We arrived early at the Quality Inn on Batman’s Hill on Collins and were surprised at the proximity to Southern Cross Station, just a crosswalk L shape took us directly to the front door, there is a bit of building work going on at that...More
Every part of the experience was excellent - the direct booking on-line, the check-in, the room was modern, bed fine, very good coffee/tea, and shower very good. Bar and breakfast very good. Service through the whole hotel was outstanding - including the facilities for the...More
The location was perfect for us as we were utilising buses from Southern Cross station. We had a family room. The first one was a bit odd in its design making the bathroom access difficult and the sink was in an odd place, but the...More

As many have mentioned, fabulous location. Hotel is an old beautiful, old historical classic building, average internally I would say, but well priced and value for money. Staff are really nice and friendly.

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air
of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.

The street noise was not a problem for us, just the usual noise you would expect to have in a busy city. The only time we were aware of 'traffic' noise was if there were any emergency vehicles passing by but that has happened only once in 3 separate stays at this hotel. The trams you would hear start up around 5.30am so if you like to sleep late you may prefer asking for a room not overlooking the street.

Hi Bob they have 4 rooms with accessible bathrooms which have walk in showers, rails for the toilets, showers seats on the wall and plenty of room for wheelchairs. I have stayed there three times in the past 6 weeks and had one of these room every time. You may need to contact the hotel directly and book it. Simon is the front desk Manager and he is very helpful. Good luck
