I don't typically give 5 star reviews- but Coconut Bay simply deserves it.
We spent one week here as an extended family of 15, ranging from 9 years old to 69 years old.

ARRIVAL/CHECK IN: Our bliss began as we stepped off the shuttle, with Tari greeting us with a delicious welcome drink. Check in was as quick as it could be for a large group. We had a small niggle regarding one booking, but front desk staff quickly took care of it without missing a beat- and all was rectified in 20 mins. Amazing service.

ROOMS: We had 3 couples on the Harmony side with Garden view rooms and 3 families on the Splash side with Garden view rooms. All rooms were clean, in good working condition and had appropriate bedding as requested. Ground floor patios were clean and in good repair, and all came with ashtrays. I must admit, only my room did have a terribly overbearing musty smell- not unusual for the Caribbean- but definitely noticeable. It did not ruin my vacation. Hot water and water pressure was plentiful and our beautiful housekeepers- Queency and Sam- always left clean towels, towel art and cute inspirational notes on the bed. Was a thoughtful touch. They were also very nice to chat to. Bathrooms and shower stalls are on the smaller side- so do be prepared that it is not a bathroom like home. It is clean and functional though. That's all we required, so that was fine. Do note that US/Canadian outlets are not plentiful in some rooms- bring an adapter or power cord with you if you need more than 1 plug. We read this ahead of time and came prepared- was a good choice. Safe was laptop sized and in good condition. Hair dryer was available, but we did not use.

ACTIVITIES: This team of people are phenomenal. I have travelled to a lot of resorts and I have not found one that could match these guys. Shout outs to Gillie, Akaya, Zee and Hose. Their energy was unmatched- always smiling- always hyping the guests up and constantly entertaining the kids/teens. There was a variety of things to do for everyone in our group- Bingo, painting, board games, pool games, foam parties, dancing, music, nightly lobby shows, beach parties, karaoke for adults and families, sports games, lazy river races, fitness classes....the list was actually endless. Couldn't be bored if we tried. One thing I appreciated about the activities was that they had a printed program for the week- not just a general list. The times were ACCURATE and times were adjusted week to week for operational need. I loved that they also communicated which activities were changing or cancelled due to weather- and what was going to happen in it's place. Communication was excellent.
My sister and I attended some fitness classes with Vernon- OMG is all i can say. Next level awesome at his job. You can tell right away he is passionate about it.

POOL/BEACH: We loved that there were so many pools, hot tubs, water slides and a lazy river to choose from. For kids and adults alike. Pools were all in good condition and cleaned daily- a bit on the cool side, but refreshing. We were initially excited to use the Harmony side, but found ourselves mostly over at Splash having fun with the family. We did notice on the Harmony side that most adults played the chair game starting at 7am, and by 8am there were no seats left.
While it is true that the beach spot here is not as amazing as the resorts on the west coast, the beach was long and clean and beautiful in it's own way. Paradise beach was just a short walk down- which had a nice bar, food spot, chairs and a clean area for swimming. We enjoyed our time here.

FOOD: Buffet was always a hit. There was something for everyone and the food was always hot and fresh. Staff were usually quite quick at refilling when empty. We were shocked at how good the food was, and how varied the choices were. We had several picky eaters in our group and they always found something to fill up on. We loved the omelette and pasta stations. Lots of gluten free and vegetarian options as well. Breakfast service was always pleasant but coffee/water service was hit or miss here. Lunch and dinner drink service was always on point.
We dined at Trattoria a-la-carte which we enjoyed. Service by Shantel was top notch, efficient and friendly.
We loved Jerk Shack and Flip Flops for lunches most days. We loved their poolside and late night menu- so many options for everyone!!! Snacks of nachos, fruit, hotdogs and self-serve soft drinks were always available. It could get very busy here but the staff always handled it with grace and smiling faces.
We had 1 incident of a burger not being cooked properly- it was addressed, we received an apology and new food was cooked. Excellent customer service in the moment.

