The Greeting at reception was very professional. Staff were very accomodating. As we had not stayed in the Hotel before I was unaware that you had to tap your room card to make the lift go. Other travellers were happy to explain. The rooms were comfy and tidy. The bed was very comfortable. Room temperature in the night was a little stuffy, we tried to put the climate control down to the lowest but it didn't move from about 21 degrees. Extraordinary breakfast. Amazing food and such an ensemble. THe fact breakfast goes till 11 makes it for a more enjoyable stay as you don't have to rush to get up or you can do your exercise prior to sitting down to breakfast. The Langham is situated right on Southbank and has easy access to Melbourne City Centre, Docklands, Crown, Aquarium etc. Loads of foody places to indulge in along the River. Rather than snack on the goodies in the room, duck down to 7/11 - one minute from the main door of the Hotel. Cheaper and more choice. My overall experience I would rate 9 out of 10. Thank you for a great stay.

What a great hotel in the heart of Melbourne! I booked this hotel online and selected several rooms before settling on a corner room. It is located in a central area close to restaurants, trains and within close walking distance to tour pickups. Check in was simple and located up the escalator from the arrival point. A concierge is also available to help you with local attractions and restaurants, but we did not utilize this benefit. Our corner room was great and had all the amenities. The bathroom, with dual sinks and a great shower was appropriate for us larger people. It was excellent! The in-room refrigerator and assorted drinks and snacks was also great! I appreciate the cleaning staff restocking the wine after every day since I had to try a bottle of the wine every night! There is also an Executive Lounge located on the top of the hotel and you can purchase this benefit when setting up your reservation. I thought I had purchased this benefit, but on day 2 of a 4-night stay, my girlfriend and I ventured up to the top floor to grab a quick breakfast before our first tour. I thought this feature was part of my room reservation, but I soon found out that it was not. Upon arrival, there were no hotel staff at the front desk so we entered thinking they would eventually speak with us to obtain our room information. However, halfway through breakfast we were notified in a very professional manner that we had not purchased this benefit. While the staff could have requested that we leave, they allowed us to stay without further questions. I offered to pay for this benefit several times with the executive level staff but they would not allow us. They were very professional, pleasant and accommodated our needs. I very much appreciate their level of service and handling this in such a professional manner. This hotel has a great gym for those interested in such things and it’s open 24 hours a day. Also tried out the room service on a late night and they were prompt and professional with their service. There was also a great looking buffet available in the hotel, but we made the decision to eat out at local restaurants. All in all, we hated to leave this great hotel.

Stayed at The Langham for 3 nights recently in an Executive Twin Room. The room itself was quite spacious with 2 double beds which were very comfortable and the bathroom had both bathtub and shower as well as a plentiful supply of toiletries. We had a lovely view of the Yarra river and the city both from our room and from the Club Lounge. The staff there were very attentive and welcoming and the snacks in the evening were more like a meal - everything was delicious and replenished regularly. The location is ideal with easy access to river cruises, Flinders St station and the CBD and of course the many restaurants at Southbank. A stay at this hotel is highly recommended!

The room is small and outdated. We chose to stay at the club room and I did not like the bathroom. It felt old and ancient.

The view from the club lounge is beautiful. Food is excellent. The club was busy but service was prompt.

I especially appreciate the kid pack they kindly provided us. My daughter still has the backpack, sunnies and bear. The pen was beautiful. I regret not pinching it.

They were very generous with toiletries. Body scrub and loofah were provided and I had never seen it happen in Melbourne before.

The Chuan Spa products were generously sized.

The whole feel of the hotel (Melba and the water fountain excepted) was outdated. We met some very friendly and kind housekeeping ladies who did excellent job during morning room service and nightly turndown service.

In fact, I appreciated and was amazed by them so much that I told everyone about it. They were very clean and one of them was very mindful and gave me an extra bottle of water, put them in the fridge like how I like them just because it was a hot day.

Thank you ladies, you were the best staff at Langham Melbourne in my eyes and your hardwork needs recognition.

We bought two nights through Luxury Escapes for our Wedding Anniversary. The room was divine, the bathroom a little dated but still lovely with a full sized bath (if that's your thing), with proper sized soap bars and complimentary toiletries, toothbrush, comb, sewing kit etc.

Was a bit taken back to have a $100 holding fee taken at checkin and a second $150 holding fee once we ate at the restaurant (which I wasn't told about - I had to find out what the charge was for). We provided our credit card so charges could have been made post departure if there was any discrepancies.

It was lovely having our blinds drawn, bed turned down and slippers put out for us at night. the Valet parking guys were great and very efficient and friendly.

A small anniversary cake was sent to our room to share was a nice touch.

Stayed here on a recent trip to Melbourne, two nights stay, yarra view room, two nights accommodation circa $850 incl breakfast as part of an Amex Centurion booking.

