Nestled along the Ganges, the Taj Rishikesh Resort & Spa garners commendation for its spotless environment and well-kept rooms. Guests often describe their stays as luxurious, with access to a private beach and a variety of dining options enhancing the experience.
The serene atmosphere, especially during the daily Ganga Aarti, contributes to its reputation as a peaceful haven. Despite some concerns over room heating and outdated aspects, many find the resort's value undeniable, frequently highlighting the attentive service and overall maintenance.

Detailed Reviews
There aren't enough words to express how amazing a stay we had this resort. From the moment we arrived at the hotel till the minute we left, we were greeted and treated with a lot of care and warmth. The food at Rock Flour and Pebbles is exceptional. No matter what we decided eating, it was delicious. On the recommendation of the staff at Rock Flour, we tried the Pahadi rice and the Pahadi preparation chicken curry, and WOW, that's all we can say about it.
The housekeeping staff, the buggy drivers and the security staff deserve a pat on their back for doing an outstanding job while always having a smile on their face.
A couple of suggestions from my experience at your resort:
1.The room service efficiency could be improved. We ordered for a portion of veg fried rice for lunch and it took over an hour for it to come.
2.The equipment at the JIVA Spa needs to be looked into. The disposable under garments were not available. The robe that was given to me was torn. They replaced the robe, the second one was torn as well. The third one was torn as well but it was the least torn of all so I used it.
3.The feet washing in the bowl of warm water which I've experienced at all the other JIVA spa's I have visited was not done prior to my massage session.
4.The location of the evening pahadi high tea could be changed. I recommend shifting it to the lawn near the yoga pavilion. This would just enhance the experience.
And finally, we would like to specially thank the following people for going that extra mile to make our stay a memorable one.
1. Prachi at the front office for assisting us with everything we needed with a smile.
2. Praveen for making those Pizza's which we couldn't get enough of.
3. Mahindra from the house keeping staff for always ensuring our room was super clean.
4. Ravindra, Ajay and Sachin from Rock Flour for ensuring the meal service was up to the mark. Sachin again for arranging a D-Cold tablet for my when I started sneezing.
5. Ali and Naveen at the JIVA Spa.
6. Pankaj, the chauffer who picked us up from and dropped us back to Dehradun Airport. He is a very entertaining and knowledgeable person. Told us so much about Rishikesh and the various other sites on the way. We are extremely grateful to him for taking us into Rishikesh town so we could buy a few souvenirs to bring back and also for taking us to the Laxman Jhula.
Thank you to everyone at Taj Rishikesh for giving us a truly memorable stay. We will be back soon.

If you love nature then it’s a must visit place. And the TAJ (it is one of the newest TAJ properties) compounds the experience exponentially. The location is superb and the resort is designed beautifully...you get uncluttered view of the imposing mountains and the divine river Ganga from everywhere. Rooms are spacious, airy and full of natural light. The resort’s Jiva Spa, a hallmark of quality and experience from the TAJ, is so designed that you feel you are in the midst of a forest. You get to experience the luxury of TAJ, yet there is a fine sense of simplicity to the place. Superb staff led by the Hotel’s GM, Mr Devraj Singh and his colleagues Akashdeep and Sandeep. Harpreet at Front desk, Akshay and Jayprakash at the Coffeeshop (who are always ready to assist you with anything special you would like to eat - don’t forget to try their ‘Garhwali Thali’ :) :) ), or Suren and Praveen (who man the river side restaurant ‘Pebble Beach’, which serves some of the finest pizzas and drinks, will keep you engaged with their lively conversation while you eat), every staff at the resort is very warm and helpful. If you are a music lover then don’t miss listening to Zuber’s live Santoor in the morning and in the evening— the musical notes add to the serenity and spiritual vibes of the place. We also can’t forget to mention Pankaj & Bhupendra who took us around in their car (outdoors) and Buggy (within the resort campus) for their excellent service. They all go the extra mile to make the guests feel comfortable and at home: the entire Hotel staff personifies what the TAJ hospitality from the House of TATA stands for and is known for. We thoroughly enjoyed the 3 days we spent here. This is an ideal place for holiday whether for the young, kids or elderly, or even for someone alone who simply wants to experience solitude in the lap of nature. The beauty of the place can’t be expressed in words. The pristine natural beauty combined with the TAJ hospitality: you can’t get better than this !

