Chevin Country Park Hotel & Spa is certainly a unique destination with a distinctly Alpine feel and the hotel itself happens to be the UK’s largest log cabin. Built from imported Swedish logs, it stands at the shore of a small lake, surrounded by birch forest, interspersed with log cabins. Tiptoe through the woods to your Executive cabin with outdoor hot tub, or opt for standard log cabin accommodation or a self-catering suite with kitchenette. Standard rooms and executive rooms with lake views are in the main hotel and this is also where you’ll find the free Wi-Fi (which doesn’t cover the rambling 44 acres of forest.)

Amazing over night stay in Bronte Lodge. 5 ladies celebrating my 60th birthday! Easy check in, lovely lodge, clean, eveything we needed and more, lots of towels, robe and slippers for everyone. Used hot but afternoon, night and next morning, was really hot and inviting! We also had evening meal and breakfast, thank you Otley Chevin Hotel for a lovely stay. 👏👏

My partner took me here for my birthday getaway. The staff were all lovely and helpful. I enjoyed the quiet nature of the hotel and spa. The food at the restaurant was divine. It was quite basic in terms of facilities but that is reflected in the price of the stay. Cannot fault anything as everything was as described. One guest was complaining about everything every time I came across them, which put a damper on things as no one wants to be around a whinger!!

Myself and two adult daughters stayed in a family suite on ground floor (I have mobility problems). This was double bedroom and upstairs beds. Very comfortable and very clean. Being on the ground floor there were French doors looking out over the lake. It was lovely and peaceful and brilliant for a girlie time together. On arrival we were given a bottle of chilled Prosecco and a box of chocolates - very nice! We had a two course evening meal which we all thought was delicious. We hadn’t been for a long time ( I have been many times almost since it first opened) . But a couple of years or so ago I wasn’t really impressed. However it has improved since then and we were all very happy. We recognised some of the staff from staying previously who were really pleasant and helpful (Tracy being one of them- thank you Tracy). We shall definitely be back. I will also have a stay with my husband.

We stayed for 2 nights Sunday to Tuesday for my 40th birthday. The hotel and grounds were very pretty on arrival. We were a little bit early for check in, but assured this was not a problem as our room was already ready. The room was warm, cosy, and the bed incredibly comfortable. First night, we had dinner in the restaurant which was both reasonably priced and tasted amazing. The following morning breakfast was also very tasty with a good selection. We had a minor problem with the bath, but after a call to reception, we were immediately upgraded, which was totally unexpected and the chap on the phone couldn't have been more helpful. The upgraded suite was fabulous again, nice soft and comfy bed etc. Of all of the places we have ever stayed, I think the Chevin has to have the most friendly and polite staff. At no point did it feel like it was a forced friendliness, always like they are genuinely pleased to see you. They are an absolute credit to the company. Thank you.

Our children bought us a 2 night break at Chevin Country Park as a Christmas present. We stayed in a Wood cabin, no 51. Our whole stay was perfect, no complaints at all. The food was gorgeous, the staff were brilliant, big shout to Samantha (Sam) in the restaurant thank you for your service, attention to detail and your customer service skills. The outside hot tub at the spa was luxurious, we were in there both mornings at 7am. We will certainly be back 10/10 thank you Jackie and Pete

Well, where to start? We’ve just had 2 fabulous nights here and have been royally spoilt! We booked for our wedding anniversary, when we arrived they had upgraded our room and there was a cute anniversary card on the bed. The staff and service has been wonderful, Ann-Marie and James on reception going above and beyond, Josh and Archie at the bar, and McKenzie in the restaurant, all an absolute credit to the hotel. We ordered pate for starters, pork chop and Amaze burger for mains and all were top notch! We had a lovely afternoon in the spa, then headed into Otley for drinks. There’s some lovely walks and a couple of local villages if you want to head out for a night or catch the Saturday markets. On our last morning we had breakfast in bed, and again totally exceeded our expectations. Selection of continental, full English, toast, and coffee. All super fresh, hot and delicious! If you’re thinking about booking, do it, you won’t be disappointed.!

