QT Melbourne emerges as a stylish urban retreat where most guests find the service to be top-notch, with staff members earning accolades for their friendliness and professionalism. The hotel's modern amenities, including a rooftop bar and luxurious bathroom products, are popular among visitors, though some have mentioned minor shortcomings such as the absence of complimentary water. While the cleanliness and chic atmosphere of QT Melbourne generally impress, a few guests have noted housekeeping inconsistencies. Its prime location is a highlight, providing easy access to local attractions, even as opinions on the hotel's value for money vary.

Excellent hotel in a perfect location to access everything the lovely city has to offer. Close to Yarra river and major sporting venues MCG, Rod Laver etc.
Staff are very pleasant and helpful. We were very grateful to the lovely receptionist who arranged for our room to be available when we arrived early from the UK. The hotel room and decor is beautiful. The breakfast was very tasty although the set menu was limited.
The rooftop bar is amazing. It can get busy at the weekend but this adds to the atmosphere. Would highly recommend this hotel and hopefully will return one day. Thank you 🙏

I stayed 1 night, with a friend in a twin room. Initially I found the service a little underwhelming, I expected the welcome to be warmer, but it was very matter of fact and the receptionist had a heavy accent and was a bit hard to understand. Luckily the service improved and the receptionist was warmer later.

The room was well equipped, as expected. I particularly liked the way it was decorated, from the bedheads to the seating area to the wardrobe area everything had an industrial bespoke feel. The beds were soft, but very comfortable. The room had double glazing and was very quiet. From the doors to the parquet herringbone floors, the rooms are a testament to the builder's skills. The black herringbone tiled bathrooms feature a separate toilet and shower and have two basins. I found the opaque bathroom glass a bit too see through for a twin bedded room. I loved the bold carpet in the corridors and the cheeky verbal comments in the lifts.

We enjoyed a drink at the Rooftop Bar - we've been before and love the way it's decorated, both inside and out. The service and views are also good. Breakfast in the Restaurant is al a carte, I was little disappointed that it is not a buffet, but what was offered is of good quality and well cooked. The service was also friendly and efficient.

I thoroughly enjoyed the QT and would happily stay again

My wife and I stayed here for a night to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. All in all a wonderful stay from the rooftop bar to the hotel facilities. A couple of things though left us feeling less than 100% satisfied.

We were upgraded on arrival to a corner room on the top floor which was appreciated but this turned out to be not such a great idea. The noise from the rooftop bar, the constant opening and closing of the “soundproof door” plus the fact that this room was right next to the gym meant that it was not a peaceful position to be upgraded to. More disappointing was the fact that when I questioned the noise on level 11 at check in we were assured this wouldn’t be a problem so we gladly accepted the upgrade. With hindsight I would never stay on level 11 again.

The hotel itself is also not at all well soundproofed from street noise. We could hear everything happening below on surrounding streets right until about 3am when surrounding bars must’ve closed. The bed was also possibly one of the worst mattresses we have ever slept on. More akin to a fold out bed than a king bed in a 5 star hotel. Both of us woke with sore backs. So sleep quality was poor.

Lastly as a nice touch a plate of chocolate truffles and 2 complimentary drink vouchers were left in our room for us. Lovely idea but again timing left a bit to be desired. At check in we spoke at length about how we were going straight to the rooftop bar for drinks on the terrace even confirming if there was space. We were advised to get there quickly before it filled up which we did. After 3 hrs of eating and drinking at the rooftop we returned to 2 complimentary drink vouchers. Not wanting to sound ungrateful but surely this is one thing that could’ve been either given to us at check in or left in our room on arrival. Not placed there 3-4 hrs after check in once we had already spent our money on drinks and food. We ended up giving them back to reception as we couldn’t use them. Again an opportunity to offset them against what we had spent on the bill but no. Timing was laughed off and vouchers accepted back.

They’re only small things but when staying at a 5 star hotel and paying 5 star prices these are the things we expect the hotel to get right.

We still had a wonderful time but probably wouldn’t stay again if for no other reason than the noise from the street and the poor bed quality.

The rooftop ambience and restaurant however we would certainly return for.

Loved this hotel! The welcome was wonderful, staff super friendly and amenities were fantastic. The room (Deluxe King) was so comfy, clean and modern. Crisp linen, great robes and love the idea of the large pump packs of toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion) to reduce waste and those silly little individual bottles. Excellent mini bar, free bottled water (Just Water brand) and the little touches (Nespresso machine, T2 teas) made this stay extra special. Great location too, close to the theatre district and great coffee shops.

My wife and I, we had a night stay in QT Melbourne on 1 January 2021, room no. 510. Staffs are super friendly and the room is nice, everything was awesome until we realised the following and we are still quite disappointed with them: Firstly, we realised all the shampoo, body shampoo, hair conditioner and body lotion had expired (we also had a picture of those expiry dates), called up the lobby and requested for a new set. To our disappointment, the staff came back with the same expired bottles. We were so particular because my wife she had a sensitive skin, dont know what would happen if she had used them and thankfully we have checked before applying them. In the end, the staff offered us a two drink vouchers and my wife she had to shower with soap because the soap was the only item that is not expired. Secondly, it was mentioned in the breakfast voucher (just a piece of paper) that we get to dine in at the rooftop on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday). However to our surprises, it was not, we were quite disappointed and felt misled by the 'paper'. Thirdly, i did mention that this was supposed to be our first anniversary and i thought there would be some form of decoration in our room etc but nope there wasnt anything. Is it because i booked it through AMEX travel hence there wasnt anything or because of covid? Quite disappointed because we thought QT Melbourne is a 5 stars hotel and it supposed to be detailed oriented.