We were warmly welcomed with a traditional welcome and swiftly checking into our suite room with fantastic views of the river ganges.
The pool and the gym are great as are the golf carts to get around the resort... but the intimate ganga arti is out of this world.
We ate all our meals in the Rock Flour restaurant and the food was perfect every time. Compliments to the Chef!
Unfortunately, we were only able to stay here for 2 nights but even in 2 night, the Team at Taj blew us away with their attention to detail and service. Notably Manoj, the security guard, who helped my elderly mother across the pebbly beach to do Ganga Arti and Sumit in the restaurant, who went over and above to ensure we were comfortable after a minor delay in service.
This wonderful destination made travelling through hail storms and terrible roads from Rishikesh a small price to pay. Every element from The beautiful architecture of the property, the stunning landscape to the legendary Taj service was simply perfect.
Thank you to all at the Taj Rishikesh and hopefully see you again soon

1. Just as we got in, the first thing guard informed was that we could get our car cleaned at a steep price. However, the car was just dusted partially (no proper cleaning done and no receipt provided)
2. Temperature was checked but no other check like Aarogya Setu or masks. Check in was very chaotic - we showed our I’d cards and nobody asked for it. No welcome drink provided. The reception did not inform about any activities like Arati or golf cart tour (we got to know about these from other tourists)
3. Room ok but we booked twin room 4 months in advance and got a double room. Balcony view of Ganga was nice
4. Breakfast was more chaotic. Servers kept forgetting orders. People were picking up food with hand from the buffet and there was nobody from the hotel to instruct them to use cutlery or wear masks
5. No social distancing followed during meals or Arati
6. Dinner buffet options were limited and very average. Outside sitting area was good but no heater/angethi provided
Net-net, great location, good hotel but very highly priced for the service received

Amazing Property in the hands of Poor Management.
The positives first:
Amazing property!
Location, the view of the Ganga, the Hills, everything! Truly mesmerizing. The infinity pool looks over the Ganga in parts which is beautiful. View from the room was great! Room size, bathroom size were amazing. Ajay (one of the servers at the multicuisine restaurant) was very well trained and polite. The Hotel was kind enough to give us an early check-in.
Now the Negatives:
1. Utter chaos during breakfast. No host/hostess to attend to you at the entrance. So basically a dhaba system, the swift can fetch and find tables, people standing on the heads of people about to finish their meals.
2. No plates at the buffet for breakfast. I mean seioursly?
3. Wrong drinks served after 30 minutes of placing the order. The server casually stated ingredients for the drinks ordered weren't available. Did not care to confirm change of drink before making them.
When all of the above was brought to the notice of the F&B manager, Mr. Sausis Bhattacharya, he had the most evasive attitude and without addressing the issues, he said and I quote "We are managing very well". It was so funny how someone can be so wrong. He was probably the most casual manager I have ever interacted with. His juniors seemed to be better trained than him. Best thing, the next day they put a big plant on the entrance door to block it instead of putting a host/hostess on the entrance counter.
We also overheard other guests joking about tying their chairs with chords so they don't get taken away. They ran out of basic things like tea during breakfast.
4. The Guest Services and In room dining button on the telephone in the room is like a lottery. It is only answered 3 in 10 times. So you can forget about them in case of an emergency.
It will be unfair to not state the positive bit here that whenever you lucked out and in-room dining responded, they did have a very prompt service!
All in all a pretty average experience. If it wasn't for the view and the property, we would have maybe checked-out earlier than our planned stay!
A bad Taj experience. I will surely not be returning to this property.

It was with some trepidation that we ventured to Taj Rishikesh for a three night break wondering about safety in Covid times. The front office staff led by Team Sandeep met us at the entrance itself for a warm but contactless check in and we were escorted to our room immediately. All meals were enjoyed with appropriate social distancing served by team Sumit. A special word for Jaiprakash who ensured piping hot breads no matter where we sat. A word of appreciation for the chef who prepared the desserts and breads! They were outstanding. The staff at the spa led by Aren wove magic with soft firm hands with their masks on. And the punditji happily complied with our wish for a personalized puja to commemorate our milestone anniversary. Overall, a very comfortable and reassuringly safe stay. Will be back again!

