Fantail Mill is a very unique luxury complex overlooking Orongo Bay & a three minute drive to the historic seaside village of Russell. Fantail Mill is a very private pristine estate built to resemble a old 1800s NZ Mill town with four upmarket studios all with luxury linen & chattels. Each has a private balcony overlooking the bay where you can enjoy a drink & listen to the amazing chorus's of bird life & watch a beautiful sunset before the three minute drive into Russell for a memorable sea side dining experience. A taxi service is available. Nestled into bush & private subtropical gardens on one & a half acres of coastal land Fantail Mill is the ideal base to enjoy all which the Bay of Islands has to offer. We also offer a guest lounge in the cottage with large TV, DVD player, book library & comfortable couch's. Designated places are provided for smokers. Cape cod chairs placed under the shady canopy of the trees give a ideal spot to unwind, have a drink,catch up that book or grab one from the library in the guest lounge. Four lovely swimming beach's & two wineries are only a five minute drive away from your studio. We have a free laundry with washing machine,dryer & iron. Fantaill Mill boutique accommodation is truly a gem located in a convenient and tranquil location in Russell. Our self contained studio was cozy and delightful with a comfy plush bed and luxury linen, good quality tea, coffee and toiletries. Not to mention a cute little balcony overlooking stunning views of the Orongo Bay, perfect for sipping morning tea/coffee or just simply relaxing with a glass of wine🍷😜 in the evening catching stunning sunsets😍. A special thumbs up to the lovely hostess Tracy who kindly offered to do dinner reservations for us at The Duke's. Highly recommend as an excellent getaway for couple of nights to a week. ❤

Down a tree lined drive to a private gated oasis with views and amazing sunsets over Orongo Bay in Russell Bay of Islands.Well presented clean studio unit with Juliet balcony to enjoy a nice glass of wine while taking in the view across the bay. Great friendly life loving hosts who even gave us a ride into the quaint historic village of Russell ..will return.

I stayed two nights in order to attend Waitangi Day celebrations. This is a lovely peaceful motel set in lovely elegant grounds. I stayed in room 1, gorgeous little balcony overlooking the water. Comfy bed and great linen. Herbal tea selection was much appreciated. Small but perfectly formed room and bathroom. The owners are super friendly. Tranquil atmosphere. I can recommend this place.

Fantail mill is a wonderful place to stay, perfectly situated with a fantastic view of the water in the bay of islands near Russell. Our room was lovely and our host, Tracy, made sure we had everything we needed (including a lift back from the Boat Race Hangi!) Could not recommend this place more!
