Only a one night stopover but would have happily stayed longer. Warm, inviting, very comfortable, friendly staff, great quality tea/coffee etc in the rooms. No noise, easy parking. Nothing to dislike. Would definitely return. Great food in the shop
We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights 31/8 & 1/9 in a Crafted room. We enjoyed our stay so much we decided to book a further stay, so when we arrived back home I rang the hotel and booked a Crafted plus room for 3 nights 8-9-10 November. We arrived earlier than expected so went into the Lounge bar area for a light lunch. Really comfortable area with a wonderful open log fire, very warming on a cold November day. The food and drinks we found to be very good and reasonably priced, with the staff welcoming. When we got to our room we found this to be large and comfortable with a table and 2 chairs and also a 2 seater couch. The bed was large and very comfortable and the views from the window were truly amazing, it was so quiet you find it hard to believe you are anywhere near a motorway services area. The good sized en-suite bathroom had a bath with shower over and also a separate walk-in shower cubicle. We ate in the main restaurant on each of the nights and as had been experienced on our previous stay we found the food to be excellent value with a good but slightly restricted menu due to current problems relating to the hospitality industry in general at this time. The attentiveness of the staff was first class. Breakfast on each morning gave us a choice of anything from the continental breakfast plus/or full English breakfast. Excellent, and again the attentiveness of the staff was first class. We would like to thank all the staff, from checking in to checking out including the cleaners who helped to keep the hotel COVID safe. Special thanks to Heather for the interest she took in looking after us. We will definitely be back.…
Breakfast was great - no, it's not in the service station! The hotel has a lovely restaurant. Rooms were cosy and despite how close this is to the motorway, it was very quiet. We arrived at 1.30am due to traffic on the M6 and it was great that the reception is manned 24 hours and we had a warm welcome.
Stayed 2 nights visiting family. Great welcome, cozy, warm and delightful. Dinner was delicious, bar with fire and comfy chairs. Breakfast was good and our room (craft) was wonderful (except for the safety light that is far too bright!). Really enjoyed the place, great views from the restaurant. Will come again.
Our first stay on the way south from Scotland. Reception was bright and airy and the greeting warm and sincere. The room was clean and comfortable and everything thoughtfully arranged. The bar area is spacious and lovely to see a real fire on a grey damp evening We dined in the room; the food and service was excellent. After the M74 this is a real oasis, with helpful friendly staff in a very well maintained hotel. Definitely a stop over on our next trip south.
