This is the best budget place you can ever go to. And can be quite romantic if you want a quiet life and spend time in the room. Booking Its not easy to book as they dont have proper websites and are not listed anywhere on apps. Arrival. No way for you to get there conveniently after dropping off from the bus at the petrol station. Walked to this place like hell with all the luggage that we have. Dreadful walking experience under the sun. A car is a must have. Lobby and common area Hot as hell and noone there to properly man it. The owner sometimes sleeps in. And the daughters are very cheeky staring at male travellers because the toilets are not built in. And the towels provides are thin therefore shapes can be imprinted when we go for showers and its uneasy when prepubescant girls are staring. The common area is always unlit and warm. You have to on them yourselves. The room is mediocre. And walls are thin. Noises can be heard from outside. The walls also have cracks for people to peek in and for you to peek out. But its simple, rustic, kampung style. Its really a nice place to stay if youre a nature lover. It has a homey feel to it.

This hotel catch my interest due to its antique looking. It is an old building but the furniture inside is not bad, with me it is quite cozy and comfortable. The room keep original design from decade ago, with basic furniture and very clean, the bathroom has hot shower. Service is good and staffs are very friendly. A good experience to try this place.

Just read the last review and i don´t really agree with it. I think this hotel is very nice as you´re staying in a Malay house who has been standing there since 1929. and is still in a very good state. Off course you don´t have the comfort of a new modern hotel, but if you´re looking to have an idea how it is to sleep in a nice Malay wooden house, this is the place. The rooms are decent with a very high ceiling and bathrooms are basic, with hot shower, but definitely have their old charm. The staff are very friendly but they unfortunately don´t speak a lot of English. Yes there is no wifi but for me that brings a more authentic fealing. There are two Istana´s (1 is the residency of the sultan of Pahang) in walking distances and the towncenter is about 10 to 15 minutes walk away. And rooms are 55 ringgit. Overal for us a very good experience and a nice stay.

According tot the Lonely Planet this hotel is reason enough tot stop in Pekan. Well, if you're into mediocre hotels with bad service you should defenately go! Bed was okay, bathroom had the worst shower I had in Malaysia and the service desk couldn't call us a taxi, nor provide us with any information about the city/busses. No wifi. On the other hand the rooms are big and it is cheap. RM55 for a double room, no breakfast, price on arrival.
