Had lovely apartment with sea view, all the equipment you need to prepare meals, we had friends staying in a smaller apartment so we cooked for them and had a few drinks rather than go out. Slept well, nice quiet location with ocean views. Used the pool which was nice and crashing, also had a bbq area. Could have done with more, tea and coffee and milk, also only 3 shampoos to last for 8 days. Apartments nearest end to airport, so taxi only 16-17 aus$

The Apartments are down toward the airport end of the Esplanade but that can have it's benefits. It's quieter. The pool is bigger than most. It is surrounded by foliage and private from the street. You can walk in down the far end, making it easier for older people to get in and out. If you don't need a sea view, then Apartment 7 on the ground floor as it's own private gate to the pool about 10 steps away. Bonus you don't have to climb up and down steps. There is a bust stop in front of the nearby hospital that will take you into town.

If you want to stay in Cairns, I can not scream it louder, DO NOT TO STAY HERE. The reviews are good but locals say the owner makes the staff write these when in reality, it’s a s***hole. A few of the reasons for this: 1. There is no boom gate for the parking. I know this doesn’t seem like the biggest deal breaker but when the police are making random stops inside the hotel parking area, my alarm bells go off and I’d prefer to have my car and belongings secure. 2. Had a place on the top floor. When we came in, there was a slippery oil like substance on the floor. We had to clean it up ourselves and when we spoke to the owner about it, she said it must be the condensation from the air conditioner from the apartment below us. Not only is this a serious slipping hazard but what a stupid and ridiculous response! However, we came to find this wasn’t the stupidest answer we would receive from her. 3. We found ants all over the kitchen bench. It looks as though they were heading into a hole in the grout above the tiles. The owner came up, with no shoes on and asked us what type of ants they were. Obviously we didn’t know so she had a look. “Oh, they’re little sugar ants. What a bummer”. I kid you not, that was her exact response. The only solution she could offer was a can of bug spray the next morning. Also, to do this, we had to use our own mobiles due to the fact the 2 phones in the room were not working. 4. Sheets were dirty, paper thin with stains all over them as well as only being rationed 1 pillow each with the ones for the sofa bed in the cupboard looking quite filthy. There were also numerous missing knives and cutlery, so too bad if I needed to cut up a meal! 5. With 6 people staying 3 nights, you would assume they would give you more than 1 1/4 rolls of toilet paper! How long is that meant to last us? Housekeeping is severely lacking here. 6. Who on earth keeps saying this is in a good location!?!? It is ages away from anywhere and you honestly have to drive to get into town if you don’t feel like walking for hours. We were going to stay there 3 nights (ended up staying one) and they gave us a refund for the last night after stating there is a 2-night minimum. I genuinely have never wanted to be out of a place quicker. This place is an absolute joke. I have travelled around Australia and the world and this is hands down probably the worst I have ever been to. Hopefully this review will help others in the future to NOT STAY HERE and be informed about the proper state of the Waterfront Terraces.

We stayed for 4 nights over Christmas. The room was a good size for a family of 5. It was clean and great to have a washing machine and dryer in the apartment to use. We could hear aeroplanes, but this was not a nuisance. Quite interesting to see the different ones coming in and out. The pool is heated and on the day we arrived, it was too warm for a hot December day, but was better a couple of days later. Pool was clean and large. Gardens are well kept and in a handy location. We had a lovely view from our balcony. It could be hard to stay here with kids in prams or elderly people etc as there is no lift, but you could request a ground floor apartment so this wouldn't be a problem.

I am writing this review after just dropping the key off following a recent 4 say stay. This has to be one of my favourite places to stay in Cairns. We found it practical, functional, well positioned, great parking and a beautiful outlook from the balcony. Of particular value to us was the highly functional small kitchen and laundry. I did hear planes but honestly they were not noisy during our stay and I slept like a rock. We will definitely return.

It is a spacious one-bedroom apartment on the Esplanade. There are no supermarkets or restaurants close by. If you have a car it is not a problem and very convenient to all attractions. It had a two-burner cooker and an oven. It also had a good selection of pans, cutlery and crockery. The TV did not have Foxtel. There were no instructions for many equipment including TV programs. The bed was not comfortable. There was ample furniture. Place was clean and the reception was helpful. There was sufficient parking on the premises.

We stayed here for 5 nights and the apartment was spacious and tidy. It also allowed you to check in after hours, but do make arrangements prior to this with the owner. The location is great and the view is lovely. We did have a bit of banging from our neighbours above and someone kept parking in our car space. However, other than that, we would happily stay here again. Would of liked clean towels each day but that’s what you sign up for with this property.