Staff ALWAYS seated our large group for breakfast and dinners each day with NO issues- only once did we have to have 2 separate tables, which was understandable. They always had a table ready in under 3 mins. We have never had this kind of service anywhere else. No eye rolling, no huffing......just pure efficient friendly service.
Shout outs to some amazing staff who made our meal times so very memorable:
Shekina, Quincy, Jonathan, Knight, Faith, Maria, Rockson, Raaz(sp?), Skeet and so many more. Such a pleasure to be taken care of by them.

DRINKS: Pleasantly surprised with the quality of alcohol. The bar NEVER ran out of popular ingredients/mixers etc. Top shelf brands available. Bartenders Nick, Ersking, Claude and Godfrey made sure our whole family was taken care of every night. Drink service around the pool and around the lobby was phenominal. Dona D. and Jedi were always checking in, bringing drinks, offering whatever they could to make our stay more enjoyable.

SPA: My husband and I both had massage treatments which were excellent and well-priced. I highly recommend the oceanfront cabana massage. Pure relaxation. Locker rooms for changing/showering post treatment were a fancy addition to an already great experience. Booking via Kim at the desk was easy. Treatment with Taryn (sp?) was professional and enjoyable. They even assisted my husband who is visually impaired to wait for me while I finished. He felt so comfortable and safe, which left a big impression on me. Thanks to the spa staff.

DEPARTURE: We had some delays with our airline and our shuttle never showed up. Front desk staff sprung into action and offered us their complimentary shuttle at an appropriate time. We couldn't believe how seamless they made this- was very impressed.

MISCELLANEOUS: Attie and Tiffany G. at the excursions desk are some lovely people. While we did not book an excursion on this visit to the island, Tiffany takes excellent care of the resident dog, Lucy. The staff care about Lucy so much, it was so heartwarming to see. She's an awesome addition to the resort. Lucy has a bed at the excursions desk, so we made it a point to stop by and say hi to the staff.
Not many cats, but we did see 2 (Midnight and Ginger). They were not bothersome and did not solicit attention unless you approached.

Had the pleasure of meeting Michael, the GM. We spoke to him about how Sandals has nothing on this place in many ways, and we weren't kidding. He was friendly, visible and approachable. Was willing to hear praise and criticism. He took pride in the staff and the resort- and staff we spoke to spoke very highly of the management. We noticed the staff seemed genuinely happy to be at work and took pride in Coconut Bay. Many staff have worked there a long time- which speaks volumes to me as a consumer.

Our only room for improvement would be the Wifi. Many of us were unable to connect or only had it outside the fitness centre?? We could not get any down in room 152 or 148- but family in 136 Harmony and 106,107 and 121 Splash had no issues. I wasn't able to connect long enough or in a comfortable place to get work done. While it was nice to disconnect, this did add some extra stress for me and wasn't ideal. Of course this was the one time we had an issue at home and I needed to be more available.
That being said, we could adapt and incur charges with our provider....but shouldn't have to. Would love to see improved wifi in the future.

Coconut Bay has been the biggest surprise of my travel life. WOW is all I can say.
Since Covid, we have been finding that many resorts are struggling with customer service, staffing shortages and supply shortages. NOT HERE!!!!
We hope to see it again soon!

We had a very pleasant stay at Coconut Bay, after having visited St. Lucia one year earlier on a cruise ship. We were picked up at the airport by hotel van in a very organized fashion, and were greeted by friendly staff who offered us a taste of champagne right at the front desk while waiting for our bags to be taken to the rooms. Our whole party of seven people stayed in the adult section, second floor, right across from the adults only warmish pool and heated whirlpool where you never had to worry about getting a lounger in the shade. My husband and I had room 264 which was very quiet and clean, but not five star - I would say 4 star. The housecleaning staff was most accommodating and friendly. We had problems with our safe and security came up in a timely manner to fix it. There was a fridge in the room, but it stores water only, no alcohol. In order to get an alcoholic drink, we had to go to the main bar or to the pool bar not far from our room. The breakfast and lunch was good at the main buffet, and we ate at all the a la carte restaurants with our favourite being the French/Creole cuisine and a close second, the Asian Silk. The food was very good usually, and the wine list acceptable. There was a lot to do on the grounds, seaside yoga and lots of nightlife and music, a couples spa experience that we loved. The highlight at Coconut Bay would have to have been the cultural night outdoors with local culture, music, buffets and dancing. Having said that though, the excursion desk in the registration area arranged several tours for us: the catamaran champagne tour, the self designed island tour where we went to Jade Mountain black sand beach (good for snorkelling) the forest botanical garden and warm springs bathing springs, said to be frequented by Josephine Bonaparte as a young girl, and the volcano/Grand Piton mountain visit and cold waterfall swim. The only downside to the resort was the daily accumulation of sargasso weed on the beach which is on the Atlantic side of the island, however, we have noticed that problem all over the Caribbean due to warming oceans. The weed was cleaned up by tractor every morning, and the long walk up and down the beach every morning was just great. We took taxis to get to cleaner, calmer beaches on the west side of the island, however you do have to pay for access to some. We would visit Coconut Bay again.