I arrived with 2 friends for a mum getaway, the hotel was beautiful upon arrival, the aesthetic of the building and the rooms was so cosy and rustic. The room was large, very clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. The views from the room, dining room and garden lounge was beautiful. It was so relaxing, with the spa facilities also not being a far car journey from the city centre. Breakfast was lovely with lots of options, also very fresh. Would definitely visit again for our next getaway.

My partner & I have just returned from a two night stay - Throughout the past few years, we have stayed quite a few times & always look forward to returning. The hotel reception, dining area & bar are super cosy with reasonably priced drinks. Both evenings we ate a two course meal (included in our booking deal) which we both really enjoyed & couldn't fault - With the same being said for breakfast both mornings too. The staff are incredibly accommodating & service was 10/10 too. We stayed in a room inside the hotel - As with previous rooms which we have stayed in, they are very dated & could do with a little TLC, however this doesn't bother us too much. The room which we were given was very small in size - The smallest we have stayed in & did struggle with space - For example: no bedside tables - However for only two nights, it wasn't a huge deal. The shower wasn't very powerful & the water temperature was only luke-warm, however the water temperature for both the bath & sink were hot. It was lovely that our room looked out onto the lake & we were greeted occasionally by the geese from the lake, exploring on the grass outside of our room, which was nice to watch. We used the leisure facilities first thing both mornings, so this was free, rather than paying £20PP to use later in the day. Again, the spa could do with some TLC - The outdoor hot tub wasn't working correctly on both mornings - The water was very murky, foamy & appeared to not be refilling correctly. On the second morning, the inside hot tub jets weren't working. The sauna & steam room are very small in size, however due to the early morning & the small quantity of people, this wasn't a problem. There's a lovely forest walk around the hotel & we also walked to a place called 'Surprise View', which one of the forest trails lead to (around a 10 minute walk from the hotel). Unfortunately, the first night we had very noisy neighbours - We seemed to be in the middle of their two rooms - At 22.20, they all returned to one of the rooms & played loud music, were singing, shouting & slamming doors as they wandered between both of their rooms. Annoyingly, this went on until 02.40 when the noise finally stopped - During this, we attempted to phone reception however there was no answer. We noticed from early evening, these people were being served large quantities of alcohol from the bar & were also buying quantities of drinks & taking these in the direction of their room for later before returning to the bar again. We've no problem with people having fun & enjoying themselves & wouldn't have even minded if the music was played etc & then stopped at a reasonable time I.e: 23.00, however for this to continue until 02.40 & to have our next day spoilt by being incredible tired due to lack of sleep, is incredibly inconsiderate. It's also very annoying that no night porters walked past the corridor & were aware of the noise for how many hours it continued. We did speak to management the next morning to ensure that different guests would be using their rooms the next night, as if so, we would have requested to move. The manager who we spoke to was apologetic about this, however we do feel that more could have possibly been done to rectify this situation, especially as this was the only thing that hugely let down our stay.

Food - Breakfast and Evening Meal were really good. Only thing was at 7pm they had run out of one of the starters which was the only thing on the starters menu that we both liked, and first sitting only started at 6pm. Breakfast the next morning there were still crumbs and food from the night before under the tables. Staff - Courteous, friendly and polite. Room - the shower was fixed to a sloping ceiling … and so was the shower curtain that was impossible to pull across and stop water going over the bath side, hence the floorboards at the side of the bath were giving way ! Had to ring and request dry dressing gowns, the ones hung up on the back of the bathroom door were absolute wet through … the kind gentleman who brought replacements apologised and said they were from the last visitors and had been missed on the turnover. Cleanliness - Shoking !! Dust everywhere in our room, on the desk, bed side drawers, lamp bases, telephone, tv, bed head - This room had not been cleaned for weeks … inside the drawers there was a sticky substance (like from a melted sweet) so we couldn’t put clothes in there. The handles were not all there on the drawers. The sink had scum rings round it so this had not been cleaned either. After evening meal on night 1 we sat up in the loft area …. All the tables had ring marks from drinks and the dust again was rife ! Night 2 we sat in the lounge area, again, dirty. Tables had empty glasses on and even when a member of staff walked past they didn’t even take them away. The whole place needs a massive overhaul and bottoming. The view from the restaurant looked out onto green stained glass balustrades, decking, chairs and tables. Unfortunately wouldn’t recommend or go back.
