I have spent 2 nights in this beach front hotel. It is my 2nd visit to the place. The hotel has been service for more than 20 years. They have renovated some facilities. My Room, 611 is clean and well maintained. free Wifi is avaliable in Room with password. 4 bottles of water are provided daily.

Breakfast serves from 6:30 at poolside restaurant. They serve both local and western menu. It is buffet style. I like their local menu.

They have a spa service; unfortunately, I have no chance to visit. There are 2 conference rooms, each can accomodate about 100 peple.

In conclusion, I like the hotel in term of good view and location of the hotel. Green area and big trees are another strong point. There are not too many visitors during my visit, very peaceful. I would recommend the management team to keep maintaining and up grading their facilities.

If I wouldn't have paid more than 3k baht I would probably give four stars.
If you pay that price then I expect much more. The renovated rooms are ok however dead insects on the bedsheet and on the floor. Seems they don't have a housekeeping supervisor that checks the rooms regularly after cleaning.
Not enough sunbeds at the pool and the ones provided are old and partly broken.

The big plus of this hotel is the location with great views. And the pool is quite big.

Breakfast is average.

I'd say the hotel would be worth the money for max 2k baht per night.

I was coming to Rayong for many years and always ignore this hotel but this time decided to give a try. Yes it’s old and yes staff needs a training and yes it’s a bit expensive but it’s all goes away when it comes to experience the hotel itself with its unique location. Feeling like In Bali and the view from the balcony priceless! Will be back again . My kids love it !

Lovely location on beautiful remote headland. Lots of steep stairs to climb between the carpark and lobby. No greeting on arrival or signage to reception. You have to drag your own luggage or wait hoping for a staff member to arrive. No shops or restaurants within walking distance and the hotel food / beverage offerings are grossly overpriced. Breakfast was ok. The beach facing lawns could be beautiful but they are poorly maintained, litter everywhere and the sunbeds/ deck chairs are worn and uncomfortable. No staff around to offer bar service. The thin strip of beach is dirty. The sea had a deep shelf and strong currents so was unsafe for swimming - I’m a strong swimmer and got grazed climbing out. Tried to eat at the cafe but was put off by the huge amount of plastic litter in the water beside it. Sadly, all the pools are closed until late March. No mention of this on the booking site. Understaffed. Although the few staff around did their best to be helpful, little evidence of professional management or customer service standards. Room average. Good sea view. Bedding and furnishing not 4*. TV fuzzy and all in Thai. Overall extremely poor value for money.

Situated on a narrow promontory so all rooms have sea view. A long walk into Ban Phe but hotel provides free (but infrequent) shuttle. Staff very nice but food and, especially, spa use expensive.Lovely grounds and pool area but smal beach littered with plastic debris.

i stayed at the Rayong Resort for four nights in august 2004. we had travelled round prior to it, in bagkok, kanchanaburi, chiang mai, and we wanted somewhere to relax for the end of our holiday. the rayong resort was certianly relaxing. the rooms are nice, big beds, clean, with a thai decoration style but uncomfortable stone floors. you get a small balcony which is nice . the bathroom is small and the shower isn't very good but it is clean and useable. air conditioning is always on.
there is a fantastic split level pool with a waterfall, very big and clean.

the main problem with the rayong resort is the location, the resort is very remote. we walked down the beach for about half an hour to get to a tiny town which consisted of an aquarium, a bar, a small beach side restuarant which served fantastic prawns, and some houses. basically you need transport to get anywhere decent but there is no decent taxi service and the htoel service is very pricey. having a baby with us, we didn't want to travel far at night which meant we were forced to eat in the hotel. and due to the remoteness of the hotel, the food is very pricey, not particularly by western standards, but for thai prices it is very expensive. that said the food is good, there is a lovely buffet breakfast.
the best thing about the hotel is the location, the views are absolutely stunning, with a lovely l;ong walking pier and boat trips to the island of koh samet which is beautiful. the sea is lovely to swim in and the beach is beautiful. i would reccomend this hotel to anyone who wants a quiet stay with beautful views and a lovely pool and is not bothered about leaving the hotel much.

We have lived in Thailand for nearly four years and only found this jewel in our final 4 months. It is a unique hotel as it is/has: more like a home, comfortable, peaceful, beautiful decor, huge sweeping lawns under palm trees, the best pools we have encountered, a private kilometre long pier for evening strolls and for admiring the marine life, armchairs and sofas in the best positions, evening films for children complete with popcorn, lantern launches every Saturday night, stunning architecture similar to G Bawa's hotels in Sri Lanka, comfortable, wide beds with luxurious bed linen, a view of the ocean for 270 degrees, kayaks to rent, organised tours (we did not go on any as very happy relaxing in hotel grounds), spa (we did not use this), very friendly staff with impeccable timekeeping and communication skills, perfect conference facilities for visiting parties, beautiful breakfast restaurant on the water's edge shielded from the sun and rain and overall high levels of cleanliness throughout the hotel.

We would like to thank the staff for a wonderful stay. We came away feeling refreshed and cared for. You deserve high ratings and success.

With many best wishes the Mountfield family.

Rooms under renovation, some noise currently.
However, the benefit may outweigh the noise. The view was great! I took so many pictures!
Not too many hotel guests, so it's quiet- which was good for me.

We stayed three nights on long weekend 5-8 April 2012.

The hotel is very beautiful location.
Everyone like here, and feel comfortably. Spacious and very comfortable. Overlooking the sea, surrounded by a beautiful, quiet, only the sound waves and the birds that wake me up.
Breakfast was good.
A separate pool for children and adults. Food is very delicious. They give big dish and fresh.
Saturday night at about 20:30 am the children enjoy a complimentary light meal and after
We feel like at home. Free wi-fi internet in room.
The staff were very friendly
Afternoon Sunday I used a 2-hour Thai massage at the spa,There are very quiet.

Hi Guys, I think that the hotel has the information you seek. You can book a day trip to Koh Samed. As per the cost to book that day trip I am not sure but again the hotel would have all the details. You don't have to pay the reserve fee again...