Froccer I truly appreciate the review and your authentic comments on the resorts food and activity. I do however, need to point out the difference between the turtle grass that comes to shore Vs Sargasso. The long wispy threads are from the reefs which dot the waters in front of the beach. This is the stuff that washes as shore all over the island and Caribbean, and North America. What you are calling "Sargasso" is is not valid what so ever. Sorry if that was not explained to you from the hotel. Thank you again Zachary

I spent a week at both the Coconut Bay Beach Resort and Spa and the Royalton but I loved the Coconut Bay Beach Resort and Spa better. Here is why:

1. I found the quality of food to be better. The a la carte restaurants were better on plating/presentation and slightly better on taste. The buffet at the Coconut Bay I found to be superior with the exception of dessert.

2. Service overall was better at the Coconut Bay than Royalton. People were overall friendlier and just provided a higher level of service.

3. Room service was roughly the same but Coconut Bay provided towels and face cloths more on a consistent basis meaning not running out.

4. Beach at Coconut Bay was extremely large. Loved the walk up and down. Was not small like the Royalton. Yes it had seaweed but there were places where it had less. Royalton no seawood, small, rocky in places. Both not good for snorkeling.

5. Coconut Bay had hammocks in the water which I loved. The lazy river was very enjoyable. Also never had an issue finding shade. Royalton it was horrible. Needed to get up early to secure a spot.

6. Atmosphere at Coconut Bay was just more fun than Royalton which i found boring. Perhaps it was the extra friendliness of the people that made it happen.

7. The Royalton had much nicer rooms, just more elegant and was truly 5 star. My room at the Coconut Bay was ok. There was an opening around the door I thought should have been sealed so bugs would not come in. I had no issue with bugs but i would have prefered it was sealed.

8. If you like to be active and want to rent a car i found the Coconut Bays location to be better as mostly everything to do was located closer in the south of the island.

I would definitely stay at the Coconut Bay Beach Resort again.

We have been to a lot of all inclusive resorts throughout the Caribbean, and found CB to be the best one, on multiple levels. Firstly, the location near the airport is a big plus, as most of the resorts are 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive from the airport over winding dangerous roads. Although it's on the Atlantic side, so the water is rougher and it's harder to snorkel, the beach is expansive and you can take long walks every day. You will not even notice the few planes that fly overhead (I'm serious!). Most tour excursions are accessible from the hotel, and are quicker than if you stay at the Royalston, which is far north on the Island and not as close to Piton, and Souffries. The resort is quite large, and it seems like there is about 20 pools on the property. Everywhere we walked, there was another uncrowded pool area with a bar nearby. The adult section is where we stayed all week, and there are several pools, hot tub, and lounge chairs on rotating platforms (right on the water). If you want to be a kid, you can get a float and get on the lazy river or get on a slide. The lobby area is comfortable with couches and chairs, and a great place to read and get a drink to stay out of the sun for a bit.
The restaurants are superior to most anywhere, and it's easy to make reservations for them. We recommend that you make several days reservations at once. Each one has a different ambiance, and we didn't have a bad meal. Silk had the most delicious Chicken Tikki Marsala I have ever eaten. DO NOT MISS the Jerk Treehouse for lunch, as you can order jerk chicken, sausage, pork and fish that is to die for. Very informal attire allowed. Fair warning about dress code - the restaurants have a dress code and Calabash requires long pants for men. It's nice that people all seemed to dress nicely at night when going to eat or watch entertainment. We thought it was a pleasant change from some other resorts we stayed at.
The staff is beyond nice and accommodating. They are proud of the island, and are happy people. Who wouldn't be living in Paradise?

