We stayed at Bailey for a total of 7 nights- 2 plus a luxury escapes deal for 5 nights. The Positives: Great location and easy to walk to everything Modern , new and clean Staff at reception were friendly, warm and helpful but let down by others( see below) Mark at the Milk bar provided excellent customer service in difficult circumstances Great rain shower in the room Free in house movies Comfortable beds Nespresso machine with coffee pods provided and replenished The not so good: Room was quite small and had only 1 vanity. Appears to have been designed for single business travelers. Room cleaning was diabolical. For the first 4 nights they did not clean our room on 3 occasions and I had to complain to get it done. ( this was after 5pm) Then when it was cleaned , they left dirty coffee cups/wine and water glasses. They left a bottle of cleaning liquid in the bathroom for 3 days. Not what you expect from any hotel , let alone one professing to be 5 stars. Our tea was not replenished and when I queried this with the housekeeping staff I was told they had run out. The blonde haired reception staff member did sort this out and was excellent- pity her service ethos was not followed by others. The grab and go breakfast lacked variety (fruit juice, yoghurt, coffee and banana bread every day) and for the first 3 days we were handed fridge cold banana bread ( no butter) and told it could not be heated up. When we queried this further as there was a toaster in full view we were told it was broken. Fortunately a staff change occurred and Mark readily offered to toast the banana bread and provided all round excellent customer service. The pool is in shade for most of the time and is cold. 6 loungers around the pool make it a game of chance if you do want to spend time around the pool We could not get a drink around the pool on any day that Pachamamma restaurant is closed which is most days Whilst you can charge back to your room from the other Cystalbrook hotels you cannot use their facilities. All up this hotel did not meet our expectations and this is the first time I have felt that a luxury escapes package was not good value for money.

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed at the Bailey for a work trip during a difficult time due to Covid. The hotel is beautiful with a wonderful outdoor pool and dining area. What made the stay so memorable was the staff. They were so friendly, helpful and patient with us we really enjoyed getting to know them. A special mention to Annbolin, Angelo and Jay who are just great people and really looked after us! Would highly recommend for a stay in cairns, right near the water, lagoon and restaurants. Would 100% stay again.

This hotel was everything we expected and more. My husband and I have stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world and this is the best place we have ever stayed at. It was very modern and all the amenities were so convenient. I especially loved the layout of the room itself and all the tasteful storage spaces. The staff were amazing especially Kirsty and Amar. They were friendly and professional and were so helpful with all our requests. They easily exceeded all our expectations and made our hotel stay so memorable. We will definitely be coming back again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher level…it’s quieter and the views are better.

We stayed for two nights in a 2 Bedroom Residence and wish we stayed longer. Everything is provided for self catering with a full size fridge, oven and stove top and dishwasher. The bathroom amenities were divine and having two bathrooms was so handy as was the washing machine and dryer. We could also Cast a movie from our Netflix account to watch on the bedroom TV. The central location is perfect, just a block from the Esplanade and so close to restaurants and the lagoon. We've stayed at Riley Crystalbrook too and loved Bailey just as much. Will definitely be back and might try out Flynn.

Loved our stay here. Beautifully appointed room and gorgeous bathroom. Truly special Hotel and value for money compared with some others in price bracket. Location10/10 as a very short stroll to The Esplanade and all services including a well stocked IGA that opens late. Not sure why no room service or breakfast service?? But apart from that great place.
