To stay at Podere Tegline is to experience Tuscan farm life in a very authentic way. The historic farmhouse is a museum filled with treasures that evoke many stories. After the hustle of Florence it was delightful to slow down and enjoy the countryside. We received a warm welcome, a bottle of olive oil and a beautiful cake from Simonetta and were delighted to be able to purchase honey, wine and olive oil - all produced on the farm. We came to appreciate the daily rituals like Lore (the horse) waiting for Giovanni to feed her and then heading off through the vineyard to the woods. Giovanni spent an evening introducing us to Chianti Classico Wine and EV Olive Oil and Simonetta spent an afternoon teaching us to make pasta and sharing recipes - including her spectacular Tiramisu that we all sat down and enjoyed together. Our rooms were comfortable and we had everything we needed to prepare meals so we could easily have stayed on the farm, but we also wanted to visit Tuscany. Simonetta provided helpful advice about things to see and do, and made great suggestions for meals in nearby villages and towns. We had an unforgettable experience at Podere Tegline and can't wait to visit, again.

Words can’t describe the wonderful, true Tuscan experience we had staying at Agritourismo Podere Tegline. Simonetta and Giovanni go above and beyond to ensure all guests enjoy their stay. Yes, the apple cake was divine, as was the specially prepared dinner if you are lucky enough to be invited and definitely do the wine & cheese course. I’ll never forget the experience I had staying here, everything was perfection. You simply must go! Thankyou Simonetta and Giovanni

This is a great place for American travelers to get a taste of the real Tuscany. Our hosts, Simonetta and Giovanni, were the highlight. They were warm and gracious and eager to share the joys of the region and their farm. They had a dinner ready for us on our arrival (delicious!) and we spent an evening with Giovanni (a sommelier) and other guests tasting the fruits (wine and olive oil) of the farm. We had the opportunity to meet other guests from Germany, France, Switzerland and the US without being too close. The accommodations were not luxury, but very comfortable. The 500 year old building is remarkable; the three foot thick walls kept the apartment cool throughout the visit even though we were there during a heat wave. Exactly what we were looking for.

We loved our five-night stay at Agriturismo Podere Tegline, and highly recommend this charming, unique and beautiful agriturismo. As others have said, Simonetta and Giovanni are so warm and welcoming. From the moment we arrived and throughout our stay, they were so friendly and gracious, and we felt like we were visiting family/old friends who lived in a gorgeous place! Simonetta baked us a delicious apple cake, and provided lots of useful information on sights, restaurants and outdoor markets. Giovanni was equally as welcoming, and we loved visiting his wine cellar for an evening of olive oil and wine tasting - we all learned so much, and he's so wise and thoughtful. Our family of 5 shared two apartments, which were filled with antiques from their families, and very comfortable. They were delightfully cool in the evenings and offered restful sleep. Finally, the property itself is beautiful - the charming old buildings are nestled against hills and vineyards, with a view of the pond, and lovely sounds of birds and frogs, and sometimes just the quiet breezes. Highly recommend this as a base for touring Tuscany. It's an easy trip to Sienna, Volterra, Montepulciano, San Gimignano, many vineyards and lots of lovely small towns.

So many good things to say I don’t even know where to start! Upon arriving to Agriturismo Podere Tegline, My husband, 8 year old daughter and I were greeted by Simonetta, who was very kind and welcoming. She immediately gave us a tour of our apartment, and the surrounding area of her beautiful, rustic, authentic farmhouse. Afterwards, she gave a detailed description of the Chianti Region, as she was orienting her farmhouse to us on a map. We had not realize till then, that her aguriturismo happened to be located in the heart of the Tuscan region, Chianti, between Florence and Siena. Our apartment was very nice, clean, spacious and fully furnished with all our needs. Simonetta even made us a delectable homemade lemon cake! In the room was also organic products from their farm such as their smooth wine, and delicious olive oil their family produces together. Although, we arrived without an itinerary for our visit to Chianti, Simonetta eagerly assisted us by successfully planning our short weekend in the region. Simonetta provided us with the most important sights to see, places to eat within and nearby the sights, and the location and times of the local markets. Simonetta never missed a beat, she was readily available on WhatsApp and responded immediately to any questions we had. Our itinerary; we first spent a day in Siena, which was only 45 minutes beautiful drive away. For this drive, I recommend you take the longer route to Siena, which contains many side parking available to take scenic, breathtaking pictures. Plan accordingly, as the drive could take longer than expected due to the many pauses you take for pictures. Later in the afternoon, we arrived back to Radda Di Chianti, where we did the Tuscan cooking class with Simonetta and her daughter Maria Giovanna. Giovanni, Simonetta’s husband, graciously joined our class a little after, and served us his family’s produced wine.