The rooms are clean and comfortable and our maid, Pearl, delighted us each day with a home made design out of towels and flowers. Wonderful!!!
We recommend that you walk around the entire property, as there is a small petting zoo, and gorgeous gardens (at Serenity the sister property). The flora and fauna are spectacular!! Also, if you walk the beach, you will end up at Paradise Beach where there is a bar, and the bartender has a grill where he makes fresh fish and burgers... sort of a secret of the resort.

I would come again another time.

ChillinTheWorld Perfect timing ! I was just having a conversation with the Chef about food and how the resort has been transformed within the last few years on Quality and selection under his direction. It is a great journey for the culinary taste buds from Coco-Walk, to Calabash, to Silk and all the ones in-between. I also think the Tikka Marsala is amazing! My husband, 9-year old daughter, and I just returned from our first vacation to Coconut Bay. There are many positives to share, starting with the staff who were so warm and welcoming. It’s impossible to remember everyone’s name, but a big shout out to Antoine, Eldon, Ted and Jade at the swim-up pool bar who consistently served beverages with a smile; to Zora and Laura of the entertainment crew who were incredibly sweet with our daughter and got us all dancing on several occasions; to Shekehra, Gina, Petula, Subina, and Cole who started each of our days off with smiles, endless mimosas, and delicious eggs benedict; and to Latoya and Glen who went out of their way to deliver top notch service! We booked a Splash Concierge Premium Oceanview room and it was fantastic – clean & comfortable, had a balcony with 2 chairs, and came with all of our dinner reservations made for the week. Definitely worth the extra money for this upgrade. The buffet food is typical of an all-inclusive, but the specialty restaurants (Calabash, Silk, Seaside) offered exceptionally delicious food. There were many activities offered, but it would be nice if the vibe was as fun all week as it is on Friday & Saturday. The pools, lazy river, and water slides were kept immaculate. The beach was clean as well and while the ocean was choppy it was still nice to walk down to the Paradise Beach Bar, play volleyball, and swing in the hammocks. The entertainment for Caribbean Night and the Hoedown were two of the highlights of our vacation…cannot say enough about all the performers and the buffet. For anyone looking to book an offsite excursion the ½ day tour to Soufriere to visit the mud baths, waterfall and volcano was outstanding. On the downside – the spa experience was a bit disappointing. Paid a little over $200 on pedicures for me & my daughter and the staff barely spoke to us and didn’t even offer a beverage...typically water & champagne would be a given. Also, service at Flip Flops was consistently poor and the staff appeared to be unhappy. Overall, this is an amazing resort on a beautiful island that I would highly recommend visiting!

Right on the Beach, all the rooms the same with an adults only section and one for families. We had 10 wonderful days with great staff, great food and premium drinks.
The resort is clean, safe and perfect for little ones with a kids club. There are various pools and a lazy river with swim up bar or drinks served at your sunbed. There is various great entertainment every night and a Caribbean party night and beach party.

The rooms are very clean, comfortable functional, have two beds for kids and a small balcony with all rooms looking out to sea. We had premium Wifi with our package that also worked ok. (Get an extra code if you have more than 2 devices!) Rooms are equipped with soaps, hair dryer, iron, tea, coffee and a mini bar.
Being on the Atlantic Ocean side there is usually a nice cool breeze.
Definitely a 5 star resort that is hard to fault.

The only problems we had;
There is a very good tour company advertising on the beach called Grasshopper tours, it would be nice if the hotel worked with the company rather than condemning them as both could win.

Typical of turn a blind eye! there are limited sunbeds around the splash pool so there is the 7am towel run and grumpy guests looking at taken but unused beds for half the day or more. This is easily rectified as we have seen at the best resorts. Leave the sun beds for more than one hour and your towels are removed and any belonging put in safe keeping for you - It works and everyone wins.

