The Inn Cairns describes itself as a boutique apartment, however this is very misleading. It is a 3-star hotel at best, with the website the most attractive thing about the complex. The hotel is run down, and is in a very ordinary part of town. The strip joint is only 5 metres away from the front door and the Cairns homeless and desperate seem happy to spend their evenings outside the complex. The bathroom in the unit we stayed had mouldy walls (refer photos) and was in need of a significant clean. The apartment had an odour and the furnishings were run down. The wifi wasn’t working properly during our stay and we couldn’t connect. The complex is noisy at night as homeless people gather outside the complex and during our stay made disturbing noises (screaming, fighting) throughout the night. The Inn Cairns is not somewhere I’d encourage anyone to stay.

very average hotel It was rated 4 Stars I more like half star I only gave it a one because it would not let me give it a half star The room was dirty the walls and the room ceilings had marks all over them the walls the same and the bathroom had MOULD every were the shower curtain was black on the bottom not hard to replace very noisy you can hear other guest above us moving furniture and talking the bedroom has double glass squares that if you look in you could see through them the sofa smelt like mold the whole hotel needs a massive upgrade or nocked down and rebuilt the pool is cold and needs repairs the Air cone was 20 years old and on the last night we had to be up by 4 for our 6am flight yet just after 9 there was a family of 7 in the pool with kids screaming and running amuck on the hotel balcony's the pool is closed at 9 yet they got in you could hear the yelling over the TV worst hotel i have stayed in. When we arrived the fella was sitting on his chair looking at google and not really worried about our group. The older lady was really good but that was it . Never stay again

Definately not a "boutique" hotel but something I would expect as a backpacker. Walked into the apartment to a musty smell. Perhaps with Covid it is not used much but badly needs airing. My husband says the basement car park was quite wet so perhaps there are building water leaks. Apartment was very dated. Lounge chair is quite old. TV reception, considering you are in Cairns city, was very poor with only a few channels watchable due to the poor reception. Bedroom had a king bed in a very small room. Just enough room to walk around the other side of the bed. Bathroom very badly needs refurbishment with stains around the top of the bath (shower over bath style) and bad touch up paint over what is probably water leaks on the wall. Floor must of been dirty as when I stepped into the wet shower I left dirty footprints. I had only been walking bare foot in the apartment. Our little courtyard had old plastic chairs and was not inviting. We were on Level 1 and the view was just a wall with some old palm trees. We went up to the pool/barby area which was reasonable but overlooked the very old grotty rear areas and roofs of all the surrounding buildings. Went up to the top floor garden area to look at the view but there was very few plants there. Again not inviting. The position in Cairns is good though with it being right in the centre of Cairns and a few streets back from the esplanade. Was expecting a much nicer place. Living only an hour away we will not be back.

Would just like to say a big thank you to Francis for saving our holiday as we were very unhappy with the hotel we had booked. We were found a fabulous apartment ..self contained with a beautiful balcony, with everything we needed and thought we had previously booked. We had a great time and were left to enjoy ourselves as we wanted. Great stay and fantastic staff!

Never mind that we supported this venue during the darkest days of the Lockdown, we found that not only have the prices been jacked up 50% or more since then, even for returning trade like us, a reduction negotiated with Harry during the week was overridden by Rani over the weekend prior to our planned arrival. Consequently, we have cancelled our booking and are highly unlikely to ever revisit this venue. One bright side to add: Agoda have been very understanding, fully refunding and NOT imposing a Cancellation Fee; it is good to see honourable conduct from them, at least.
