We stayed at Sails in the Desert for 4 nights. The accommodation was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly. Everything was very well maintained and clean in the resort as well. I was also very thankful for the support when I was not feeling very well. The staff in the medical Centre were fantastic. I only wish a few more restaurants were open. $44/person for a buffet breakfast is over the top. The meal at Pira on our last night was a highlight. Pity the Sounds of Silence Dinner was not any where near the same quality.
We were picked up by the resorts free shuttle coach service and after three drop offs at other accommodation places it was our turn. Only about 8klms from airport 10 mins. On arrival when you walk in the lobby you know it’s 5 star. The staff were so welcoming and even though two coach loads check in Was fairly quick we had a Terrace room which were on the second floor room 222. There was lift access but once on that level it was a bit of a walk to get to the room. There was also stairs going down to the pool, bar restaurant and garden area right next to our room which was quicker. We entered our room to find our luggage had already arrived. The room was definitely 5star very spacious modern and clean. The king bed which I have to say was the best sleep ever sooo comfortable. The room also had a dining table plenty of storage and a large bathroom double sinks. The great thing about this room was the terrace. So spacious with outdoor table and chairs a double day bed and sun lounges we used it a lot to relax with a drink after tours. the Terrace included a delicious buffet breakfast in the dining room every morning. There was a relaxing poolside bar and outside restaurant as well where you can pick up something to eat most of the day. The pool was nice and refreshing a bit cool in the mornings but you had it to yourself. The gardens were gorgeous and the signage showing the names of the native trees and plants was informative. Room service was another option which we didn’t take so i can’t comment. A short walk or free shuttle takes you to the town centre or Hotel it runs every 20 mins right through till late all tours will pick up out front of Sails. We enjoyed three fantastic nights here and met so many lovely people. We cannot recommend a stay here enough when visiting Uluru.…
You are not served table service on your own. You are treated as if your money is a different colour to those as couples. You are ignored if on your own. My check in I was greeted with a cool towel and lemon myrtle drink, which was so lovely. However, the ladies then said to me, “are you it?” Unfortunately, that became the precedents of my stay. The fact that many people staying at the hotel had been upgraded to the Sails, due to a cheaper hotel being closed, exasperated my stay, as I had booked The Sails and paid top dollar. Very disappointed.
This hotel was amazing. The service was fantastic. Porters deliver your bags to the room within 15 minutes and are very friendly and the most helpful. Every staff member went out of their way to assist with a smile. The room facilities were great and the pool a much needed relief from heat. Close to the village centre for anything you need and just an overall great hotel.
Part of a recent charter trip direct from Perth, for 3 days and 2 nights to Uluru. Room was big and excellent standard with all appointments. The Resort was very comfortable, clean and tidy and ensured a most enjoyable trip for a 2 night stays.