The hotel is modern and funky with lots of interesting fixtures, features and spaces. Staff are efficient - check in took then than 2 minutes and then whoosh! we were in the lift and on our way to the room. The room was a decent size but between the KS bed (very comfy) and bespoke mini bar area, the one thing it lacked was any real room for two suitcases. First world problem but it is, first and foremost, a hotel for travellers with luggage, so perhaps a chair or two could be removed . Bathroom is interesting as you can slide the wall back, similar to a Japanese Ryokan. Shower was hot and a range of decent toiletries supplied. Good in-house movies available for free, wifi was good too. We ate at the restaurant or breakfast on the second morning. It was ala carte and very reasonably priced - scrambled eggs on sourdough was only $11.

We stayed for two nights. The main reason for our visit was to see Harry Potter, which is only 3 blocks away. Given that there is a large gap between the first play and the second, having a hotel close by made sense. All up, a great stay.

My husband and I celebrated our 14th Wedding anniversary for 2 nights in a Corner King room specifically for the freestanding tub in an open plan room, loved the room, very spacious, very clean could not fault the cleanliness and I'm notorious for going over everything with a magnifying glass. We practically stayed in watching movies and ordering room service the whole time except going out to have drinks with friends for a few hours. Free in room movies were great, the TV did cut off alot, possibly due to a timer? I don't know we didnt bother anyone about it. All the staff we interacted throughout the hotel were fantastic. I only had 2 gripes, one was calling for extra pods, sugar and toiletries which didnt arrive after over 30 mins of requesting them, I had to call again to which the items were brought up immediately and one of our in room meals were stone cold, we had ordered room service 4 times during our stay, 2 breakfasts, 1 dinner and 1 lunch....all were fantastic except the lunch order, the steak was cold, club sandwich had dried out and fries were inedible, I didnt cause a fuss because I get anxiety thinking I am being overly critical or whiny so I just ate half of it, besides the rest of the stay was great. I would love to return, it was different to your average 5 star hotel which after years of going to arent that memorable as they are all same. oh we also heard alot of noise from the room above us with stomping but that was ok because we were in a lower room an hearing sounds of the street with chatter and traffic was actually soothing to me.

We had an enjoyable 2 night stay. The rooms are very comfortable with everything you need for a short stay. It is not a cheap hotel so was surprised they didn’t provide complimentary bottled water.... thankfully in Melbourne you don’t need it though. The Rooftop bar was worth a visit but the extremely loud music is not conducive to conversation. They don’t do table service up there which is ok except they didn’t think to mention that when we ordered food & drinks & returned to our table, after 20 mins we went back to the bar to see what the hold up was, to be told “we don’t do table service” The guy didn’t seem to get that this would have been worthwhile telling us at the time we ordered. He was also a bit put out when we requested the Priority Guest disc that Reception advised we were entitled to on drinks & food, when we present our room key. On check out the receptionist didn’t send our car details to the Valet, so we were hanging around for 20+ minutes before we realised the car wasn’t coming. They are clearly still trying to train staff as no one really knew how things worked, and the processes. Which is ok but they should have someone to oversee each area until people are trained. Overall though the staff were friendly, the accommodation excellent and we will stay there again.

I stayed for six nights in a QT Deluxe King room. Wonderfully quiet, well appointed, all the amenities in the room (mini bar, ironing board, hair dryer, lots of pillows, spare blankets). Wonderful shower with rose AND handheld, double sink, and lots of soaps, shampoos, conditioners etc., Not the greatest view from my room, but you are not really booking a room in Melbourne for it's view.

It is in a great location on Russell Street near Bourke, so it is five minutes into the city center shops.

Staff are super friendly and helpful. Room service is also excellent, although most of the meals where not hot (they are delivered in a strange wooden box).
The only criticism I have is that the rooms have parque floors, but that is a personal preference....I prefer carpet.

There are a few eateries in the hotel and the QT Rooftop Bar (gets very busy).

All in all.....I would definitely return

Qt is a very modern, semi industrial style hotel with excellent decor throughout. The staff at all levels are friendly, engaging and helpful. Our King room was large, well lit and nicely appointed with all of the amenities that would be expected. The king bed was very comfortable. The television included additional channels. The bathroom is well designed, the shower excellent, large bath sheets, quality toiletries and a hair dryer that works well. The common areas were many and catered for all needs. The rooftop bar was somewhat crowded and noisy for our liking, however we had the choice of enjoying the bar on level 1 which was much quieter, relaxed and very comfortable. Staff service was excellent. Breakfast was cooked to order and the quality and taste was super. One of the best breakfasts that we have experienced and is vastly superior to the normal buffet style offering. Valet parking is somewhat expensive, but Melbourne streets and car parks are a nightmare and getting worse all of the time, so allow for and pay for valet parking to save your sanity. We highly recommend the Qt for a city stay.

Yes - have used it a couple of times mate. $65 bucks, come and go as you like, and they looked after it even after we'd check out until we were ready to go. A little steep if you're just going to park and leave it there, but good if you'll be coming and going.

Im not sure how many- but the suite we booked had a fantastic tub. Check the QT website direct and when you choose your room, you will see the list of facilities for that room. Hope this helps!

I can't comment on the loft, but the corner king I used earlier this week was slightly larger (4 sq meters) and did have windows on two sides - but it only allowed me to see office buildings on two sides instead of just one.