We stayed at the Taj Rishikesh for a long weekend. A truly stunning property and setting along the Ganges. Every element of the experience was great from start to finish. Beautiful guest rooms, very thoughtful and welcoming design elements, super service orientation from pre-arrival to dining to spa to activities (we trekked and rafted on the river). The experience of staying at such a resort is that the entire staff, including behind the scenes members, make for a wonderful experience. Ajay and Saurav at the main restaurant deserve special note as they positively responded to our dining requests, including extra portions of the delicious pineapple chutney made in house, and provided a warm and friendly dining service. The menu has a wide variety of food choices which is important for a destination location. Overall we had a lovely and memorable stay.

Taj Rishikesh, a glimpse of heaven is located at an hours drive from Dehradun Airport. With spectacular views, beautiful rooms one should not miss this holiday resort.
Nestled by the banks of The river Ganga, Taj offers views which the city eyes die for, uninterrupted views of the Mountains, River Ganga and the beautifully planted landscape.
The staff was welcoming and helpful from Harpreet at the check-in to Sumit at the restaurant. For any special request in terms of food just get in touch with Sumit and he will be your Genie. As much as I was impressed with this Taj property in terms of its views, the rooms I was utterly disappointed with the quality of food. They need to work on their vegetarian menu in terms of quality as well as variety, especially as they were located in the Holy city of Rishikesh.
We had booked our trip from Go Plush travels which gave us very competitive all inclusive rates will mention their email at the end.
The property is soo beautiful words won't do any justice. I will be uploading many pictures from my stay please do.check them out.
Taj has a private access to The River Ganga and they perform Ganga Aarti every evening at 5.00 which one should not miss. There are golf carts to take you up and down your rooms to the the restaurant or the spa. They have a yoga session every morning at 9.00 and a meditation session at 4.00 in the evening. A 2 night stay is what I recommend to do justice to this property.

A much hyped property with extremely poor guest service and gestures. They would even provide a map/ layout of the property with the things that can be done to make the best of your visit to start with.
They will convey all to do thing and their timings and venues verbally and want you to remember them. It seems they are desperate to sell at each point since they are quick at pointing out where the bar is in case you want to forget the sorry affairs.
Their buffet spread will make 3 star hotels feel better off since Taj has just lowered the bar. People won’t attend to your table to find out if you need second helping of hot breads.
Order a bucket of ice and they take 30 minutes to deliver to your room after 3 follow up calls.
First they cut you off from the world at an isolated place and then they wish to rip you within the property with their value add on services.
Such a big let down from a group which was known for hospitality.
Regret my booking & stay already.

Ok.. after the rather back breaking 8 hours journey to cover 275 km from gurgaon to Jaipur wasn’t really in the best of spirits when I stepped out of my car but boy... what a turnaround from there. Friendliest if welcomes, a rudraksh tied around the wrist, a warm concoction served and then taken to our 3 BR villa where some of the most amazing surprises awaited us ! Hand crafted chocolates with our pictures printed (they were public pics so don’t worry about the privacy part )
First 15 mins and we were bowled over but this was just the beginning. The food is stupendous , the General manager as luck would have it was the GM of taj madurai where I was a long staying guest for 4 months and his knowledge stupendous.
My spouse did the singhrhali bird trek, highly recommended , we took the couple massage option and you do get pampered for a price but it’s worth it .
My daughter didn’t want to come back at all! And don’t miss their pizzas at the pizza bar, the thin crust pizza will beat Italian pizzas cooked by Italians anywhere !
Great ethos , great culture, great leadership at taj Rishikesh.. may the tribe of devraj and team grow !

It can be done both ways..... after each service...is however more desirable...as u might not get to meet the staff while you check ..... though their excellent service isn't subjected to the tip given or nit:)

Hey, so answering to your questions.
1) they don’t check epass at the state border but to be on safer side Pls carry it.
2) the roads are awesome till the property only 4-5 kms after Rishikesh is bad.
You can check my vlogs on YouTube search for:- Yashpal Desai
Yes, it's mandatory you make an epass which is free of cost and can be downloaded on the uttarakhand govt website.
No I don’t think so as I did not see even a single pet there.
