A delightful resort at the very southern tip of the island, away from the large crowds and bars and discos of the main areas. If peace and beauty is your thing this could be for you. Very cute spacious cottages. Excellent food choices for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is quite good but maybe more limited and Asian than some western folk might want - but we loved it. The staff are delightful.
WiFi only in public area near bar and restaurant, but that is fine.
As the place is far from anywhere you either need to be happy to just stay there or arrange taxis or motorbike hire to go to the main town. There are trips available from the resort such as snorkelling and sunset cruise etc.
The resort has gorgeous hammocks and swings under shady trees by the edge of the sea. Perfect for reading and snoozing. The sea itself is rocky, so you do need beach shoes for going in. The water is clear and warm and fairly shallow, but you do have to walk over rocks / stones as you go in. So be prepared.
We will go back. Loved it.

I was there with my family last month. Not sure why this was categorized as a Hotel under Phe. It should be listed as hotel/resort under Koh Samed. I have been to Kho Samed at least 10 times in the last 7 years or so and have stayed in different parts of the island. I picked this for its location. It sits almost on the tip of this “T bone” shaped island and has its own private “sort of” beach – next to that super pricey Paradee Resort.
In no particular order I will give you the pluses and minuses.
Pluses
- Has it own private sort of beach and coral shore and is very quiet.
- This resort sits on a large peninsula with two shores. Even with other guests it does not feel crowded
- The rocky side - You can snorkel right off of edge. Also can rent a canoe go around it.
- Each room is a octagon shaped bungalow with a huge room, big bed and floor to ceiling glass with some sort of beach view (from as far as what we noticed).
- Resort has lots of trees, swings and hammocks to chill out on
- One can do a short 5 min walk from the resort to the tip of the island for a spectacular sunset view. And the shore itself is very picturesque with colorful rocky cliffs.
- Ideal for family with children

Minuses
- If you want a beach full of eateries nearby, bars, activities, people watching etc – this is not your place. To do that you need to take a pick up and come to Ao Pai or Sai Keaw beach which is a 15-20 min ride away. Each ride will cost you 400 baht one way minimum, and the back-of-the-pick-up-ride will be so dusty that your partner may ask “who are you” when you get off!!!
- Service in the resort is not up to par. When we sat down for dinner on the first night and they completely ignored us for a good 20 mins before they brought the menu; they were not that busy. It’s shows poor management in my view.
- The food is just ok but not cheap. Breakfast was dismal. All three mornings we noticed that they never refilled the fired egg or ham tray. Only early birds got the worm. Late ones had to settle for a few pieces of toast and fruit slices here and there with dreadful instant coffee and tea.
- The beach side of the shore is not very big and the water is full of sharp dead coral, hence can’t really go into the water without being extremely careful. Don’t expecting a huge beach to swim on.
- They could do a better job of the keeping the place clean. It’s not filthy but you do find occasional discarded bottles and papers and plastics here and there.
- Pool is literally a size of a bath tub, and does look like bath a tub sticking out of the ground hence they shouldn’t even bother mentioning it or add a picture that might mislead people.

- Because of lack of decent resorts in koh Samed in general, and being close to BKK it is always flocked with the locals so there is no competition hence no good bargains. One can find a very decent resort in Koh Chang or Phuket in this price range.

- The boat ride each way will cost you about 350-400 Baht per person to get to the resort. I think that’s what I paid. Even taking the ferry to the main pier is not much of a saving because the pick up will charge you 600 baht each way since it’s out of the way. It’s not necessarily resorts fault but still count as a “minus” for budges conscious people.
Regardless of that, overall it still is a decent looking place – if you are not super picky about the food and service and want to and chill out in absolute quiet and isolation.

I traveled a lot around Thailand. I have never written a review before, but after our experience i had to share and warn others. We just stayed there for 2 and half days, i used to go to Paradee resort which was much cheaper 3-4 years ago, but has gone up insanely. This was recommended as a cheaper alternative i took my boyfriend here as a surprise to paradise island. First of all the hotel and beach is extremely dirty. The water is not clean and blue and there is no white sand, its just dirt, bottles, leafs, plastic bags, beach is full of stones and you can easily cut your feet. The hotel around is dirty, there are ants everything cos of poor hydiene. Apart from that they charge you for everything in a supposedly 4 star hotel. You have to pay for shower! I find that ridiculous!