Alan G, Glad to know we exceeded expectations on all fronts. As for "condemning" Grasshopper tours, I an not sure what Jude on the beach shared, but I am always respectful to him. I really find that comment disturbing. As for the sun bed drama, I agree, that is why we have 100 or so new ones arriving next week. No blind eye hear, only the slow boat from China. Thanks for the review Zachary

I was very disappointed with the resort. The cost is so high that it sets your expectations very high. You expect to arrive to a 5 start resort only to find out it lacks at so many levels. The resort rooms are just okay, the bathroom is small and not greatly functional, hot water comes in unexpected bursts that burn you if you don't jump our of the way. All rooms open to the outside as in a motel style, which makes outside noise hard to deal with, from drunken people screaming to vomiting all night, to the bugs that don't stop squeaking all night. This is just the start...

We arrived on Christmas eve to find out that all restaurants are booked and we are stuck with the buffet for 2 nights! the food was terrible. The meat and Turkey were over cooked, and the desserts look great, but not worth the calories. The service is ok at best, but not great.

They brag about 9 restaurants but they are not all open every day, and especially at dinner time. The restaurants were miss managed in terms of efficient seating, and most were empty when we dined (with the exception of Silk) while you are told they are full and you can't get a reservation. So this all inclusive felt very non-inclusive. And they claim that it's all inclusive, but all the restaurants charge for wine, and one restaurant charges for food!!!

You can sit for hours by the pools and no one will come by to offer any drinks. We had one very rude bar tender that when my daughter asked for water, his response was "don't you have your own water?"!!!

Wifi was not great; one morning they ran out of clean towels for the pool, and one day the entire resort was out of lemon and lime at the bars, and if you are lucky they might have had mint for a mojito!

If they had charged half of what we paid for, we would have said "you get what you pay for", but given the cost for all inclusive, we expected it a paradise like experience.

Maya, The resort is clearly marketed as Casually Caribbean, the price point and high demand periods is what drives all price points globally. We never have marketed us as a 5 Star resort from a hotel rating system. Simple Macro Economics at work here. Your comment of guest vomiting is disturbing I had no report of this behavior from out Security team, Duty Manager or Night Manager. The sounds of bugs squeaking are Tree frogs native to the Caribbean. I really cannot turn that volume down. The buffet, and eating there 2 twice sounds like punishment. The buffet has a grand selection of local, regional and international cuisine to pick from. Sunday is Prime Rib, Wednesday is Mediterranean night, just to mention a few. On Christmas Eve we did have some traditional Offerings. LOL Turkey Dry? You should have been at my house growing up if you wanted dry! I ate at that buffet Christmas Eve, and had a table of 6. No one complained, and trust me I am very vocal on food quality. Yes, one restaurant does charge, but that is clearly mentioned and is a private dinner if you want it. We have 4 pool servers on the pool decks, and water stations throughout the resort to help hydrate. We even climb Coconut Trees and provide fresh Coconut water. Yes, you are correct, we did run out of pool towels for a hot second between washing folding and delivery. I actually brought towels to the pools to help, and even went to the Beach to deliver towels. So when you say the "morning" was that 10:00-10:15? It was not from 8:00am to Noon as your review makes it sound. Sorry the resort was not to your expectation. But I will ask you this, did you tell anyone? I assure you, If you had made mention of the slightest hiccup, the team of Coconut Bay would have been all over it to make sure you left HAPPY. I cannot fix or address what I don't know. Thank you for the review Zachary

We are very picky eaters and ate all of our dinners at the a la carte restaurants. The meals were awesome and fast for an all inclusive. We had fresh fish, shrimp, steak, and chicken. We are American and have found in Jamaica (Beaches Resort), Dominican Republic, and Mexico, the beef usually tastes funny along with the soda, but at this resort everything was delicious. The nice beach area is at the far side of the property but there is a bar, snack shack (burgers, grilled fish, etc.), restroom, and freshwater shower and very little seaweed there. Kudos to the snack shack cook and bartenders on the beach, they will do anything to accommodate you. The staff was friendly and helpful everywhere. There was always good food and free activities available (bingo, water park, foam party in the pool, bocce ball & corn hole tournaments etc).
The only cons are that the pools were surprisingly cold, the room bathroom was small, and it was very windy so we couldn’t paddle board or kayak.
I would definitely recommend going. We are a family of 4 with teens (15 &17). A tip would be to pay extra for the concierge room, you get reservations at the a la carte restaurants, juices/liquor and a special treat in your room each night, housekeeping came 3 times a day, free round of paint ball, quicker check in, better view from the 4th floor etc.

