Upon arriving I thought I’d pulled up outside an abandoned hotel. Outside really unkept and full dead plants and weeds, even signs to reception weren’t clear. We drove around to the rear of the property to find it worse than the front! Tentatively went and tried the door where the reception arrow kind of pointed to find it open (to my amazement!) only to be greeted with a cold dark dirty what I’m guessing was a reception at some point with a A4 note stating to find my name on an envelope which would have instructions of how to get to where I was staying. To my amazement there were approximately 8-10 envelopes all with peoples full names in full view (which I personally would consider a breech of confidentiality or GDPR!). We stayed in one of the studios which appear to be a fairly new addition to the grounds which are nice but have a few things I think need to be considered. To make things a bit easier I am just going to go room by room: Garden: is a lovely size and has a lovely hot tub all warmed up ready for use on arrival, however this is sat on a patch of gravel surrounded by astroturf, when walking in the astroturf, which you cannot avoid to get to the entrance to the studio, you are met with wet soggy squelchy ground. My guess would be they empty the hot tub directly onto the “grassed”’area as it hadn’t rained in the few days before our stay. Fence panels were only half pained and swayed terribly in the slightest but of wind. The hot tub temperature is set and cannot be adjusted by the customer. Steps into the apartment are quite deep and there is no handrail. However garden is clean and tidy. Main room/bedroom: room is a really good size with lots of space internally with a high ceiling, however, sofa was terribly stained and in a position underneath the tv therefore the only place you can sit to watch the tv was in bed. There is only one radiator to heat the whole apartment which is right next to the entrance door. The radiator is on a timer that again is set and controlled by the owner and cannot be over ridden or adjusted by the customer. This was simply not enough to keep us warm. Although the owner did bring us a small electric heater, we had this running at all times just to keep us fairly comfortable. No door into the kitchen area either which just means the heat isn’t kept in. Headboard for bed covers the sockets on one side of the bed which meant they couldn't be used. Bed was comfy however quite soft and is made up of two single beds zipped together which means there is a ridge down the middle of the bed. No doors on the what I can only assume was a wardrobe (runners are still in place) and a place for an iron however this was missing. Bathroom: again the bathroom was a good size with a bathtub and walk in shower and was lovely and clean, however, the only place you can get anything other than warm ish water was the bath and this was only when the heating was on. Waterfall shower had poor pressure and again could only get to “warm” which when trying to shower after being in hot tub wasn’t great. There was splashes/drop of white paint in the bath and timescale around mixture tap on sink. The owner had supplied a number of toilet rolls, a bath mat and towels. But is was only one hand towel and two bath towels. Kitchen: is very small compared to rest of apartment. Owner had supplied washing up liquid and a sponge. Again was very clean however a few point to note. Could have done with supplying instructions on how to use the cooker/hob. The cooking area is very small and you are only able to get one person in there at a time. The only window in the apartment is in the kitchen however has no blind or even nets so people from car park outside and main road can see straight in. Only 2 saucepans supplied with a frying pan. No wooden spoons so had to cook using metal serving spoons on metal saucepans. No sharp knife’s either!! There is a breakfast bar in the kitchen area with two stools however the microwave is also on this small space which meant only one person can eat the the breakfast bar at a time, meaning one of us had to eat at the dressing table in the bedroom. Overall the finish of the apartment just feels very rushed and not thought out fully. There was no real road noise apart from the odd boy racer going up and down the main road, even when sat out in hot tub it wasn’t enough to disturb us. A pleasant enough weekend was had by both me and my partner but unfortunately probably wouldn't stay again and not up to usual hoseason breaks we have booked in the past.

Stayed in a lodge for 4 nights. Lodge was clean, well equipped for self catering stay. Hot tub was fab after a day out exploring the area. Downside we had no heating for the duration of our stay which in October wasn't great. We made them aware if this on several occasions and were told they would try to sort, which never happened as we still didn't have any heating in bedroom, and came on for short period in bathroom, as we were using hot tub and showering each day this wasn't good either, had to ask for dry towels and couldn't dry them..no solution to this problem left us disappointed and sadly would put us off returning.

Booked for a long weekend away with the kids. Lodge site is quick find off the M5, Was a bit dark on arrival but all good, we found the lodge and it was warm and inviting, and very well fitted out and spacious. The furniture and fittings are actually full size not miniature like at some places! WiFi works perfectly, heating and water all Hot, hot tub clean and great to use, everything we expected. Site was peaceful and very chilled out hardly saw anyone else. Parking close by to the lodge and the site is located near to weston-super-mare for the shops and beach and we ventured to cheddar gorge for a day out also. Loved it, would go again and would highly recommend. Once site is finished it will be amazing, we weren’t disturbed by any works or anything else. The site was a bit muddy, but it was raining hard on arrival so as expected really. We have torches on our phones so finding the lodge was easy enough. Really well priced and we thought it was all perfect. Thanks Karen and team.

