If you are looking for a fun, romantic and intimate resort you will love Desire. It is clothing optional, so you need to be prepared for seeing a lot of skin. If you are a prudish person, then probably not the right choice for you. The staff is amazing, so friendly and attentive, which made the service outstanding. The spa was also great, we had a couples hot stone massage and it was awesome, just made you melt. The gym is not large but has very nice and up to date equipment. The only negative is if you are a runner you will have to use a treadmill as it is in a jungle area in the Cancun region of Mexico and it is not conducive for running any level of distance on the beach. The food is good but not amazing, but again the staff and service is awesome and makes the experience great, but the process for booking reservations could be better The main pool is very lively and fun, but they have second pool that is quiet if you prefer. The beach is small but beautiful. We were there for 4 nights and had an amazing time and will likely return again for another extended weekend sometime in the future

Best quest service I have ever encountered. Every employee always went out of their way to make sure we always had everything needed to have the best possible quest experience!!! . From the welcoming friendly and helpful front desk people Asher,Elizabeth and Diego the amazing, Butlers , G and Daniel who made sure we had everything we needed from reservations to transportation, . Every meal we were greeted with the biggest smile from Eunice or Enrique who were always so friendly and accommodating and always made you feel special…even Matilde who made our omelettes so happy and humble, and a great cook! Yolanda made my Husband smoothies that he liked and they don’t even have a smoothie station . Carlos one of our favourites waiters at Salo and also works making the best coffee espresso and cappuccinos at the coffee bar ever day not to mention He has worked there 16 years!! Africa a longtime waitress works at the outside pool who walked in the rain to get us an umbrella! she is such a sweetheart We spent most time with the bartenders,😁 and I wanted to take all of them home with me. Abraham was hysterical, so friendly so fun and who would go out of his way to make sure I had my favourite alcohol and wines he too loves his job he has been there 11 years, and Gustavo a cutie at the pool bar omg so fast such a great outgoing, funny personality I wanted to take them home with me!, and there was Ivan, Samuel, Enuse little chicken Luiz…. and Andy a newbie who is being trained by the best, because they all were the best, and they each deserve five stars!! Each individual is so hard-working and so proud to be an employee… that says a lot ! So thank you each one for making our vacation spatacular!

Finally stayed at Desire for two nights. We normally stay at Temptation but this trip decided to end it at Desire. We fell in love instantly. Our room wasn’t ready so we hung out at the quiet pool until 3. After getting our room we went to the party pool then jacuzzi. Loved that the music was loud but not too loud. It has a very relaxing atmosphere which was nice after spending 5 nights at Temptation. We both thought the food was excellent. Only downfall is the restaurants seem small so getting reservations is a bit of a pain. The butler Victor surprised us and got a reservation at Eros our last night. All the staff were super nice and wanted everyone to have a great trip. I feel bad for not remembering all the staff members names that helped us but some are G, Victor, Ilse, Asher, Elizabeth, Ivan and Brian. My husband and I highly recommend Desire!

Our stay at Desire Resort was beyond amazing! Thanks to all the playmakers, especially Oliver! He infused every moment with fun energy, from his warm welcome to his insightful recommendations. The resort's ambiance is pure romance, with lush surroundings, pristine beaches, and luxurious accommodations. Dining was exquisite, with gourmet cuisine served in elegant settings. Can't wait to return for another magical escape! Highly recommended for couples seeking intimacy, relaxation, and a dose of fun.

