Such a great guesthouse in this beautiful, quiet, riverside spot in Montenegro. Ljudmila and Ivan are wonderfully warm hosts. The food is outstanding with many local dishes on offer plus drinks such as zova (elder flower cordial) and Sljivovica (plum brandy). Rooms are large and comfortable.

We visited Ludmila’s guesthouse for a sailing trip along the river as well as lunch after. Ludmila and her husband are amazing hosts with an open heart. Their guesthouse is a historic place built by royalty several centuries ago, so expecting spacious rooms and up to date furniture (mentioned in previous comments) is unreasonable. To spend time there is to experience centuries-old way of living. It’s a very unique and unforgettable experience. The way Ludmila cooks is out of this world. I would make a trip back there just to have her fish platter again.
Her husband took us on a trip along the river to Kom Monastery and our entire family (old and young) were left speechless. Untouched beauty!

Absolutely DO NOT stay here. I booked online and paid ahead of time. When I showed up the guest house was closed for the week and the owner, Judmila will not give me a refund. This is a completely fraudulent property and I wouldn’t support her by staying here. If you do book, DO NOT pay ahead of time. And have a backup in case the guesthouse is closed when you arrive.

I am having trouble writing this review, the main reason being that the hosts, Ljudmila and her husband are such nice people! They are great hosts and care for their guests in a genuine way.
But, there’s a big “but” here, our experience from the guest house is far from what can be imagined by reading some other reviews.
Rijeka Crnojevica is a one (short!) street place. It is dotted by run-down old buildings abandoned and full of trash. The area where the guest house is located is in reasonably decent shape and really has 3 restaurants to choose from. A few moments drive, getting out of Rijeka Crnojevica, and you are in a fantastic land of trees and grass and water.
We got an apartment in the guest house that consisted of one bedroom, a kitchenette and a toilet/bathroom. The room was clean but the furniture is old and out of date. We did not cook so I will not comment on the kitchenette facilities. The old bridge is just outside the window and was, to our taste, the only positive thing about our room. The faucet in the tiny (1x1 meter, tops) bathroom has an extension that serves as an overhead shower. When taking a shower, water runs all over the place, including the toilet and on the floor. We did not like it.
Wifi is painfully slow.
Ljudmila will cook your breakfast for you and it’s fresh and tasty, she serves really nice fresh bread with it but there are no choices whatsoever.
We are an older couple and surely we misunderstood what stands behind the title “guesthouse”. Perhaps it is suitable for younger people traveling on a budget. This is why we are sharing our experience - It is not suitable for all.
