Friendly staff and good food. You may try restaurant, lay on sunbed near the swimming pool or near the beach. The sea is shallow there so it is suitable also for families with small children. It is also place where you may learn kite surfing. They provide you with a towel and prices are very good when you compare it with other beach clubs.

Enchanting place, overlooking a white sand beach and with the bluest sea we have seen in Samui (where the sea is mostly green-blue).

The beach club is not new but it is very well maintained, and perhaps this gives it a very relaxed and family atmosphere.

Perfect for me, I don't like clubs too glamour.

To give a very high score, you need to close a little bit your eyes on the kitchen and cellar, which have a lot to be improved.

Nice service staff

Shiva Samui is a wonderful beachclub... Not too crowded, very friendly staff, nice cocktails and they make the best Massaman curry! :-)
Sunbeds & towels are free of charge if you order drinks or food.

A great place for relaxing!

The title of this review probably sums it up. There is much to be improved at Shiva Samui - the resort is run down.

Villas need areas of repair and maintenance that would be expected in a four star accomodation eg. poor shower pressure, paint chips, older style furniture, rusty BBQ, worn outdoor furniture, loose tap heads.

There are villas which appear not to be used at all - the pool is unclean(??)

Breakfast spread is basic, not impressive. Toaster needs to be replaced, and one shouldn’t need to use metal tongs to get bread out of a toaster???? 😱

We didn’t enjoy all the mosquitoes at the common restaurant or around the resort. Would be nice if it were sprayed for mosquitoes. Staff did try to put mosquito incense at the restaurant tables.

The staff were very helpful and cannot very faulted. From online booking being very responsive, to resort staff being helpful and attentive. Room service food arrived promptly. Villas were serviced daily.

The spa and gym are non existent. There is no one there. The gym smells stale. They are also part of an old ‘reception’ area - a random part of the resort which looked like an old entry point.

The pool was clean and good. Poolside furniture was good and staff attentive. There is a supposed pool bar which is not operational and all rusty. There is a trampoline for kids which is also wearing.

We booked to stay, two adults and two teenage children at the Shiva from August 9th 2019 until check out on the 17th. Upon arrival it quickly became evident that we did not want to stay at the resort, as it did not meet our expectations. This was clearly our choice. We spoke with Mr Dunlop, the owner/manager, not quite sure of his exact position, and explained we would not be staying. He pointed out that the rooms would be not refundable at this stage, which was fully understandable and something we never expected in any case. However he did say as we were not going to be staying he would look at a refund for the all inclusive meal package as of course we would not be using this. After our brief chat with him the staff in the reception area ( couldn't have been more helpful and lovely) booked us a taxi and we left the Shiva to head to the Four Seasons. Since returning from Koh Samui in August last year I have written numerous emails over the last several months to Mr Dunlop and he has not had the courtesy to reply. Nothing from him with anything further regards giving us a refund. In the brief period of time ( two hours) we were at the Shiva we were nothing but polite, civil and courteous, so quite why he has never bother to reply i dont know. I can only assume that perhaps customer service is ultimately a low priorty, bear this in mind if booking.
I will add as writing that the resort itself is somewhat tired and the slick photos and video are not the reality you will find. Although many people clearly enjoy their stay there as shows in their reviews. The Shiva would not be somewhere i would recommend to anyone.

I always think the measure of somewhere is not just when things go right but customer service when things go wrong! This year has been incredibly challenging for Tourism and having spent 15 years in travel I have every sympathy. However the way my family have been dealt with can only be described as appalling and I see I am not the only one! We booked a trip of a lifetime in October last year, 17 family members from the UK and New Zealand to meet for 10 nights and have two villas at this property. We were lucky to be being treated to this holiday by my parents in law. They paid in full for the Villas over £15k and took another $1000 in resort credit. When the pandemic hit and it became apparent we would not be allowed to travel the resort refused to move the date and charged 100% charges keeping all the money including the resort credit. Their argument is they were still open and it was our fault we couldn't get there! Despite advising we would get back the money for transfers this has never been received. When we cancelled the booking their conditions state we were in 90% charges so at the very least the 10% and unused credit should have been refunded. Just like others they do not reply to emails requesting this. What a terrible way to treat people who have spent thousands in good faith. I would urge anyone thinking of booking here to think again. As i said at the start the measure of true service is how someone responds in a crisis and to have no flexibility, no consideration for customers at this difficult time is truly outrageous.

Shiva Samui has refused to honour its own contract and taking 1000s of $s from my family because we was unable to travel due to the pandemic? We've been trying to contact them since August and still no answer. We had to cancel our trip due to the travel restriction imposed in Thailand. We gave notice of this to Shiva and they simply said this was an insurnace issue. The contract required Shiva to give a partial refund but they did not and they would not even contemplate a date change for 2021.

I stayed in Baan Tawan at Shiva Resort for 5 nights. It's a beautiful luxury villa with three bedrooms, pool, kitchen, living room, and plenty of open space. This place is great for family with kids looking for an exclusive place to stay in a private gated community. Located within walking distance to the Shiva Beach Club with infinity pool and restaurant on white sand beach far away from the tourist areas in Koh Samui. I recommend staying here for a few nights!

We stayed in the Baat Shaan villa. Right on the sea. Well positioned, Comfortable and tick all the boxes. Walk to the beach club for meals. All inclusive. Take drinks or food to Villa if you like. Good food, good drinks. All staff were absolutely amazing, you won’t get better. Disco party and barbecue was memorable. Kayak available. We went in low season and sea swim was great. Check tides- low tide is not good, sea pulls back to the reef.
Koh Sumui generally, unfortunately, lost its charm a bit. Plastic rubbish is piling up...

Hi. It’s about 40 min drive. You can arrange with the hotel for a shuttle ir use the Mozio app. We rented a car which came in really handy as we drove to other beaches etc but the hotel also has a shuttle service to Lamai and Chaweng.