Room is maybe 20 years since a refurb, sticky carpet, tired hallways, clunky old bed (ensemble on wheels), whole thing felt a motel six or a best western (the kind where you park your car in front of the room - wall rattler aircon etc)

Breakfast was disgusting - inedible slop, i suspect powdered eggs, burnt coffee.

If this place was $175 a night i'd give it five stars, at this price its outrageous, poor value, tired product, knock it down, or rebrand maybe Ibis / Mercure ?

DO NOT STAY AT THE LANGHAM IN MELBOURNE.... As a regular guest I can tell you that our last stay was absolutely terrible, the hotel is in ruins, the service is non existent, and the food and beverage offering is a disaster.

Their buffet to table concept is a mish mash of poorly prepared cheap ingredients, charged at an exorbitant $135/head and $80 for children.

Don't get me wrong.. $135 is fine, if the food was actually edible.

But it's not..

And to add, the service was completely non existent.

When we asked if the server could clear our plates so that we didn't have to place fruit on our dirty plates, we were told there were no more plates..? No more plates? In a 5 star hotel?

"The wait for clean plates will be 30 mins sir.. I can give you something to wipe your plate if you like "

It saddens me to write this, as I have been a regular guest at the Langham in HK, London and Melbourne over many years, but our last stay was absolutely atrocious.

What a farce of a hotel.

Fire your F&B Manager immediately!

Our quite spacious quiet room had a lovely view of the Yarra and we stayed three nights. We found the staff to be professional, efficient, and friendly. The room and bathroom was in perfect condition as was the hotel. I appreciated how thoughtfully designed everything was: handy bathroom hooks, a shelf for toiletries, a weigh scale, instead of a plastic drip-coffee maker or a Keurig machine there was a gleaming cafetière and vacuum-packed espresso coffee (!!!), stationery in the desk. I didn't have to call for slippers or a bathrobe, they were there. We stepped out for coffee around the corner one morning and in the hour we were out, our room had been done.

The Langham just seemed to be getting everything right. It is an old-fashioned hotel in the very best sense. The location is great and I would happily return.

First time back in Melbourne for 2 years We have stayed at the langham alot over the years and always loved it , sadly After this 3 night stay the langham Melbourne is only a 4 star hotel if that . The langham decor has gone from old and dated to dirty its really in need of an update Our room was dirty which doesn’t feel great in a pandemic . Our room was serviced once after l called to ask to have room serviced it be done ,hours later .even then still no milk tea bags etc not refilled . The other 2 nights no one even came to replace water , milk towels etc room not cleaned or even towels replaced for $750 a night l would expect some water and milk and tea bag , we were very dissapointed the langham Melbourne no longer has its magic . One bright spark in their front desk Sebastian genuine and excellent service but really the one stand out of the stay . Service not great which is such a shame as it was always wonderful . Working in direct frontline medical field l am well aware of lack of staff and sick leave and and l do know it’s hard but if the rooms are done properly that would be one obsticle easily overcome. Two days at breakfast unsanitary bugs on food , blow flies sitting on food under dome alerted staff who took about 3 times to tell but at least she took The Whole tray away , this morning l went to get a peice of turkey from cold meats bug s again l alerted a staff member again this time he just squished the bug and left plate out disgusting you would not do this at home it makes me wonder what happens out in the kitchen , very unhygienic .
The langham Melbourne is no longer a magical hotel , Service dissapointing which is such a shame as it was always wonderful Overseas travellers will be very dissapointed when they start coming back to Melbourne as it just does not compete with amazing world wide 5 star hotels . I know COVID times are hard getting staff and lots of sick leave but every company in the world has the same problems and other hotels in australia are still giving amazing service especially at time when people brave going to a hotel for a little pampering .

I've been to 20+ 5-star hotels for trip and business, but most of the times, the staffs and facilities don't meet their stars. But Langham was a real pleasant surprise.
Staffs were simply awesome. Every single staff passing by in the corridor etc were greeting us. Bellboys were super helpful and the reception staffs were professional and kind, too. I asked why the TV's HDMI port was not working, one of the staffs couldn't help me, but it seems he or someone else followed up by sending staff to our room. He couldn't fix it, but the next morning a technician came and gave us a workaround to get the HDMI port working. Pretty exceptional!
Breakfast had many varieties and delicious. The fruit juices were very nice, too. The breakfast staffs were very professional and caring, too.
The location is superb and the Yarra river views are priceless at any time. The furniture is a bit dated but they are well maintained and the room and the bathroom were super clean.
I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone!

The only thing I didn't enjoy was the dinner. Melba Restaurant's Seafood buffet dinner ($115pp) was subpar for the price. It lacked variety in both the seafood and other foods. The foods were generally not very tasty.
I would give 2 or 2.5 stars out of 5 if anyone asks.
