Atali Ganga, Rishikesh is possibly north India's most exciting active holiday destination. Located near Atali Dogi in the valley of the Upper Ganges, guests can expect a fun filled weekend. Choose to go mountain biking, try out our excellent High Ropes course, wall climbing, abseil, hike, camp, inflatable kayak, raft, learn the "Eskimo roll" in our pool before taking on the river. Sip sundowners after a long day outdoors, and dine under the stars. Surrounded by reserved forest on all sides, Atali is nestled away from the crowded strip downstream, and will be a great option for a quick getaway for the discerning traveller. The USP of Atali, Ganga is also the spanking new High Ropes Course, one of the fastest growing outdoor and team building activities. It will challenge you, inspire you, and at times, humble you. Come, check in! Caution : We are spread over a hillside ( travelling with infants or elderly will need to walk to their cottages) ; we have no TV in the rooms

Atali Ganga is highly regarded for its exceptional service, with guests consistently lauding the staff's professionalism and helpfulness, although a rare complaint was noted regarding charges for baby food. The hotel's amenities and activities, set against a backdrop of natural beauty, cater to both relaxation seekers and adventure enthusiasts.
Its serene atmosphere is complemented by clean, spacious rooms, which many find offer good value despite some criticisms about additional costs. The scenic location near the tranquil Ganga River further enhances the guest experience, as does the hotel's commitment to cleanliness throughout the property.

Detailed Reviews
Atali Ganga is a beautiful resort that I have visited before and like very much. The staff, especially the ones who conduct kayaking and rafting are simply excellent. Vikas and Jitender helped us enjoy both the sports with their expertise and enthusiasm. Somna was very prompt and helped arrange rooms for us again at the last moment. The kitchen staff were courteous and came and returned an expensive cashmere stole they found, that I had left behind in the dining area. Covid protocol was followed by the staff.
Atali is generally a peaceful place aimed at the traveler looking for a quiet retreat and interesting adventure activities. The food is a fixed menu and hygienic, though in terms of taste and variety, it used to be better before. I would recommend the Garhwali cuisine especially the millet dishes and the local sag/kapli.
Our visit was marred by a very noisy group from Delhi, who played loud music till very late into the Christmas night and made a racket. I wish that travelers looking for party and noise would leave such serene forest locations alone, especially since the rooms do not even have televisions and are aimed at encouraging guests to explore the environs peacefully.
The wi fi facility is sadly inadequate. The prices have seen a steep increase which is sad for a resort known for its elegant simplicity in the past.

Dear Namita, Thank you so much for your review of Atali, we are truly grateful for the time and effort you have taken out to record your views. As you are well aware, ATALI is also an acronym that further expands to an 'Aqua Terra Alternate Lifestyle Initiative'. It is a resort that attempts to move away from the regular vacation experience. As an 'Activotel', the entire experience emphasizes on an intimate, hands-on outdoor experience along with the comfort of returning to a home. We have noted your feedback on the room space and the menu and are appreciative of the same. As you are aware, our rates are all-inclusive, including all meals, evening snacks, soft beverages, outdoor activities, and all taxes. As a comparison to other properties that offer only a room and breakfast pricing, our comprehensive package is not only better priced but is also a significantly higher value-offer and experience. We are extremely apologetic about the noise that a particular group was making, we assure you that this is a very rare occurrence, and that we do not encourage this odd behavior. Most guests are cognizant of the offering and respect each others boundaries at Atali ; we are sorry you ran into some who did not. On behalf of the entire team at Atali and Aquaterra, we sincerely thank you for visiting us and we look forward to the opportunity of hosting you again. Warn Regards, Somna Misra Team Atali Ganga and Aquaterra Adventures

