Detailed Reviews
Stayed at Raga On The Ganges for two nights and three days.
Our booking plan was inclusive of breakfast and one meal. Upon checking in, we were upgraded to a cottage room because the initial room had some glitches. The upgrade was quick and hassle free. Shout out to the GM Mr. Singh and his staff for being courteous, hospitable and efficient at all times.
The meals at the hotel were fresh and enjoyable. We were surprised that we were given the option to choose our food items for the three course meal (included in tariff) from the a la carte menu (contrary to usual buffet setup), which was a refreshing change.
The overall vibe of the property was quaint and relaxing. The location of the property is surreal and worth the extra minutes of drive from mainland Rishikesh.

We stayed here for 3 nights in Oct 2021 in room #103. The corner suite was well furnished, spacious, and offered a beautiful view of the hills due to the floor to ceiling glass walls. The room opens out into a sitting area and over looks the Ganges.
Special Thanks to Birender Singh who went out of the way to get a mechanic to fix my car. Sandeep who arranged all kinds of special activities for the children and Chef Alok Rawat for cooking some tasty local dishes for us. We strongly recommend that you try the local mutton bhuna gosht. We were also attended very well in the restaurant for our meals.
The property is very well laid out with beautiful terraces, seating areas and swings and a pool all overlooking the Ganges and the forest hills. There are steps leading down to the river where you could dip your feet and relax. Beware of monkeys though.
The resort has tie-ups for rafting and hiking. We chose the easier hiking route and the experience was well worth the trip. For the more adventurous, there is another trail which has a waterfall and an old shiv temple enroute. Contact Sandeep Kundu, the activities manager before you travel.
Opportunity areas- Room Maintenance: Given it was suite, we had to manage with a leaking basin and a non functional geyser. We had to manage with hot water buckets till the issue was fixed the next morning.
Travel tips: The drive to resort from Delhi was great. we stopped at Khatauli bypass for breakfast. The hill drive was for an hour with many landslides on the way. On our way back we stopped at Sarovar Portico Haridwar for lunch.

Raga is brilliant. Views are superb. Only the shower areas require some mantainance. Apart from this everything is perfect. Some rooms are located quite above and stairs will be difficult for senior citizens. However the excellent team at raga will go to limits to make your stay comfortable. As my mother was having difficulty climbing stairs they readily upgraded our room to a cottage to make it convenient for her. The cart driver, Stewart's, cleaners and everybody is ready on their toes to go an extra mile to assist you. A special shout to Ms. Rajni, you don't need to worry about anything when she is around.
Buffet and all meals are great as well. It is highly recommended for family.

Property is located on the outskirts of rishikesh which is a big plus. Road conditions are also very good. Raga is located just after taj rishikesh with breath taking views.Food was good, on request they prepared few dishes which were not mentioned in menu. Thanks to the chef and restaurant manager.
Now the big turn off is their service, the tariff which they are charging based on that the service is pathetic. Starting from the guy who is sitting at reception till the house keeping.
I was traveling with my wife and baby & they expect that we climb uphill with steep slope. They asked us to walk at the time of checkout, after forcing a lot they agree to send the buggy.
If you need a house keeping then don't expect they will pick your call, everytime u need to call reception and then they will inform them and it will take 30 to 45min.
Suggestion - Don't take cottage 305, it will spoil your privacy

