We had a fabulous stay at the Hilton, cairns! Staff super friendly and efficient. Thanks to all at the front desk! Great location on the esplanade. Lots of restaurants you can walk to. Swimming pool brilliant! Super clean hotel adhering to COVID! Breakfast was great 👍! Would like ALL hotels to stop using small shampoo/ conditioning containers( not good for our fragile environment) Thanks again! We will return and would certainly recommend this hotel to friends! Tip: we upgraded to an ocean view room , with a balcony at a very minimal cost! Worth it!!!
We had previously stayed at the doubletree before so didnt think twice about staying again. Beautiful reception and great staff ...gotta luv the cookies on check in. I booked a water view room and was given the room right at the curve where we had a view of the water and other apartments - If I was staying longer I would have asked to move. But apart from that - super clean, super comfy bed - had the best sleep. Good choice of breakfast and was yummy...great stay
Good hotel, modern lobby area but rooms are not quite as new. Rooms are clean and plenty suitable for a week-long trip. However, considering the location so close to the Great Barrier Reef, I was surprised that the hotel is not more eco-friendly. - The bathrooms have the usual signs stating that if you don't want your towels to be replaced, to hang them up. Despite doing this every day, our towels were changed on all but one day, which is incredibly frustrating when you're trying to make a more eco-friendly choice. - The toilet paper was also changed a couple of times when a roll was simply nearing the end and had not been completely finished, which is wasteful. The same is true for the toiletries in the bathroom - if they were nearing being empty, another small plastic bottle was added to the collection and the other removed. While toiletries in the room are appreciated and were lovely Crabtree and Evelyn options, larger bottles, perhaps made from more sustainable options than regular plastic (biodegradable or glass for example), locked into the wall if Hilton are worried about guests removing them, would be a better option. - The rooms have the typical Hilton set up with two double beds. Even though we did not use the second bed, the sheets were changed anyway which is a waste of energy. A sofa or somewhere to sit would be more useful and a better use of space in this room. All in all, it was a good hotel in a great location for Cairns and the staff were all lovely. However, I would like to give my feedback to further improve it's eco-friendliness, especially when they're just a stone's throw away from the waterfront and home of all of those gorgeous turtles!…
We enjoyed our stay here. We did have high expectations because of the 'Hilton' name but this is not 5 star. The 10 minute stroll in to town was great. The hotel is across the road from the water. Note that there is no beach as such in this area but the HUGE Lagoon in town makes up for this. Our room was large and very comfortable. We enjoyed the pool area and spa. It did need some maintenance but we were very aware of staff shortages in Cairns so... Pool towels are available from Reception. It would have been handy if the barmen had had a stash but perhaps they are too busy. We would very happily stay here again.
Cairns Double Tree. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we felt welcomed and at home. From the little things to coffee pods/coffee machine in the room to the extended pool access time, I couldn't recommend this place enough. I'd also like to make a special shout out to Simone for just being an all round awesome person/employee. When I come back to Cairns, I'll 100% stay here again.