We visited Atali Ganga along with another family. From the time of booking to the time of check out we had excellent experience at the property. Somna from the booking team had ensured that our special needs(with the infant and nanny) are met. They also guided us on obtaining permit to enter Uttarakhand state.
The experience went a notch up on the day of the journey with HP(Happy Person, as he calls himself) giving us a call and also sharing him google location with and occasionally checking in on us. The roads were not great and the drive up there was quite draining, but the regular check in from the resort kept our morale high. They were also sweet to reserve some lunch for us though we checked in at 4pm
The rooms were quite small and we would have expected a slightly spacious room. But each cottage had its own balcony and are located a bit far from each other. The climb up and down from the room to reception can become quite taxing and would advise to book rooms near the cafe. For the same reason, I guess, they do not have inroom dining facilities. But the activities offered by the resort are aplenty that one would rarely be inside the room.
The view of the Ganges and hills from the property is awesome, especially at sunset. The decks are also great to have yoga/workout sessions by the Ganges. There was no room cleaning regularly, and did cleaning only on request, perhaps due the pandemic guidelines. Food at the cafe was quite basic, but was very yummy and healthy. They also did pack food for us on our return journey.
Thank you for a very memorable and relaxing weekend. Will definite recommend this property to friends and family.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
The good things first:
The location of the property is great. Some of the rooms have good view of the Valley/Ganga. Room No.9 is most sought after so ask for that if you book in advance.
The rafting was professionally managed with decent clean equipment. Our guide Sanjay was excellent and we had a great time. I have done rafting 4 times before in Rishikesh but my experience at Atali was definitely the best.
They organise an evening tea/kayaking session next to a beach. Good arrangement of tea, water and biscuits. The place is beautiful to see the sunset and the Kayaking (more like a joy ride with an instructor) which is fun!
Tip: You WILL get wet so carry a change along. DO NOT wear flip flops. Its a 2-3 minute walk from the road to the beach with unstable patches.
The rooms and bathrooms at the property were well appointed. Please bear in mind that as the property is on a hill, there is alot of steep steps and walking to reach your room. Please pick your room wisely. Somna who takes care of reservations should help you understand this better.
The service at the restaurant and the deck area was great during the meals and evenings with prompt and well trained staff.
Now the bad things:
There were a lot of confusion regarding consumption of food and drinks near/around the pool area between the members of management available on the phone and available on site. We were stopped one day but specially called and offered to do the same thing another day.
One of our rooms had an expired Milk Powder sachet. (And now to be absolutely fair to them) Upon checking our other rooms as well as Atali's store's stock, we couldn't find any other expired sachet. So this was really strange.
The water in your rooms is kept in glass bottles refilled on request. Just that for the refill, the staff was seen dipping their fingers in the jug while pouring water into the bottles. Neither hygienic, nor acceptable during Covid times.
One last thing. You know you are booked out. There is no place for your guests to go out nearby to eat. So you have to cater for enough food for everyone within the prescribed time of the certain meal. Twice this happened. Once they ran out of a dessert and once they ran out of one of the dishes. Kind of not acceptable when you are paying in advance for your full board stay!
Overall, minus the minor hiccups (which I believe are fixable in case they take reviews seriously) the stay was comfortable!

Dear Zorawar, Thank you for your note and for coming to visit us and we are happy your river experience was the best till date. Thank you also for the feedback, which we took note of as it happened, and we apologise for the oversight. We have had our entire inventory rechecked and am sorry this slipped through the net. We normally do not allow drinks in the pool, and there was some confusion re the understanding on lounger use, which is why you were made that request. Running out of food is a very rare occurrence and i hope you will forgive us for it, and allow us to make it up to you with a very special Atali gesture on your next trip. Warm regards Vaibhav

it was one of the worst stay at any four star hotel we came across. for the coktails they served us two consequtive nights paneer and mix kabab so on third day i called twice chef to meet but he did not come and again we were served paneer .....they have policy not to clean room unless we tell them which nobody informed us while checking in briefing which lasted for 20/25 minutes normally in this category of hotel rooms should be sterlized atleast 2/3 times a day. while booking they told us river ganga is just a small walk away after short drive of 3/4 minutes but from gate of the hotel it took almost 15/20 minutes to reach ganges.they have such rule we can not go to buffet counter without wearing mask normally when we are eating indian food our lips tent to get bit dirty then how can you one wear mask on that also when thier own waiters wearing mask below nose....ther was no moisturiser or room slippers when one is paying 15000rs per night it is basic accessaries in the room .even normal 2/3 star hotels provide this basic things. and if you are travelling with elderly people dont think of staying at atali as one has to go up & down 50/60 steps a day

We spent 5 days at atali Ganga in October with the family. We are world travelers and have traveled in over 30 countries the experience at atali Ganga was at par with some of our best vacations. The view, food, hospitality and activities are a combination like none other. The kids had an amazing time with the activities and so did we. The staff ensured we were taken care of and also helped build a community feeling with other guests. They took all the precautions needed for travel in these times - masks at all times, life jackets were sanitized before and after use, food was served instead of buffet. They carefully curated a schedule that was perfect for our family and ensured we had the best experience with each activity. The food was prepared with our preferences in mind and was top notch. Every meal was amazing. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a getaway from Delhi

Atali Ganga exceeded our expectations from the moment we made our booking. I called with a few questions and was patiently attended to, with all my questions answered. When we arrived, we were greeted with cold drinks and a staff member who explained all activities, food options etc. We were shown to our cabin and our bags were brought for us, which was great as there are a lot of stairs. The cabins are prestine, with great attention to detail. All windows have screens, the bathroom is large and well equipped, there is water and a boiler for tea and coffee, even umbrellas and yoga mats. There is a great view from the higher up cabins, and a nice balcony to take it all in (makes the stairs worth it!) The food is amazing. Like, the best. We always got excited for meal times. We also got excited for all the activities. Rafting was fantastic. We felt safe and well guided by Dhruv, who was also the property manager. Dhruv led the staff to take care of all our wants and needs, and I thought it was great that the staff was mainly local. Whenever we were around, the staff made sure we weren't in need of anything, whether it was bringing water and towels to the pool or helping us arrange an early check out- Dhruv was even there at 6:30am to see us off! We can't say enough good things about this very special place. The concept and execution of this activotel is truly one of a kind and extraordinary.