Just back from a wonderful stay at Rookery Manor, we stayed Monday to Friday in one of the Suites 2 adults and our dog, was the perfect stay away. Was very clean and extremely well presented. We were welcomed by Helen who was extremely welcoming and always on hand if you needed anything no matter how small or big. Then when checking out we asked if there was availability for the weekend, Where Myself and a friend and my dog ended up staying in the 2 bed flat 1 Meadows from Friday until this morning. Again Helen was there to check us in and was very welcoming and helpful. Helen was always on hand for anything we may have needed, Ian the Owner was very friendly and accommodating too and huge thank you, to Ian and Helen for accommodating us for the extra few days. I would highly recommend staying at Rookery I’ve been stay here 3 years in a row since attending a wedding in 2014 as a teenager and having a stay in the main Manor House which also was beautiful. Previous years I’ve stayed in Plum lodge and Beech Lodge and both of these were an absolute pleasure to stay in, well presented, clean and in peaceful private location. The surrounds are extremely peaceful and the grounds are immaculate. 2 locals pubs with great food and drinks both really reasonably priced. But local shops and petrol stations if you drive within 10 mins from the site itself. We also spent an afternoon in the Spa facility’s which was a perfect ending to our stay staff welcoming and attentive. We used the offer of £40 for the afternoon of using facility within the spa and 1 treatment of your choice which I would highly recommend. Overall again what a wonderful stay at such an amazing place and I would recommend staying here to anyone, family’s, friends, couples. It caters all. See you again soon and again huge thank you to Helen and Ian.

Mould in the fridge. Couldn’t find staff, car park pitch black. Furniture so old. Couch stained and beds so squeaky, damp on walls. Sink leaked into the cabinet below and then all over the floor. Were told we could be charged damage fees which is laughable considering the state of the place

We stopped at Pear Tree lodge at Rookery Manor for 4 nights. 2 adults, 2 children and a dog. The lodge was extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. Probably the best we've stayed in. Having a washing machine and dishwasher was also great. The addition of Netflix meant we could chill out as a family and watch films together whilst it was raining outside. The hot tub was lovely and we used this every day. Karen was great, very friendly and helpful, she even posted back something we had left at the lodge, which was really kind. The enclosed section for the dog was perfect and meant we could let him out to do his business without worrying of him escaping. There is a local farm shop down the road which we used for emergency milk and they do a fantastic pasty. All in all, the weather wasn't great but the holiday was really great and relaxing.

We had the best long weekend break here. From meeting the lady on reception who personally showed us to our lodge to leaving 4 days later. The lodge itself is furnished beautifully and had a very cosy feel to it. The view from our window was great. The hot tub was perfect! If we HAD to leave any negative feedback at all it would be that the sofas, although they look stylish and modern, they’re quite uncomfortable when you want to collapse in front of the log fire and tv. They were positioned awkwardly too facing each other so it wasn’t comfy to watch tv but we easily rearranged them ourselves. The lodge could do with a coffee table too to put your cup on whilst sat on the sofa and it could maybe do with a small lamp in the living area. But apart from that, perfection!! There’s nothing to do on the site other than the spa that we were unable to book but you’re quite close to Weston Super Mare, Wookey Hole and the beautiful Cheddar Gorge. We had a fabulous time visiting these areas. We noticed there was a restaurant onsite but unfortunately it’s closed. There’s a pub not far called Hobbs Inn or something that was nice and does a great premier inn breakfast!! Thank you Rookery Manor for a fabulous break. Would definitely return!

Went for a Spa Day here on a bit of a whim. £60 for a spa day with a treatment. Pretty good value! Firstly the good bits. Nice massage with a lovely therapist. Outdoor hot tubs are nice on a good weather day. Steam Room was nice. Bad bits. Hydrotherapy 'Pool' not really a pool just a big plunge pool. You can't swim and it's in need of repair. The side jets did not work. There are a real lack of showers in the pool area. Only one next to the Sauna and Steam room that needed descaling and unblocking. There was a good inch or two of water in the bottom that never drained away so you had to step into other people's sweaty shower water!! Also it was warm water only which isn't what you want after a Steam. The Sauna some of the wood was coming away on the walls. The changing rooms were poor as well. Small, cramped, no pegs next to the showers for towels or robes, and the Pain of glass between the cubicles was barely frosted so not 'ahem' very private. Also the shower grate was full of hair. Not just a bit, which you would expect... Masses of it. YUCK. This was however better than the men's changing facilities which are non existent. Got chatting to a lady whose husband had to change in the toilet! The facility needs some maintenance and some thought and care putting into it. I won't go back but it was okay for the money.

Nice place and yes very relaxing. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the place isn’t that great. Could do with some tlc. Also need to be given a choice in robe sizes as not one fits all I’m afraid. Overall I came out feeling relaxed.

Booked a lodge with hot tub in January for 11th July and got a phone call from my independent travel advisor today (Fri 8th) to say that the park had been sold so there was no holiday for us. Bitterly disappointed and stressed as Hoseasons were not able to find us a like for like lodge without charging us extra although they did offer a discount towards this it still didn’t feel fair. I understand that it’s not Hoseasons fault but I did purchase the holiday through their branding. I’ve asked for a full refund which could take up to a month to process and meanwhile trying to source other accommodation for Monday as my son, his fiancé and I have all booked the week off. They are moving house and having a baby soon so this break was much needed as a ‘calm before the storm’. Our travel advisor tried her best to find us other Hoseason accommodation but none to our specification unfortunately. Also throw a dog into the mix and choices are limited. Disgraceful behaviour Rookery Manor especially as I spoke to you on the phone a few days ago to provide our car registration. I will be taking further action.
