pancake machine was a hit with everyone. Dinner buffet was good too. Travelling with two vegans is always tricky but Albert from the restaurant was absolutely fantastic! We asked if there was anything available and he got the chef to make us dinner! On NYE they made an amazing meal for us, nothing seemed too much trouble for Albert and Nico (restaurant manager). It was a shame that the pizzeria and the ‘Pub Legende’ were closed as it meant dinner at the hotel was limited to just the buffet.

The hotel is in a great location with a small ice rink and bar outside, Intersport for hire over the road and the Mercator next door to intersport. The supermarket had lots on offer including vegan mayo and ham! And some incredible vegan shortbread biscuits! Just a shame it was closed on our last day so we couldn’t bring anything home.

Hotel is part of the HitAlpinea chain which meant you could use the swimming pool, gym and spa at the other Ramada hotel at the bottom of the slopes. Swimming was free which was a great option as the snow wasn’t very good whilst we were there.

Overall a great stay and I would go back, just to see Albert!

no towels, no soap, no toilet paper, nobody cleaned the room for a week stay even though we asked for it to be cleaned several times. cupboards full of dust, dust everywhere, floor not vacuumed. trash was not taken out, also asked for it to be taken out several times. fold out bed was uncomfortable, asked for an extra layer to make it a bit softer, didn't get it. bed linen was not appropriate for the extra bed so it kept sliding off. ski room has defect lockers, sharp pieces of metal stick out, i ripped my ski jacket. everything we asked for was said we will get, then nothing happened. the only thing that was good was the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner, very friendly staff there and tasty food, great variety. but really dissapointed around cleanliness. also, pool charges 2 euros for a laughably small towel. was very uncomfortable at the pool without a proper towel, freezed so i got a sore throat the next days. didn't realize i needed to pack towels for a 4 star hotel, what a sham.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks in June on a holiday booked with Tui. The hotel website and Tui claim it is a 4star hotel with a swimming pool and fitness suite. There are neither in this hotel. The swimming pool is in Ramada Resort and Spa and we were informed that the fitness suite was in Hotel Kompas. We also had to take 12 of our 14 evening meals in the Kompas Hotel over 250 m away, not good if it is pouring with rain! The room was never cleaned properly and the bed linen was never changed during our stay inspite of repeated requests. Towels were often missing from the room and had to be collected by us from reception. After a couple of days a can of beer and wine went missing from the room. This was reported to reception, but no feedback obtained. We had further serious security problems. This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. I would not recommend this hotel. The best thing about it is the view of the mountains!

Firstly I'd prefer to put a 3.5 rating on our stay - but obviously can't.
Be careful when booking a Ramada in Kranjska gora as there is also the Ramada resort just up the road (looks a bit more posh).
First impressions were alot of families with alot of children all around the hotel and reception. Very busy and loud.
Also be very careful with the room you book. Our first room was on the 2nd floor (280) in an area where the large open stairwell and lifts were situated. There was also a family-type open area here with comfy chairs (there is an area like this on all 3 floors) where people congregate, talk, play etc. Well, by 10.30pm I had to complain about the noise of the teenagers playing football, yelling and shouting in this area, effectively right outside our bedroom door! It wasn't a good introduction to the hotel after a day's travel. It eventually settled.
The reception staff (I forget his name sorry) totally understood our complaint and the next day we were moved to the top floor in a much quieter and nicer room/suite (377).
Aside from this, the breakfast and dinner are plentiful, varied and tasty and the staff are all very friendly, helpful and efficient. We didn't use the bar area.
The hotel whilst we were there appeared mostly to be geared-up for families and school groups but this didn't stop us enjoying our stay.
Kranjska gora is a beautiful town and the locals are all very friendly.

This was the worst 4* hotel we ever been (and we travel a lot).
Room was good size, plenty of space in the bathroom, very nice view to the mountain and slopes, good sound isolation. And that is it.
The room was kind of empty, with old and destroyed furniture, with just one chair, without house keeping ladies (Korona they say - I say indolence and lack of stuff),
there was no kettle or coffee machine (we talking 4 * here), they put only sheet on additional bed (WE put under quilt to make it even), only 1 pillow per person, we have to go to reception for soap, wc paper or clean towels, and the lady with the glasses on the reception was pretty unkind. The kindest person was Maitre d hotel. There is no value for money here...

Great hotel location and got value for every cent spent there.
Included in the price is a lavish buffet breakfast. With en extra €16 p.p. you can also have a buffet dinner. Overall food charge is not expensive but drinks are on the high side compared to food pricing. The rooms are impeccably clean with beds having clean white sheets. The staff are very friendly. I cannot not mention the restaurant manager Nico, he is so professional in his job (Thank you Nico). Parking is not a problem as there is plenty of parking space. Language is not a problem if you speak only English because many Slovanians speak good English.
My first time in Slovenia and wont be my last, both to the country with breathtaking views & scenery and to this hotel.

Thanks and keep it up.

the hotel is near the town center, exactly opposite to the ski rent shop and with a quick walk you are on the slopes. Reception and personnel are incredibly kind and helpful. The Restaurant is big, social distancing is in place and very good food is served. The Maitre is a very lovely gentleman. the hotel also offers ski boxes downstairs free from charge. An incredible pool overlooking the slopes is available in the twin hotel nearby. I would definitely recommend and we are already thinking of coming back next year.

This is a nice hotel, conveniently situated near ski slopes, ski rent shop and ski school, but also close to the shops and restaurants. Perfect for skiing trip, children friendly and very comfortable. Good value for money.

Do you hire bicycles and if so how much?
Answer from David A
Birmingham, United Kingdom12 contributions34 helpful votes
Adrian, there are plenty of bike hire shops. We didn't hire any, but did look at prices. As far as I can remember, for standard mountain bike, it was about 9 or 10 euros for an hour, about 12 for 2 hours, and I think 17ish for half a day. Probably a few more for a whole day. E-bikes are also available, but obviously cost a fair bit more.

Only just seen your query, there is a leisure centre complex in the Ramada Hotel and you will find a spa there. Very helpful staff and a very clean and beautiful leisure complex. Hope this helps.