We loved the resort and the staff at Desire RM. The resort is gorgeous and we loved the older side as much as the new side (Eden). The staff really do go out of their way to make your stay special. We felt very well taken care of. We booked a beloved suite in the new Eden area. The room was beautiful with a view overlooking the pool and ocean. Very modern and comfortable room with a hot tub. We were unable to use our hot tub due to the excessive humidity it created being in the middle of the room. Perhaps a vent over the tub could help. It certainly wasn’t a deal-breaker for us. Everything else was working well and the room was well-appointed. Upon arrival to our room we found a bottle of chilled champagne, macarons, fruit and two bottles of tequila. (We didn’t drink any of it but we appreciated the gesture). The staff decorated our door with a banner (for my birthday) and provided daily snacks mid-afternoon. One afternoon we came back to the room to find balloon and star cutouts covering the bed. We appreciated the little touches. The staff was very attentive and constanly asking if there was anything they could do for us. Our overall impression was very good. The only part we didn’t enjoy was the aggressive 90 minute sales pitch to become a “premier member” followed by not receiving the $150 gift card that they had promised for attending. We booked our trip through a third party site Right Connections Travel. We were not referred by anyone. We didn’t receive any discounts. We were not required to sit through a presentation. When we arrived we were offered $150 gift card by Caesar at Premiere (to use toward our booked photo shoot with Provoke photography) if we would sit through a member presentation and we agreed because we were actually interested. While we were initially interested in learning more about becoming members the aggressive and confusing sales pitch that we actually received during the presentation (done by Ricky and his manager, not Caesar) ultimately had us deciding not to become members. The manager (male) was especially aggressive and borderline rude to us when we asked for clarification or to see something typed out and legible rather than magic marker scribbles on paper. We were offered no written contrac to look at or review. Just fast talking and confusing benefits scribbles in shorthand with a Sharpie. We didn’t feel comfortable with the presentation and were feeling pressured so we declined to become members at that time. It was overwhelming. This was on Thursday. We were told after the meeting by the premier desk staff that our gift card had been activated and to simply let Provoke photo know that we have a gift card to use. We had our photo shoot the next day (Friday). Caesar saw us walking around the resort later that same afternoon (Thursday) and asked if we had received our gift card for attending the presentation. I told him the person at the Premier desk said it was attached to our account but they hadn’t actually handed me anything. He seemed concerned that I needed a physical gift card so I went back to the desk to ask again if I needed a physical gift card to give to my photographer and was told no again. They said the gift card amount ($150) would be deducted from our photo shoot cost (which was well over $1200 + tip). On Friday, when it came time to choose our photo package I asked Ruben (photographer) to apply the $150 gift card. He seemed bothered by the request and told me he needed the physical gift card in order to deduct anything from the cost of the photo shoot. When I explained they didn’t give me anything he sighed telling me he needed the physical gift card (which made me feel like this has happened before). My partner went to the premier desk again to try to get the physical gift card our photographer asked us for and he was told that I should have been given that already. Back to the photography office to wait for a Premier manager to come figure out the gift card situation and he said that I had already used it. We were getting very frustrated with the lack of communication and organization with Premier and wasting more of our vacation time so we decided to pay full price for the photo shoot including a $100 tip to our photographer Ruben. When we were checking out the next day we were asked by Elizabeth how we enjoyed our first experience. We were honest that everything at the resort was wonderful including all the staff except how we were treated by Premier staff (Caesar was the one exception. He was very kind and thoughtful and we have nothing bad to say of him). When I told Elizabeth that the one thing I didn’t like was that we never received what we were promised for sitting for the Premiere presentation she called over the Premier manager on duty (female). The manager apologized, asked when we’d be returning and took down my email and phone number telling me she would resolve it by having our photographer either send us extra photos (ones we hadn’t purchased with our package) or she would see about sending us a photo coffee table book to make up for the gift card issue. We have been home a week now and we haven’t been contacted by anyone other than emails to rebook another stay or fill out a survey. While we loved the resort itself and the resort staff, we will never again sit for a Premier member presentation. We mostly stayed low-key and didn’t visit the spa or boutique while we were there this time. We also didn’t really interact with the playmakers since we mostly stayed on the quieter side but they did seem to have great energy and they added to the fun vibe on the Eden side. There were a few specific staff members who went out of their way to make our trip especially memorable including our butlers, Jonathan and Victor. Also Abel who was very attentive and helpful, J.Jesus our waiter, Aaron our waiter, Daniel at the pool / cabanas and Elizabeth at the front desk (thank you for finding our headphones). Overall it was a positive experience that we very much enjoyed and we are already planning our dates for our second visit.

