The hotel is family run and in an ideal location. Stayed three nights (sun to wed) for a short break. Ideally situated in a quiet village on the outskirts of Tunbridge Wells. Ideal spot if you are a NT member as lots of properties within 30 minutes drive. Room was clean with all amenities as listed. Found the bed firm (could do with a topper). Apart from this clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and we recommend the evening menu that caters for all tastes. Food was to an excellent standard and portion size for the price. This is a old coaching Inn and retains the style and service I expected. It is not a 'plastic' run of the mill corporate hotel, lodge etc. Staff were welcoming and pleasant.
We had an excellent overnight stay on our way home from Kent to NYorks. Pembury is a pretty village and the Camden Arms Hotel is a beautiful building at one end. The staff were superb, friendly and helpful, informal and professional. Our room was warm and so comfortable with every amenity. The bed was fabulous and we had our best night sleep for a week. The evening meal and breakfast were both wonderful and served with speed and courtesy. The car was just outside the door which was very convenient given it was wet at the time. We plan to return on our next visit to Kent. Thank you Camden Arms.
If you want really good food, nicely presented, this is the place. Excellent and could not fault it. However, if you want a good night's sleep in a soft bed then this is NOT the place. We booked in for 3 nights but had to book out after only one. The bed was so hard that neither my wife or I had any sleep and went down to breakfast feeling very sore. My wife now has a bad pain in her hip brought on by the bed! The manger/owner informed me that all the beds were the same - 'some people like a soft bed, others hard' !! We have never experienced such an uncomfortable night. It's a great shame because it is a lovely hotel, but NEVER again. One more comment: One person, the owner, cooking and serving all the tables without help, so the breakfast was a little 'crazy' - no time to stop - just rushing madly around.…
A really good family run hotel, well placed in rural Kent with excellent pub food and a great breakfast. The staff are very good and nothing was too much trouble. The pub restaurant has a very extensive menu and good wines to complement it. All in all a really good find for a short break away.
Lovely hotel and friendly staff. Had all of the facilities Ineeded. The room was very clean and had all of the facilities I needed. The staff were friendly and capoable. Breakfast was great and there was nothing that they didn't have.
Stayed at the camden arms pembury today. The pub is lovely from the outside with ample parking. On arrival the staff are very friendly, attentive and most of all professional and welcoming. Ate in their restaurant tonight, the food is delicious very well presented and most of all enjoyable. Again the staff are all spot on and exactly how you want them all to be with you. One of the best places I've stayed at and will definitely return in the future. Do yourselves a favour and book/give this place a try you won't be disappointed.
It is not easy to find a family room for four (when the children are fairly grown up). This was perfect - a good sized room and four proper beds. Excellent coffee machine, super large TV, very clean, calm and pleasant. The staff were welcoming and helpful (housekeeping, reception, breakfast and restaurant). The breakfast was fabulous, cooked to order. Car parking is ample. Top recommendation on all counts.
Late arrival on a Sunday. Excellent first impressions were good. Immediately taken to table 6 next to the Kitchen door. Noticed the well stocked carvery was constantly being topped up. The food was excellent and soooo many stay were all heads up, eye contact and professional. This is a very well run family owned and family friendly pub. Well worth a visit and only about 10 minutes drive from Tunbridge wells with lots of free parking. Visit Pembury soon.
Everything done properly. Food is first class and true value for money. Whilst some aspects of the accommodation might seem a little “old fashioned” by comparison to the more bland corporate offerings it is very comfortable and without question the best available locally.
The pub/hotel is situated in the centre of Pembury, opposite the village green. There is a large free car park next to the pub. No need to bring your suitcase or bags to the check-in, there is a special entrance to the rooms. 15 rooms available, divided over two floors. Room nr.1 is a room for disabled people. It is quite specious and has a large showerroom with emergency cords. The rooms are situated in a building next to the pub and it makes it very quiet at nights. The pub/restaurant is not ‘olde worlde’ or modern, but is has a charming warmth. All kind of drinks available and two or three real ales. (Harvey’s, Spitfire and a guest ale) The menu in the restaurant is very extensive, but most and for all is the quality of the food superb! Friendly staff completes the picture of a wonderful place to stay for one or more nights! On the edge of the villages is a Tesco’s, a petrol station, a garden center and a hospital.…