I and my wife visited the property in the first week of February, 2023 for a 3 day 2 night trip. At the time of booking, we were looking for a quiet property with a scenic setting and a good spa. After going through various reviews we felt that Raga on the Ganges matched our requirements. I will try to be comprehensive with my review as much as possible but due to such a short stay, I don't think I would be able to do justice to the property as a whole.
Property is amply visible from the road. Parking is not possible inside the premises since the property is situated on a steep incline (hats off to the architect who designed it). However, parking is available in front of the property adjacent to the road which is more than sufficient. For safety, there is a guard chamber manned by security guards so no worries on that front.
On entering we were politely greeted by the reception staff and offered a tasty welcome drink (mango and butterscotch mix). Checkin was a breeze and we were on our way to our room within 5 minutes of arriving. They have golf carts to ferry passengers to and fro from various points of the property. We never had to wait for more than 5 minutes for the cart to arrive to our room despite the property being busy at that time.
I was informed that their swimming pool was temperature controlled but we did not go for a swim so I can't comment on that.
Housekeeping service is ably managed by Mr. Sudarshan. We had to ask for housekeeping in late evening and we were dreading that they would say a no (most 5 stars don't do housekeeping after late evening), but we were happy when Mr. Sudarshan got the housekeeping done and that too with a big smile.
Coming to their restaurant 'The Buran's', the food here is sumptuous and a treat to have. Mr. Dinesh and Mr. Jaypal were gracious hosts who understood our palette and recommended dishes to us. Their warmth and genuine smile made the experience more pleasant. They surprised us with an inhouse anniversary cake which was delicious. Mr. Ashish, the executive chef met us and was more than eager to help us discover dishes from the Garhwal region. Also, he makes killer Asian food so Asian food lovers are in for a treat. My personal recommendation would be to try the Garhwali Thali (on a empty stomach).

While the location was splendid, the service was horrendous.
First, the shower fittings were almost broken (room 107) and there was no hot water.
Second, either the property was heavily understaffed or they were genuinely lazy and laid back in serving the guests. We had to wait for an hour and a half for ONE sandwich ordered in the room. Even after placing the order for dinner, we were served after TWO hours.
Third, the breakfast starts at 7:30 am, we went in at around 7:45 am and Nothing was in order till then. If there was toaster and jam, there were no breads. If there was milk and cereal, there were no bowls to eat it in. Tired, we left after waiting for 40 minutes. Oh btw, it wasn’t properly set even until we left.
Annoyed, I went to the room and ordered a cappuccino. It was never served.
Overall pathetic service. Very badly maintained properly. Won’t recommend anyone to stay here unless you want a troublesome holiday

Definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a great stay at really reasonable prices for what it offers. The resort has unparalleled views and a morning walk to go to an isolated river beach. The highlights are definitely the location and the food, Chef Alok Rawat and his team, including the kind servers, serve really fresh, delicious food and make you feel at home.

Our stay at the Raga was truly an experience. From the moment we entered the property, there was certainly abundant tranquility in the vibes. The walk to the rooms was a feel of a walk thru the woods. The rooms had the heritage feel with modern design to balance, with the balcony opening up into the flowing Ganges.
The food, be it breakfast lunch or dinner was just super.. courtesy chef Alokji.
Varun Sharma- heading operations at the place was available with a smile at the blink of your eye to make the stay more pleasant.
Enough and more of little and everything was Justin site.
A must must must place to be for all planing a Rishikesh trip.

+1
A scenic place located in singathali village, almost 1.5-2 hours drive from Dehradun airport depending upon the traffic. Lush green lawns, spiral pathways to walk around the whole property. The view of Ganges is spellbounding indeed from the terrace. For adventure lovers, morning and evening hikes are available with a guide. As we didn't carry our sports shoes and older relatives were with us, so we skipped the activity for this time. Evening tea and cookies are served at the beautiful terrace, where one can watch waves in the resplendent Ganges for long hours.Food is also commendable, neat, hygienic dining hall with lovely sitting arrangement. Dinner and breakfast, both were appreciated by our guests and us. I went for a long morning walk on the serpentine pathways of the resort, a different experience and full of fresh air for your lungs. Rooms are big enough in size, ventilation is adequate, handblock print on bedsheets and curtains were eye catching.
There's a beautiful tiny library for book 📚📖 lovers like myself, with play area. Something to engage everyone around. The cottages looks pretty when you are returning after aarti in the evening. Yes, they conduct an elaborate aarti for in house guests in the evening. Overall, a nice weekend trip to rejuvenate us and definitely would love to come back whenever the time permits.
