Myself and she who must be obeyed (sometimes) stayed here in October '23. It was a birthday getaway present for me, and included a show (Moulin Rouge), a couple of special dinner treats, sight seeing and lots of walking. Even the cold weather didn't dampen our spirits!
Not being familiar with Melbourne at all, we were lucky enough to touch base with Ebony (Guest Experience Specialist) at Rydges, who is a star among stars and helped us out. Her great ideas, hints and going out of her way to book things for us made our stay feel like we were more than Plain Hotel Guests. The little welcome pack was the start of a funtasic few days, and the suggestion for dinner at Pinchy's was AAA+. (Thank you Ebony!!!!)
The rooms were clean and fresh, the bed as comfy as you could wish for, and we both wanted to bring the pillows home :) The room was a tad smaller than expected, but in no way made us feel cramped... the added seating was a definite bonus! The rooms are also nice and quiet - no hallway noise to disturb your sleep (that was worth 10 points alone!)

The room and its decor were lovely and well thought out. Bed and pillows were supper comfortably. The staff are very helpful and were able to have us feed before we went to a show at Her Majesties Theatre. Email checkout was the only issue as I don't get emails on my phone but the staff were more that happy to help with that.

The room was acceptable but not great. Cleanliness was present but two people in a room so please explain why we were only given one face towel and one face washer towelette. I thought it very embarrassing that your establishment was trying to sell off its containers of body wash, shampoo and conditioner. What a joke. I have been lucky enough (may I add through hard work) to have travelled to many parts of the world and never seen this so to see it in my own Melbourne city was pathetic. Now to the breakfast. What a disgusting offer of miserable food coupled with discrimination of the highest order. As a not so strict Muslim (so no great emphasis on halal), I was totally shocked to see that the only protein on offer for a person who does not eat egg was bacon, pork sausages and some form of miserable pork cold cut. Absolutely disgusting and so discriminatory. I was forced to eat tomato and mushroom on poor quality bread. Ordinarily okay but when you pay a premium price for breakfast you expect a little better. When I raised this matter with the Manager she had no idea how to respond and ended up provided some illegible dribble. When I approached the kitchen and advised of the limited food options I was greeted with a very rude grunt and ignored. When I requested some form of response I was once again ignored. However, most fascinatingly, when I politely requested would there be some cheese that we could be offered to accompany our toast I was told that my request was too difficult only then within minutes to be totally shocked to observe the same person handling a whole tray of croissants filled with ham and cheese. Absolutely pathetic service and care or understanding of different religions or even eating restrictions. Then there was the poor labelling of food and cross contamination of utensils. An absolutely pathetic and poor experience of the breakfast. I would not recommend your breakfast to anyone. My only recommendation would be to keep as far away as possible from having to consume or deal with it. I also found it interesting that the staff were so focussed on selling coffees that you had to separately pay for. So, an exorbitantly priced breakfast with an exclusion of coffee.

Stayed in the hotel for 5 days for our first wedding anniversary celebration. Although the staff were friendly and the room and location were good, our room was not cleaned the entire duration of our stay despite requesting for the room to be cleaned/serviced multiple times which was absolutely unacceptable. No appropriate action was taken by staff despite advising that this has happened once. This aspect definitely needs investigating to prevent further dissatisfied guests.

Are we still in Melbourne? Prosecco on arrival and a top pool deck that looks like something out of a travel magazine from the Amalfi Coast. This place is all luxury for an affordable price. The staff are amazing and helpful. The hotel is fresh and in a central CBD location close to everything to enjoy what's on offer in the Melbourne nightlife scene. The rooms are relaxing and set up for a good night's sleep the bed in the room was so comfortable. The view from the room has a New York feel and the refurbished hotel has a relaxed feeling. The breakfast was on point the omelettes and fresh pastries were a highlight. A great Melbourne hotel experience in the heart of the city.

We only checked in a few hours ago but could not wait to write a review.
We dropped our bags off early (12pm) as check in is at 2, we were put on a list in case the room freed up earlier which was nice.
We returned at 2pm and checked in (we did this via digital check in online)
The conceirge assisted us with room keys (all through dyi kiosk) then offered us a glass of Prosecco (complimentary)
We picked up our bags and headed up to floor 12
We booked a corner room, views of Melbourne CBD
Of all the places we have stayed, this blew our socks off. As Rydges standards are generally lower than QT - this newly renovated hotel was more beautiful than any QT we've stayed at (sister hotel)
The room is spacious and very clean, the amenities abundant and features incredibly modern.
Separate toilet to showering room and the mini bar was plentiful
After arriving to our room we received a phone call.
Moments later Ebony arrived with goodies for our anniversary.
I cannot state how wonderful it is to have the staff recognise an important event when holidaying.
Ebony was amazing and lovely and honestly made us feel so welcome (give this lady a raise!)
Her hand written note goes above anything we have received anywhere else.

Just a note on the pool, it is rooftop and stairs are required to get there!

Rydges Melbourne, you have outdone yourselves xx

This beautifully refurbed hotel looks and feels amazing, filled with a young team who are the friendliest, happiest, warmest bunch of humans I’ve met in a long time. Absolutely LOVED everything about my stay - people, location, value, communication, divinely comfortable beds, beautiful crisp linen, lush bathrooms and a “can do” approach delivered with a smile every time.

Omg! What a beautiful property and a great team running it.
Kieran on reception was a sweetheart, just lovely customer service and a very can do attitude. My room wasn’t ready at 3.45, he expediated the whole process and gave me complimentary drink vouchers to say sorry.
My family met me in the bar downstairs, we really loved it.
I slept amazingly and had a beautiful little room, very quiet.
Buffet breakfast was delicious and a great atmosphere. I did feel for $35, my barrister coffee could have been complimentary, but was charged $5 extra

The Rydges Melbourne renovations has respectfully acknowledged the accessible accommodation market.

We stayed in an Accessible Suite for one night. Access within the room was ideal with space to manoeuvre, widened doors & linoleum floors. The stylish finish is practical and thoughtful with soft beige tones, a lowered kitchen bench top and room to move within the contemporary bathroom.

There is a designated council accessible car parking spot just beyond the main entrance set down area (with restricted times). We could not locate any designated accessible car parking spaces within the building however other car parking spaces were ample, perhaps given the $50 overnight fee.

Bonus points for enabling this type of room to be booked directly from the website.
