We've stayed here a number of times in the last few years but not since Covid struck in 2020. We had a two bedroomed suite on the eighth floor as we had our two grandchildren with us. Very disappointed with the standard of cleaning and general maintenance of the place which is a shame as it used to be well presented. Staff were pretty tardy at times and the reception phone generally not answered. I also noted lots of flies on the seventh floor corridors which we had to go through to get to reception. Doubt I'd return which is a shame as it it well located for light rail, trains etc
We have just returned from a fabulous stay at the Meriton suites Waterloo sydney nsw. We were visiting family so wanted to stay close by in Waterloo. The staff are great and the apartment was wonderful. Everything you might need is there. The apartment was cleaned once a week but if you needed anything you just had to dial reception and they were so helpful. We asked for a room on a high floor with a nice view and we got one on the 13th floor with a fab view of Moor Park Golf Course. Prices were very reasonable for Sydney. I would definitely recommend. We will stay there again when we next visit. Thank you Meriton.
I wrote a review last week, that you can read below, but am now reviewing it, after talking to the manager. He understands the issues we had, and also the disappointment of not having a view, as the advertising shows the rooms with lovely views over the parkland. We were granted a generous discount, which we really appreciate. Thank you. The rooms are really spacious, and well presented. All what we needed. Kitchen well appointed, and was the bathroom. Fabulous huge bed. The location is really great, with many eateries, and a supermarket, chemist, etc. and a pleasant walk to the SCG, which was what we needed. Parking very good, after we worked out how to use the access gate!! Lots of spaces and a generous size. We will return, but will ask for a high floor, and with a view. Looking forward to this in the near future. Last weeks comments - I booked this hotel a month in advance, loved their advertising with fabulous views over the parklands. On arrival, the room wasn't ready so we went for a walk. When we did get in our view was scaffolding for the painters. Not happy, apart from no view, we expected no privacy, so asked for a change. We were offered another room, but had to wait a long time for that to be ready, not good as we were had a walk to the SCG to an AFL game, so time was important to us. Finally getting into this room, with no scaffolding but only a view throught the trees across the road at other buildings, we settled in. Next morning we had an early knock on the door, couldn't believe it, it was painters needing access. We refused their entry, so they went off to speak to the manager. Then a phone call from the manger, asking when would we be out of the building today, so that the painters could come through to the balcony. We said that it was not going to happen, that they could do it tomorrow after we went home. The cost of the two nigts was over $400 with parking, no way should we have had to suffer this. We should have been warned, and a reduced rate offered, very disappointed. Our dealings with the Meriton group have always been excellent, not so this time. The rooms were both good, although the second had steep stairs to the bedroom /bathroom/laundry, not ideal for older people, The reception desk people with pleasant, and over worked, so everything took a long time. Luckily we allowed enough time to get to the match, and enjoyed the walk, only taking about 25 minutes each way, along the main roand, then over the foot bridge into the parklands, just following the crowd.…
First suite I was allocated was dirty - not just a bit dusty - dirty - toilet was disgusting. The suite had clearly not been cleaned/inspected prior to my arrival. Duty manager, Lachlan, was responsive and professional - took photos and spoke to Manager who could not move me to another room until the next day - no offer to have the room cleaned that night - I was just expected to put up with it. Next morning had not heard about new room so went to reception. Eventually the manager gave me new room and offered financial recompense. Credit was put through following day. 1 week later on checking my bank statement I discovered Meriton Waterloo had deducted an additional $178.00 from my account. Called today and was told it was a team member error and would be refunded. Checked bank account again and instead of a credit they have debited me another $181.00. Manager this this time blamed their system. At no point has there been an actual apology for any these issues - the dirty suite, the 2 additional debits or the amount of time I have spent trying to sort this out. This used to be my favourite apart-hotel but somethings gone very wrong. We will not be staying here again.…
I stayed 14 days here - on my own. The apartment was spacious with beautiful views of the Moore Park Golf club. The staff were friendly and professional. They sent my deliveries to my room promptly. Chai the manager went above and beyond with his service delivery. Chai was professional and helpful and made me feel welcome.
