Our room was always clean and the Staff at the resort was very accommodating and friendly. The food each day was wonderful and again the Chef was very accommodating with all of my food allergies. The dive sites had great variation. We certainly appreciated the attentiveness and enthusiasm of the dive staff. Overall, this was a wonderful trip.

I went to Tawali just to dive and was a great experience. I did 2 dives and were both great. Good material and great staff. However, they overcharge you for for 5 minutes of small boat to reach Tawali and the food (buffet type) was very poor quality and expanaive. If you go just for diving, rent a small boat by yourself to reach there, and don't stay to have lunch, it's not worth it.

We stayed at Tawali for about 2 weeks in November 2017. We met friends from Australia for the last week and they stayed here as well. Our friends concurred with our review rating of 3 stars. This review includes the resort itself and the dive operation. Our purpose for staying at Tawali was to dive the sites in Milne Bay. The resort The resort is situated at the top of a large hill and is located about 2 hours from the Alotau airport. The first 90 minutes from the Alotau airport to the resort are by air conditioned van on a very bumpy road and the last few minutes are by boat. There are 2 docks at the resort and they are on opposite sides at the bottom of the hill. The dive shop (which we did not visit) is near one of the docks. The restaurant, lobby, outdoor patio, and

There were eight in our group, six divers and two snorkelers. We were picked up on time at our hotel in Alatou in a large air-conditioned van. The ride was an hour and a half and then a 30 minute boat ride to the resort. We were greeted enthusiastically by the staff and provided with cool towels and coconut drinks. The check-in process went very smoothly and the resort staff were very friendly and helpful. Tawali Resort is one of the most amazing places I have ever stayed! It’s nestled in the jungle and has covered walkways connecting the lobby area/large deck with the rooms, dive shop and pool. There are a lot of steps and it can be quite slippery when raining. This is not a place for someone who has mobility issues. The resort is decorated with handcrafted wood carvings and

If you love snorkeling or diving then this is a must visit resort. It’s remote (2 hour drive through the jungle) and 30 minute boat ride to get there, but boy is it worth it. Lovely location, comfortable accommodations, terrific views, super friendly and helpful staff and dive masters, especially the manger Armando, great snorkeling and diving. You really need to enjoy snorkeling and diving to appreciate this place. There aren’t any sandy beaches, but they do have a beautiful outdoor pool just off the beach. A real gem. This is an all inclusive resort and the food is exceptional. A great place to relax and chill. The rooms do not have Wi-Fi, but the lobby does. Extensive collection of books on aquatic life. We were there in late September and almost had the place to ourselves.

The room was spaceous, clean and with an incredible view over the bay (I got one of the best rooms as it was low season). The staff was friendly and the food nice with flexibility for special requirements The diving is just the best in the world (I really mean it, I have been to loads of places and the diving around Milne Bay was the best I have done) with incredible diversity, beautiful reefs, some big stuff and loads of rare critters, the guides knew their way around and did find the cool critters for us. The only down side is the price. It is expensive.

My partner and I travelled to Tawali in June 2017. The resort met us at the airport with a bus. Since our plane was late arriving there was a logistics issue with the bus being able to make it to the dock and back on time to pick up the next group of passengers. The resort "greeter"finally contacted her boss and they arranged to meet the bus en route to the dock with another vehicle. After leaving Alotau, we got in another vehicle and made our way to the boat. The ride from the airport to the dock takes an hour or so but the scenery makes the time go by quickly. The road at times hugs the coast and then goes deep into the jungle. The boat was at the dock when we arrived and 20 minutes later we arrived at the resort. We were greeted by resort staff and quickly ushered

Tawali is a first class dive resort located in Milne Bay. The diving is wonderful, particularly the muck diving. We did see the Lacey Scorpionfish and the Epaulette shark, not to mention lots of octopus, pipefish, pigmy frogfish, cuttlefish and nudibranch! Oh, there were so many pigmy seahorses I lost count!!!The food is good for PNG and the staff is very attentive and helpful. We dove with Albert Tom who was excellent. He was a great spotter and a good divemaster who was always checking on his divers. I always felt safe and confident in my dive master. Thank you Albert!!!

Highly recommend this place. Getting there wasn't as tough as others have described here. You need to take a flight from POM, they will wait at the airport with a very well maintained minibus and then you have 1 - 1.3 hours to a speed boat which gets you to the hotel in ~ 15 min. For us it was a smooth ride. The place couldn't have a more perfect setting, isolated and perched on a cliff with a gorgeous house reef at the doorstep. The accomodation is basic but very clean. Wooden bungalows with lovely ocean views. But not luxury by any means. Food, we felt, was sufficiently varied and with healthy choices to suit everyone. And the coral...well thats the best part. Most alive and colourful coral cliff and walls I've seen in a while. We didn't see big fish (no mantas or

Only underwater was great. The water was clear, the coral reefs were large and beautiful, I met many pretty creatures. However, it was the lowest guide in my diving experience. Guide was dropped into the sea my underwater camera. My camera was not found. Hearty apology from the staff and the person responsible was not. And the guide lost us in the water. We were left in the sea for about 10 minutes. The guide never apologized. He is a very low level guide. We have taken the additional charge of the mystery on my way home. It was probably an owner's instruction. However, the sea here is great. The sea was very beautiful. It is a great diving point for those who have no problem even if the guide is lost. It is not suitable for beginners.
