Worst place I have ever stayed at. The health department should inspect. The floor was dirty and the beds had sand in them. The air-con units in the walkway stick out and my son was concussed as he ran into it and even the staff said they have run into it themselves but no one has addressed the issue. Kids went to the pool and the toilets doors were locked and no one could unlock them nor did they care. The toilet had hair on it form a previous client (see photo). The place does not have any sound proofing in the floors and at 5 am the amount of noise form above was deafening. We all woke up feeling ill and all had sinus and hay fever issues due to the room being so dirty.
Check in was friendly and fast. Nice, convenient area with parking. Had to ask for an area map. Room was fairly clean but not attention to detail. Hairs in the sink and gross next to bed and side table. Curtain did not close all way so had to get tape so people couldn’t see in. The shower did not turnoff properly. Woke up to a massive roach — really happy I didn’t see before bed. For the price, it was a good option. I would not pay much more.
Hotel was good value at just under $73 for a twin room for the night and was walking distance to all the action but not in amongst it. My twin room was a good size and the split system air conditioner worked quietly and efficiently. The premises overall are ageing, but were overall still in good repair, and it was a surprise to receive a follow up customer service survey from the property's manager Weiqing Ni. Parking wasn't a problem on the premises, though if you're there in peak season then there are more rooms than there are parking spots, so you may find yourself having to park on the street outside. Reception doesn't seem to be staffed at night but I did receive a phone call on my day of check-in and was able to make arrangements for my "after hours" arrival. From memory, I think there may have been some issues with the water pressure in the shower, which resulted in it being a little difficult to control the temperature. My bathroom had a "shower over bath" configuration but I was disappointed to not have a plug provided for the bathtub, which made it near-impossible to take a bath if I so desired. Another minor detail was that there was a complimentary wrapped biscuit provided with the tea and coffee etc., but it would have been nice to actually have two packets provided, seeing as it was a twin room and it would be safe to assume there would be two people staying! Otherwise, I was genuinely surprised and satisfied with what I got for my money here, and have no major complaints. My room was clean and ready and everything worked.…
Great place very nice and clean great friendly staff beds were great pool good I was here for work I would definitely stay again 👍👍close to city and shops I’ll be back next year I would recommend staying
My first stay here, for 2 nights. Manager at check in was friendly and quick. Key to my door would not work, so she changed to room next door. Not really a fan of sliding glass entry doors though. Room was clean although it is an older style motel in Cairns. Bed was a great surprise as it was very comfortable. Rates are very reasonable for this motel. I did not have breakfast as it looked rather lacking for the $8 charge. Also did not use the restaurant either, as I usually walk to the Esplanade for dinner, which is only a 10 minute walk away. I will stay here again.