Its a superb resort for two to three relax days break with fun-filled adventure the instructor Vikas was very knowledgable we enjoyed the rafting. Even the Spa is good though small the therapist Akash was really well trained and knowledgable. the rooms or the cottages are good clean and neat well maintained. some of the cottages are really at height so senior citizens take care. Being a Active property and on the mountains the rooms are down to up but my room which i had told the booking Person Somna Mishra to give me with the best view and really it was superb. She was also very responsive. The food was excellent more like homely taste and evenings bon fire is fun to unwind your stress. Overall all staff are very courteous and helpful specially Druv Rana and Jitu and there is one lady Sunita she is also very Helpful. They even took proper care of Covid situation for giving regular instructions for wearing mask. maintaining proper Sanitisation even our luggage was sanitised on arrival.

Our stay at Atali Ganga was truly memorable.
It’s a beautiful property with excellent views of Ganga and cosy cottages. In the lap of nature with numerous activities organized by the hotel. Ample of excellent activities for kids - our kids really enjoyed the obstacle course within the resort , next day hotel arranged kayaking for kids within 5 mins drive from the hotel while we enjoyed warm tea n snacks sitting at the beach.
Also loved couple of excellent treks near by Atali itself. Few of us adults enjoyed a full day of rafting in Ganga.
We went in a big group of 22 people and the hotel staff was extremely courteous in meeting our requirements with prompt service. All our outdoor activities were accompanied with packed lunches and sanchwichs compliments to the hotel- especially in Covid times this was very thoughtful.
Suggestions for Atali - pls look at offering room service and expanding cuisine .
Overall a great stay. Thanks Atali!!

Dear Anjna, Thank you so much for your detailed and insightful review. I sincerely appreciate the time you have taken out to thoroughly detail your experience and we stand truly humbled by your gracious comments on the property, the service, and our teams at Atali, Ganga, and Aquaterra Adventures. Rafting down the Ganga is truly an experience not to be missed, Thank you for mentioning the safety standards adhered to, as we endeavor hard to set the highest benchmark on this critical front. In addition, it is indeed a blessing to have a team that loves what it does on a daily basis and they express their heartfelt gratitude for your appreciation of the same. We have noted your feedback on expanding cuisine and room service in cottages is not offered as we are surrounded by reserved forest, food in cottages attracts rats which in turn would attract snakes ...so keeping guest safety we do not serve food in the cottages. We look forward to seeing you back at Atali soon. Warm Regards, Somna Misra Team Atali Ganga and Aquaterra Adventures.

Location of the place is excellent but the prices are unrealistic . I felt we were take Advantage of in terms of price to quality of living ratio. Rafting included was good and the instructors are proficient however the place does not stick to the virtues it is supposed to stand for . A rich group of people who were staying here partied all night and created a very indecent and inhospitable atmosphere . We complained but no one listened as people with fat pockets get priority here . It is sad that a beautiful place like this is now misused for making money and robbing middle class people who come here seeking adventure . Quality of food is pathetic and no where near the price it commands . The approach is very dangerous for cars to park themselves .
Overall I would advice middle class people to steer away unless they have money to waste and pick up a better alternative. I hope the owners take a more if this and do something about quality of food, a better set of virtues , conduct of staff. Also there is no wifi in the rooms which is a must of any prosody today even if the focus is nature and adventure

Covid protocols were followed at all timesecluded independent cottage.
No complaints except the pool was not clean
But considering the heavy rains and frequent climate change everything was smooth and this place is so underrated. I highly recommend if you like to spend time together with nature as there is no tv or food in the room service.
Wifi only available in lobby and cafe area or you can use mobile data. (I love this thought of limited access)
Overall i highly recommend this hotel and will surely love to visit again.
Customer oriented as they changed our stay dates with one email to booking office.
Limited Tasty buffet spread with pahadi flavors
Clean and tidy rooms with mountain view

You won’t need any gym. Plenty of climbing at the resort itself to get to our rooms. Plus if you need more exercise then go hiking. Enjoy.
There are no gym room equipment in this hotel.
WiFi is available and is working fine. Like any hill property, some guests may experience some trouble, but it's not the benchmark! You're welcome to climb, high ropes, use the pool, hike, or try out our mountain bike course.
