Beautiful venue to stay at and hosted a lovely evening event. Aga and Kinga looked after us wonderfully at breakfast and were extremely accommodating as we were a very big table! Absolutely delightful.
Aga and Kinga were great at accommodating us and worked hard the entire time to make sure we were comfortable and happy with our breakfast. They were the stars of the show! Resort is clean and services are excellent.
Took a couple of days off and stayed there with some friends for a much needed catchup, having the most amazing time!! Had a couple of queries which the staff were quick to help with, so many thanks to Aga for everything. Looking forward to coming back in the next few months!
Visited for golf break two rounds of golf and overnight stay. Both courses were in good condition and challenging. Other than the sand in the bunkers being below par the general feeling was two excellent courses. The rooms we’re good and the breakfast and meals that were included in our package. The layout of the hall was good and we all enjoyed the stay
This is a lovely hotel, set in beautiful grounds - the public rooms are elegant and our bedroom was "better than average". However the restaurant is struggling - and it seems , primarily, to be a "management" issue. The young staff are (generally) smart, enthusiastic and helpful........but there is a surfeit of "managers" - note the small "m" - 2 or 3 are excellent, but their are others who have no interest in providing a proper level of customer service - and, a couple of them, are setting a very bad example to the younger members of staff. There appears to be a desperate need for a "big M" Manager to ensure that service standards are maintained at a consistently good level. Whilst, perhaps a lesser issue, we did find that the menu choices were much more restrictive, and repetitive, than we have enjoyed at other Q Hotels in recent months........in this context its a "good do significantly better".........overall though, we would like to return if Trip Advisor reports show the sort of consistency one would expecct…

We were lucky to get a deal on the room rate by booking directly with the hotel but the room was badly in need of refurbishment. The hairdryer did not work nor did the TV remote control. We tried phoning reception but there was no answer. We reported this to reception the next day. Food in the restuarant was good and the service excellent. However the drinks in the bar are extorniate and the prices are not easily visible. Therefore quite a shock to be charged £11.85 for a gin & tonic and half a pint of cider. On the plus side the outdoor facilities are lovely and we were able to easily spectate at the Prefosessional PGA championship. We did not use the Spa or Gym. All in all a mixed review - there is considerable room for improvement.
Really enjoyed our Spa Lunch thanks to fantastic service from Aga in the restaurant. We had chicken Caesar salad and the pepperoni flatbread followed by the berry fruit salad for desert - all of which was really good and was enjoyed with a beautiful view of the golf course! Special thanks again to Aga, you were so lovely to us and really made our day! Thank you!
Amazing place to stay the facilities was excellent and the rooms were very nice and clean and we had amazing food. We had the steak and it was really nice and thank you to Emily who was very helpful xxxx
This is not my first time visiting Slaley Hall but it will be my last. I would have been better off staying in a local pub. The rooms are shabby and dated. No room service anymore. If you want ‘room service’ you have to go to the restaurant to order your food and drink and then they call you when it is ready to be collected. So carried my own drinks back to the room. A waiter did actually bring my food to my room so I should be grateful for that but my £17.50 belly pork meal was served in a pizza box and was not even on a plate. This place has no standards anymore. I returned the meal to the restaurant. Any decent chef would be horrified that his food was being served on cardboard.