Wow I could sing the praises of this places for DAYS. 1st they were having a special due to covid so I was expecting a lot of the amenities to be closed but that was far from the case. From the moment you clear customs you are taken care of; a coconut bay rep meets you at the airport and arranges transport to the resort which for us was a private Benz. The resort is just 5 minutes away and at the gate they check your room number and temp. Once at the open air lobby you are greeted with a welcome drink and cool hand towel. Your luggage is taken to yours room after checkin where they explain the day to day of the resort. The rooms are spacious and very clean and we had a partial ocean/partial garden view from the second floor. Mini fridge had water waiting. Our rooms were cleaned daily including mopping to clear sand.
On to the resort... I had no idea there was so much to do on site when I booked! There is a lazy river, water slides, 5-6 pools equipped with swim up bars and water falls, 1mike if Sandy, blue beaches, water sports like kayaking and wind surfing, plenty of lounge chairs, huts, hammocks. And the food! For breakfast you’re only option is the buffet but there’s so much to try with slight variability day to day I didn’t mind for our 6 day stay. You must try the raisin bread French toast with caramelized banana and whipped cream and the coconut water straight in the shell. Waiters come around to take drink orders from coffee and tea to mimosas and whiskey sours cause the bar is ALWAYS OPEN! Lunch options are the buffet which we never had or more bar food type stuff at flip flops or jerk chicken, pork, sausage and various Caribbean sides and drinks at Jerk treehouse and take your food to go to eat wherever you like! Dinner has the buffet with themed nights where it is served outside or various reservation options which are no extra charge (must try Seaside)!
Excursions: they can set up excursions to various covid approved sites. We did the volcano tour with mud bath and waterfall and botanical garden and then horseback riding. The people working at the stable weren’t as accommodating as the people at the resort and my horse was not in a good mood but it was still a great deal at $50 for an hour pp.
pros: all the staff were so nice! Remembered our names, absolutely beautiyviews, plenty to do on site, could feel the alcohol in the drinks, food was delicious, and price was great! Would return!
cons: there was A LOT of kelp on the beach though they cleared it daily it accumulated quickly. Our shower drained slowly so sand would be left at the bottom but they cleaned it daily. And the horseback riding as above.

I recently visited Coconut Bay Beach Resort on an accidental solo trip. I had intended to go with my sister for a girl's getaway, but her passport unfortunately got lost in our mail system. Since the trip was already booked, I decided I would still go.

I stayed on the Harmony side, and it was very quiet and peaceful. The view of the Atlantic was stunning. My room was always clean, and every day had a different towel animal on the bed with fresh flower petals. Peggy and Pearl both left me notes, telling me to enjoy my days.

The breakfast staff was very attentive. Due to covid, the staff had to serve everything in the breakfast buffet, and they all were extremely kind. Carnella, Sabiyana, and Tasia were very sweet, inquired about my day, and made me feel very at home. I loved Miss Mary's omelet station. At night, different restaurants were open on different nights, and two nights had an outdoor buffet. Chef Daine was one of the first people I met after arriving on Saturday afternoon, serving up jerk chicken and fresh fish. All of the food was wonderful.

Despite covid and the limited amount of guests, the entertainment staff were always around trying to make the stay for everyone as fun as possible. Volleyball with Gillie and Zora and Loree and Kay Kay was a blast, and helped me connect with other guests. There was live music every evening.

The resort has its own water park, with slides and a lazy river. There were limited excursions, again due to covid, but Tiffany at the adventure desk was incredibly helpful. I really enjoyed the all day sail and snorkel catamaran tour of the Caribbean side of island, and getting to see the Pitons and snorkel around them. The spa at the resort was very luxurious.

The entire staff was very helpful, always remembered my name, and asked after my sister to see if she would eventually be joining me. With the water park, I think the resort would be great for a family vacation; and with the adults only side, it was lovely for a quiet, peaceful getaway as well.

We had no problems wearing shorts to dinner, dress casual is fine. A lot of the resorts always say long pants but we haven't had any issues yet.