We went to DRM/Eden from 3/14 -3/21, we were in an Ocean view room (Building 22) Desire Riviera Maya may be being renamed “Eden” but we believe it is still all the same There is a new entrance (no longer driving past the croc/alligator), bigger lobby area, new gift shop, pool, restaurant, hot tub, and 2 new multi-story buildings with what we believe to be “suites” that I believe they are calling “Eden” We believe most of these new rooms were open/available depending on your Premier level or depth of your pockets. We saw pictures of them, but did not actually see one in person. They did look awesome. We did meet people that were staying in them and really liked them. While we were there, they were still working in the lobby area, installing an elevator, working another “new” restaurant that will be Mexican, as well as the new disco/social room. The new Mexican Restaurant, Disco and Social room will be above the new lobby. The new drive Entrance was also still under some level of construction, but the Lobby area is really nice. The new pool is bigger and also nice, as it has an in water lounging deck. The bottom is not slippery so participating in the pool activities is better, with the exception of the grates at the bottom, as they blend in, are raised and you can potentially trip or stub your toe on them. There are lots of cabana beds around the pool as well as lounging chairs. Reserve them in advance otherwise you are unlikely to get one. They were still working on and around the pool during our visit. We are thinking still working the filtration, as there were days where the pool got a bit cloudy. There are 3 new “bars” close to the new pool; 1 “swim-up”, 1 just down from the lobby (as mentioned), and the other over by the “Eden” suites. The new restaurant, that is also close to the new pool, serves ala-cart for breakfast (order off a menu), then has a Lunch that is buffet as well as off menu. For dinner it is Greek, and VERY good, although does serve small portions. The new Mexican restaurant opened the day before we left, and we did not get the opportunity to try it. The new Jacuzzi is significantly bigger, and also has a bar. There are a number of Cabana's up there as well. The rest of the resort is like normal (or as in the past) - All of the previous rooms/builds are still there. The “old” Jacuzzi was drained, but the cabana beds were still there, even though I’m not sure anyone used. The old pool is still there, as are the cabana beds, and loungers, but seems to be set-aside for those that don’t want to be around the upbeat music and activities that take place at the bigger new pool. The normal breakfast buffet restaurant is still there – if you don’t want the Ala-Cart. The Suki and Sahlo restaurants are also still there. Both serving excellent food. The old disco and social room is also what was being used while we were there. The bar that was just outside the old lobby is now a coffee bar in the AM, and also serves pastries. At night, this bar still serves pizza and sandwiches (BLT), but there is no Alcohol – apparently there is a licensing issue. The resort still has nightly “entertainment” based upon the theme nights – and this takes place just outside the new lobby and in the new bar area. This area is also covered. These performances, we thought, were great. They typically started around 930pm. They had a band or DJ that kicked things off for a block of time after the performance, than folks migrated to the Disco, or Jacuzzi. Some were better than others. In our opinion - They are still going thru going pains. They had a multiple power outages during our visit, that the staff implied was influenced outside the resort, yet shut the whole resort down. One outage lasted well over an hour, and bounced between on and off over multiple hours. Then only certain things came back on, while other things did not, like our room AC unit – which was sort of weird. Where to eat breakfast/lunch was at first a bit confusing – as we were unclear as to what or who was open. Basically there were places at both pools – so you did not need to walk from one end of the resort to the other unless you wanted to. Breakfast by the old pool, Lunch by the new seemed to work for us. The “players” did their best to keep folks engaged, but it sort of seemed they needed more staff because of the bigger pool. Beach volley ball – was at the normal place – by the old pool – so somewhat disconnected. Because beach volleyball happened in the early morning – it was not a big deal, other than not many people participated. There is and can be confusion regarding dinner reservations at the nicer restaurants. Working with a butler helped, but not always and if you are not a Premier member you have to make the restaurant reservations with the hostess at the new restaurant by the new pool (only starting at a specific time - Lunch!). Many of the familiar "Player" faces are still there; Ilse, Babi, Oliver, and Kevin were some of our favorite players. LeFranc and G helped us as butlers. Iker, Antonio and Danny were always helpful around the Pool. The “egg lady” always did great at making us omelets or whatever kind of eggs we wanted. Aaron always remembered us at the Eden Bar, as did Jonathan at the Jacuzzi Bar. It is always fun to go back and have them remember you! As should be expected the crowd makes the place. We got in on Thursday, and it seemed a bit flat. Things started to pick up on Friday, and the weekend was great, busy and more packed with good energy. Monday thru Wednesday, things slowed down – and we were out on Thursday. We will definitely go back, but are also thinking of giving Pearl a try. Hope all this helps