The hotel is at the very end, so there isnt much to do in the evenings, its nice and quiet during the day. The food is absolutely terrible. We couldnt eat anything and last night found a dish that was ok, but my boyfriend ended up getting strong food poisoning and was throwing up all night. I will never stay there again or probably go to Koh Samed. The water was clearer and cleaner near the port rather than our hotel. Such a waste of money, so expensive getting there and it was just not worth it.

We attempted to stay three nights at this delightful getaway but because of a concert on the island the resort only had one garden view two person octagonal room for two of the nights we wanted.During our telephone conversation with the management we tried to secure the booking with a credit card but it was not accepted as we had to book online through their website where Credit Card payments for bookings are guaranteed by a Thai bank. Not having been to the island before we booked road transport from Pattaya and it included the cost of the ferry. Unfortunately this ferry did not travel from the mainland to Pakarang Beach, the loction of Nimmanoradee resort but terminated at another resort halfway down the island. As Nimmanoradee resort is on the southern most tip of Ko Samet we were rquired to hire a 4 wheel drive taxi at a cost of 500Baht to reach our destination. The dirt road was unbelievably bad and not all taxis wanted to travel along it. We can understand why, being jolted from one side of the vehicle to the other because of the poor road.
When we arrived at the resort we were greeted by two young lads -porters- who carried our bags to reception where we were warmly greeted by the staff.
Our room was one of the older octagonal rooms at the resort and although being described as a "garden view" room we were only a few metres from the sea. The room was spotlessly clean although the bathroom - almost an afterthought- added to the rear of the building was rustic but everything worked. At night from our bed we watched the small lizards running across the ceiling and each morning we greeted by a slightly larger one sunning itself on our verandah. It is a National Park after all and did not worry us.
The resort has a restaurant serving western and Thai food at surprisingly moderate prices given that there are no other restaurants in easy reach. Beer was significantly cheaper than on the mainland.
The resort for a small fee has many water sports available - fishing rods to go squidd fishing at night, kayaks and snorkeling equipment are just among some of the entertainment available to those tearing themselves away from relaxing on the beach. Within easy walking distance you can reach the end of the island to watch the sun rise and set at the appropriate time.
Breakfasts were ample although the choice was limited.
We found the staff at the resort very pleasant and their friendly attitude helped to enhance our experience.
During our stay many of the guests were Thai couples or in groups. A person travelling alone might need to consider whether this is the place on Ko Samet for them.
While the beach is fantastic it does front on to lots of coral and rocks so when entering the water you have to watch out for stubbing your toe. It has hammocks on the beach in which you can idle the time away. The resort has a small swimming pool for those not brave enough to enter the sea.
We discovered that the resort is serviced by a speedboat from the mainland so though we had paid for tickets back on the ferry the road trip back to the ferry deterred us from using them. Instead we purchased a ticket to the mainland on the speedboat for 400 Baht per person. Well worth the money!
In summary the resort is to a certain extent isolated but that is part of its attraction. Although it has TV and wifi it is an excellent place to have a restful time. The scenery is splendid and our experience was enhanced by the friendly staff.

It has been 10 years since I last visited Koh Samed. Thankfully I selected to stay at Nimmannoradee. The resort is at the southernmost tip of the island and provides a more spacious, secluded, peaceful feel. The area is also a lot more clean and without the crowds. You'll need to rent a moto to get to the rest of the island. Staff is super helpful and books the moto and boat ride back for you at a reasonable rate. Complimentary breakfast is great. Ambiance unbeatable (a calm but happy mood). No parties, no loud noise. Charming individual cottages that are surprisingly modern. Mostly couples stay here. Rates are competitive, mostly due to the more remote location (imo). The scenic view (sunset) is close to the resort by moto.

We were there early Nov 2016, just before the peak season.

Amazing place.Kept up to the best standard. The location is far from other noisy beaches. Place is secluded and peaceful. The beach has natural shade of the trees which was the key for us. People reading books and chilling by the beach the whole day. Ideal for couples and families.

The staff was very helpful and more than that. My almost 70 old mom got the best treatment we good expect. She has health condition and can't eat spicy or rough food. Our request very always accommodated and the staff even changed the Breakfast menu in accordance. Excellent service!

The hotel staff even made a free Kratong for me for Loi Kratong celebration. Thank you! You are wonderful!