This is our second time to visit the beautiful Podere Tegline. We had the good luck to stay there two years ago and loved it so much that we returned in September. From the moment you start winding up the lane to the house your very bones start to relax. The house is set in the owner's vineyard and this time we were fortunate to witness the harvesting of the grapes - thanks to the good weather! Giovanni and Simonetta have poured their heart and soul into both Podere Tegline and the land. Simonetta is always available via WhatsApp if you need any guidance or advice, and you really should ask because she has so many good tips! Simonetta also bakes the most amazing apple cake and if you are lucky enough to taste it, you will never forget it! The lure of Podere Tegline for me is the peace and quiet - you are literally in the very heart of the Tuscan countryside, surrounded by nature - the light coming through your window can be your morning wake up call while at night owls hoot you to sleep. On top of that Giovanni produces his own delicious wine which is on hand in the small reception area - which also includes books, board games, guides, maps, etc. One of the highlights on both occasions was the Tuscan family dinner put on by our hosts. If you go, make sure you take the opportunity to eat with the family. They are the loveliest people, full of fun, knowledge and they produce fabulous food! In terms of location, it's ideal. You're a 40 minute drive from Siena (a must see), while it's less than an hour from Florence - so if you want to do the city thing as well the option is there. I can't recommend Podere Tegline enough. It was everything we needed it to be to disconnect from the world for two weeks - we will be back!

This is our second visit to Podere Tegline and it won’t be our last. The location is perfect, nestling between charming local communities like Radda, Panzano and Greve in the very heart of Chianti - the Chianti Classico domain. It’s also midway between the metropolitan essentials of Florence and Siena. You’re also a comfortably short but beautiful drive away from the tourist hotspots like San Gimignamo. The restored and authentic farm allows you to immerse yourself in the traditional way of country life enjoyed by generations of Tuscans whilst still providing the essentials - there’s good WiFi if you want to stay in touch with the 21st century. Equally you can experience a simpler, slower 19th century way of life too. What transforms this great holiday location into something unique and magical though is our hosts Simonetta and Giovanni. The passion they share for the farm, it’s history and the fruits of their labors shines through the moment you meet them. They are supportive and offer a fountain of information but allow you take in as much or as little as you want. Simonetta in particular is available on WhatsApp just about any time to answer any questions you may have from the best museums to visit in Florence or the best places to park in Siena and will always keep you informed of the many cultural events happening in the local communities. They regularly offer a special dinner night in their family home or a wine and olive oil tasting experience and my advice would be to jump at the chance of either or both. The wine and oil tasting evening goes way beyond anything the main commercial vineyards offer - Giovanni is a certified Sommelier and will train you in tasting technique as well as offering samples of their fantastic organic wines and Olive Oil. The Family diner goes further and includes authentic Tuscan dishes were Simonetta and Giovanni educate you about the history of the food you are enjoying. I can’t imagine anyone not enjoying a holiday here in this great location and with such fantastic hosts.

A 2 storey stone farmhouse overlooking Tuscany. There are 4 apartments each with own outdoor area. We had the 2 bedroom one which was superb. Its rustic, quiet and simply beautiful. Simonetta is so helpful and makes a wonderful tiramisu. Giovanni is so helpful and passionate with his knowledge. A lemon cake, bread and olive oil on arrival, great wine, great company. So much more to say...just go there 😊