The only thing is that the rooms with Twin beds are not listed on agoda.com. If you don't want to sleep with your companion, you need to book bungalow for 4 adults.
And obviously if you need night life it is not your choice.

Beach is sandy, next to the shore water is shallow enough for kids. Low tide in the evening and high water in the morning. Deep enough for a good long swim from morning to 4 PM-ish. I swam like crazy all days through. During free diving saw a lot of fish and other sea life.

We have just returned from staying at Nimmanoradee for a week. We are a family of four, traveling with a twelve year old boy and a six year old girl. We had accidentally booked a max capacity three person bungalow - the deluxe beachfront cottage. However, there was plenty of room for an additional bed to be put in - though a fold up bed cost us an extra 500 Baht a night. We were impressed with our cottage; it was spacious, clean, the bed was comfortable and the addition of a fridge was helpful. The bathroom was basic, but the toilet flushed and the shower had hot running water. We were disappointed with the beach as most of it is in shade, especially during particularly high tides. The beach had lots of coral on it, which made walking into the water painful, but not impossible. There was a fair bit of rubbish in the water, but that seemed to be common around the island. The staff did make some effort to clean the litter off the beach, which made a bit of a difference. We enjoyed relaxing on our wooden balcony as the view was incredible. We also enjoyed drinking cocktails and eating in the restaurant as it had an extended section right next to the water. Our kids appreciated the swings and hammocks and the free internet at the restaurant. The swimming pool does not exist anymore, though it appears to still be featured on the website. It costs approx 18 dollars to leave the resort to get to the main part of the island by taxi. We then hired quad bikes to give us a bit of freedom and flexibility. I wouldn't recommend hiring motorbikes if you intend to take them back to the resort as the deep sand on the road made it impossible for bikes to get up and down the steep hills. We would definitely return to this resort, especially seeing the other resorts we almost stayed at.

My boyfriend and I booked for 4 nights here in the middle of our Thailand holiday. I was hoping to show him a golden sandy beach with sun loungers in the beautiful Thai sunshine. This place couldn't be further from this. The area they call the beach is in fact 3 feet of dirty rocky sand and their 'sun loungers' are in fact fixed uncomfortable deck chairs.
The pool is non existent - we were told it was closed for renovation but it had blatantly been closed for a very long time.
The resort is also at the very end of Koh Samet and a 600 baht taxi journey each way to any form of life. This didn't bother us too much as we were looking to get away from hustle and bustle but on arrival we're told that the bar man was on holiday for a week so the bar and restaurant would close at 9 each night and we could only order beer or soft drinks for the week.
Our bungalow was ok. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The level of cleanliness was VERY questionable - I had to clean the ledge behind the bed when we arrived and throw away a lot of mess and someone's discarded tooth!! Utterly disgusting! The bathroom was full of cobwebs on the ceiling and had holes in the roof!
On the plus side the food was good and the beer was cheap. The staff were friendly enough but seemed somewhat embarrassed at the hole they worked in. The place needs a whole heap on money investing in it and unless you can get a room for no more than £20 a night I'd avoid this place - it's not worth any more.

The name of the pier that i took the boat across to the resort is called Taruaphe you can choices one of 2 boats you can take a speed boat which cost more and takes about 20 to 25 mins it will make stops at all the different resorts to drop off the guest, or you can take a delivery boat which is cheaper but it takes longer to get to the island about 45 to 50 mins it will drop you of at the pier and you will need to take a taxi to your resort, the most you should pay for a taxi is 600 baht its about a 20 min drive to your resort from the pier, you will have to pay in to different place once you get of the boat the first spot is right at the gate once you leave the boat then once you get a taxi you will have to pay again at the top of the street to enter the park, its a bit of a cash grab,So keep in mind that before you head to your resort you may want to get some snacks to take with you because it will cost you 600 baht to go back to the pier, when you leave the resort you can tell the people at the front desk once your at your resort of course you wish to take the speed boat back when your ready to leave. it will cost i think it was 800 baht its a bit cheap i found because by the time you pay for the taxi and then for the boat at the pier its cost more.i hope this was of some help anything else you would like to know just let me know i will do my best to help you with any information i have, have a safe trip and i hope you enjoy your time in Thailand

You can either book the boat with the hotel, which takes you directly to the hotel private pier. Alternatively take a boat from Baan Phae pier to Koh Samet main pier, then taxi to the hotel. Cost 600Thai baht per taxi.
